Traditionally, radiation of those wavelengths produced by a potential of from 2 to 25kv. has been classified as "Grenz" or "soft" x-rays. The peculiar property of this radiation is its low penetrating power. While being transparent to more energetic radiation, animal tissue and similar materials are sufficiently opaque to Grenz rays as to be studied in detail. Since the radiation is of the continuous type, it can be made soft enough to reveal any object, providing, of course, that the tube window and object medium be not opaque. Introduction
The purpose of this survey was to obtain information concerning existing wells and springs and the quantity and quality of water they yield, and to put down test holes where additional information was needed.
This project was part of a statewide Works Progress Administration project known as a "Statewide Inventory of Water Wells," sponsored by the [Texas] State Board of Water Engineers. The problem of this thesis is to study the plating prohibitive properties of the various materials commonly used in the manufacturing of separators, and to indicate which material would be most serviceable and feasible in a separator. At one time positives and negatives were kept not more than 0.25 inches apart, with the idea of reducing the intervening layers of electrolyte, and, therefore, the internal resistance of the cell, as much as possible. "Producer gas, so named owing to being produced in special forms of apparatus known as Producers. The fuel is decomposed into combustible gases, whereby most of the C is burnt to CO, whilst the H either remains free, or is converted into carburretted Hydrogen. Directly above the grate carbonic anhydride is formed but thus is rapidly converted into carbonic oxide; reaction as follows: CO₂ + C = 2CO.
Amongst these heavy carburetted hydrogen (C₂H₄) is that which principally increases the value of the gas as fuel and the drier the fuel used the more of the gas is produced. A …
