(Si10-056) Fear Effect In A Three Species Prey-Predator Food-Web System With Harvesting, R. P. Gupta, Dinesh K. Yadav
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Some recent studies and field experiments show that predators affect their prey not only by direct capture; they also induce fear in prey species, which reduces their reproduction rate. Considering this fact, we propose a mathematical model to study the fear effect of a middle predator on its prey in a three-species food web system with harvesting. The ecological feasibility of solutions to the proposed system is guaranteed in terms of positivity and boundedness. The local stability of stationary points in the proposed system is derived. Multiple co-existing stationary points for the proposed system are observed, which makes the problem …

(Si10-123) Comparison Between The Homotopy Perturbation Method And Variational Iteration Method For Fuzzy Differential Equations, P. Chandru, B. Radhakrishnan
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this article, the authors discusses the numerical simulations of higher-order differential equations under a fuzzy environment by using Homotopy Perturbation Method and Variational Iteration Method. The fuzzy parameter and variables are represented by triangular fuzzy convex normalized sets. Comparison of the results are obtained by the homotopy perturbation method with those obtained by the variational iteration method. Examples are provided to demonstrate the theory.

(R1892) On The Asymptotic Stability Of A Neutral System With Nonlinear Perturbations And Constant Delay, Melek Gözen
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we consider a nonlinear perturbed system of neutral delay integro-differential equations (NDIDEs). We prove two new theorems, Theorems 1 and 2, such that these theorems include sufficient conditions and are related to asymptotically stability of zero solution of the perturbed system of NDIDEs. The technique of the proofs depend upon the definitions of two new and more suitable Lyapunov- Krasovskiĭ functionals (LKFs). When we compared the results of this paper with those are found the literature related , our results improve and extend some classical results, and do new contributions to the topic of NDIDEs and literature.

(R1517) Asymptotical Stability Of Riemann-Liouville Fractional Neutral Systems With Multiple Time-Varying Delays, Erdal Korkmaz, Abdulhamit Ozdemir
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this manuscript, we investigate the asymptotical stability of solutions of Riemann-Liouville fractional neutral systems associated to multiple time-varying delays. Then, we use the linear matrix inequality (LMI) and the Lyapunov-Krasovskii method to obtain sufficient conditions for the asymptotical stability of solutions of the system when the given delays are time dependent and one of them is unbounded. Finally, we present some examples to indicate the efficacy of the consequences obtained.

(R1889) Analysis Of Resonant Curve In The Earth-Moon System Under The Effect Of Resistive Force And Earth’S Equatorial Ellipticity, Sushil Yadav, Mukesh Kumar, Rajiv Aggarwal
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In the present paper, we have determined the equations of motion of the Moon in spherical coordinate system using the gravitational potential of Earth. Using perturbation, equations of motion are reduced to a second order differential equation. From the solution, two types of resonance are observed: (i) due to the frequencies–rate of change of Earth’s equatorial ellipticity parameter and Earth’s rotation rate, and (ii) due to the frequencies–angular velocity of the bary-center around the sun and Earth’s rotation rate. Resonant curves are drawn where oscillatory amplitude becomes infinitely large at the resonant points. The effect of Earth’s equatorial ellipticity parameter …

(R1897) Further Results On The Admissibility Of Singular Systems With Delays, Abdullah Yiğit, Cemil Tunç
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Admissibility problem for a kind of singular systems with delays is studied in this article. Firstly, given the singular system with delays is transformed into a neutral system with delays. Secondly, a new sufficient criterion is obtained on the stability of the new neutral system by aid of Wirtinger-based integral inequality, linear matrix inequality (LMI) method and meaningful Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKFs). This criterion is valid for both systems. At the end, Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the applicability of the obtained results using MATLAB-Simulink software. By this article, we extend and improve some results of the past literature.

(R1511) Numerical Solution Of Differential Difference Equations Having Boundary Layers At Both The Ends, Raghvendra Pratap Singh, Y. N. Reddy
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, numerical solution of differential-difference equation having boundary layers at both ends is discussed. Using Taylor’s series, the given second order differential-difference equation is replaced by an asymptotically equivalent first order differential equation and solved by suitable choice of integrating factor and finite differences. The numerical results for several test examples are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the method.

(R1497) On The Invariant Subspaces Of The Fractional Integral Operator, Mehmet Gürdal, Anar Adiloglu Nabiev, Meral Ayyıldız
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In operator theory, there is an important problem called the invariant subspace problem. This important problem of mathematics has been clear for more than half a century. However the solution seems to be nowhere in sight. With this motivation, we investigate the invariant subspaces of the fractional integral operator in the Banach space with certain conditions in this paper. Also by using the Duhamel product method, unicellularity of the fractional integral operator on some space is obtained and the description of the invariant subspaces is given.

(R1468) Global Analysis Of An Seirs Model For Covid-19 Capturing Saturated Incidence With Treatment Response, David A. Oluyori, Helen O. Adebayo, Ángel G.C. Pérez
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this work, a new SEIRS model with saturated incidence rate and piecewise linear treatment response is proposed to describe the dynamics of COVID-19. It is assumed that the treatment response is proportional to the number of infected people as long as the incidence cases are within the capacity of the healthcare system, after which the value becomes constant, when the number of confirmed cases exceeds the carrying capacity of the available medical facilities. Thus, the basic reproduction number of the model is obtained. It is proved that the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when the basic reproduction number …

(R1488) Transformation Of Glucokinase Under Variable Rate Constants And Thermal Conditions: A Mathematical Model, Mukhtar Ahmad Khanday, Roohi Bhat
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The glucokinase (GK) in cells plays a pivotal role in the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism and acts as a sensor of glucose. It helps us to control glucose levels during fast and food intake conditions through triggering shifts in metabolism or cell functions. Various forms of hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia occur due to the transformations of the gene of the Glucokinase. The mathematical modelling of enzyme dynamics is an emerging research area to serve its role in biological investigations. Thus, it is imperative to establish a mathematical model to understand the kinetics of native and denatured forms of enzyme-GK under thermal …

(R1523) Abundant Natural Resources, Ethnic Diversity And Inclusive Growth In Sub-Saharan Africa: A Mathematical Approach, Juliet I. Adenuga, Kazeem B. Ajide, Anthonia T. Odeleye, Abayomi A. Ayoade
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The sub-Saharan African region is blessed with abundant natural resources and diverse ethnic groups, yet the region is dominated by the largest number of poor people worldwide due to inequitable distribution of national income. Existing statistics forecast decay in the quality of lives over the years compared to the continent of Asia that shares similar history with the region. In this paper, a-five dimensional first-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations was formulated to give insight into various factors that shaped dynamics of inclusive growth in sub-Saharan Africa. The validity test was performed based on ample mathematical theorems and the model was …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we introduce and study the existence and uniqueness theorem of the solution for the fractional Newell-Whitehead-Segel equation within Caputo-Fabrizio fractional operator. Also, we propose a new numerical method known as natural reduced differential transform method (NRDTM) for solving this equation. We confirm our theoretical discussion with two numerical examples in order to achieve the validity and accuracy of the proposed method. The computations, associated with these examples, are performed by MATLAB software package.

(R1412) Stability And Bifurcation Of A Cholera Epidemic Model With Saturated Recovery Rate, Huda Abdul-Satar, Raid K. Naji
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, a Cholera epidemic model is proposed and studied analytically as well as numerically. It is assumed that the disease is transmitted by contact with Vibrio cholerae and infected person according to dose-response function. However, the saturated treatment function is used to describe the recovery process. Moreover, the vaccine against the disease is assumed to be utterly ineffective. The existence, uniqueness and boundedness of the solution of the proposed model are discussed. All possible equilibrium points and the basic reproduction number are determined. The local stability and persistence conditions are established. Lyapunov method and the second additive compound …

Qualitative Analysis Of A Modified Leslie-Gower Predator-Prey Model With Weak Allee Effect Ii, Manoj K. Singh, B. S. Bhadauria
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The article aims to study a modified Leslie-Gower predator-prey model with Allee effect II, affecting the functional response with the assumption that the extent to which the environment provides protection to both predator and prey is the same. The model has been studied analytically as well as numerically, including stability and bifurcation analysis. Compared with the predator-prey model without Allee effect, it is found that the weak Allee effect II can bring rich and complicated dynamics, such as the model undergoes to a series of bifurcations (Homoclinic, Hopf, Saddle-node and Bogdanov-Takens). The existence of Hopf bifurcation has been shown for …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, a systematic approach to investigate the anti-synchronization among identical Hamiltonian chaotic systems has been proposed by using adaptive control method (ACM). Initially an adaptive controller and parameter update law are described to achieve asymptotical stability of state variables of given system with uncertain parameters using Lyapunov stability theory (LST). In addition, numerical simulations using MATLAB software are performed to validate the efficacy and effectiveness of the designed technique. Moreover, the proposed technique has numerous applications in encryption and secure communication.

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
We construct a new model for the comprehension of the Covid-19 dynamics in Cameroon. We present the basic reproduction number and perform some numerical analysis on the possible outcomes of the epidemic. The major results are the possibilities to have several peaks before the end of the first outbreak for an uniform strategy, and the danger to have a severe peak after the adoption of a careless strategy of barrier anti-Covid-19 measures that follow a good containment period.

Global Stability Of Generalized Within-Host Chikungunya Virus Dynamics Models, Taofeek O. Alade, Afeez Abidemi, Cemil Tunç, Shafeek A. Ghaleb
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This paper proposes two models of a general nonlinear within-host Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) dynamics. The production, incidence, proliferation and removal rates of all compartments are modeled by general nonlinear functions that satisfy a set of reasonable conditions. The second model takes into consideration two forms of infected host cells: (i) latently infected cells which do not produce the CHIKV, (ii) actively infected cells which generate the CHIKV particles. We show that all the solutions of the models are nonnegative and bounded. The global stability of the steady states of the models is proven by applying Lyapunov method and LaSalle’s invariance …

In this paper, we deal with a wavelet operational method based on Haar wavelet to solve the fuzzy fractional differential equation in the Caputo derivative sense. To this end, we derive the Haar wavelet operational matrix of the fractional order integration. The given approach provides an efficient method to find the solution and its upper bond error. To complete the discussion, the convergence theorem is subsequently expressed in detail. So far, no paper has used the Harr wavelet method using generalized difference and fuzzy derivatives, and this is the first time we have done so. Finally, the presented examples reflect …

Numerical Technique For Solving Fractional-Order Of Ivgtt Glucose-Insulin Interaction, M. A. Abdelkawy
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we use a numerical technique to solve fractional nonlinear differential equations systems that arise in Bergman’s minimal model that describe blood glucose and insulin metabolism, after intravenous tolerance testing. Shifted Jacobi -Gauss-Radau collocation (SJ-GR-C) method is developed for approximating the proposed model. The principal target in our technique is to transform the proposed model to a system of algebraic equations. Finally, numerical simulation is introduced to illustrate the analytical results.

Axisymmetric Thermoelastic Response In A Semi-Elliptic Plate With Kassir’S Nonhomogeneity In The Thickness Direction, Sonal Bhoyar, Vinod Varghese, Lalsingh Khalsa
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The main objective is to investigate the transient thermoelastic reaction in a nonhomogeneous semi-elliptical elastic plate heated sectionally on the upper side of the semi-elliptic region. It has been assumed that the thermal conductivity, calorific capacity, elastic modulus and thermal coefficient of expansion were varying through thickness of the nonhomogeneous material according to Kassir’s nonhomogeneity relationship. The transient heat conduction differential equation is solved using an integral transformation technique in terms of Mathieu functions. In these formulations, modified total strain energy is obtained by incorporating the resulting moment and force within the energy term, thus reducing the step of the …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we design a procedure to investigate the hybrid projective synchronization (HPS) technique among two identical hyper-chaotic systems. An adaptive control method (ACM) is pro- posed which is based on Lyapunov stability theory (LST). The considered technique globally determines the asymptotical stability and establishes identification of parameter simultaneously via HPS approach. Additionally, numerical simulations are carried out for visualizing the effectiveness and feasibility of discussed scheme by using MATLAB.

Estimation Of Transmission Dynamics Of Covid-19 In India: The Influential Saturated Incidence Rate, - Tanvi, Rajiv Aggarwal, Ashutosh Rajput
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
A non-linear SEIR mathematical model for coronavirus disease in India has been proposed, by incorporating the saturated incidence rate on the occurrence of new infections. In the model, the threshold quantity known as the reproduction number is evaluated which determines the stability of disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium points. The disease-free equilibrium point becomes globally asymptotically stable when the corresponding reproduction number is less than unity, whereas, if it is greater than unity then the endemic equilibrium point comes into existence, which is locally asymptotically stable under certain restrictions on the parameters value in the model. The impact of …

Impulse Effect On The Food-Limited Population Model With Piecewise Constant Argument, Fatma Karakoç
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The qualitative study of mathematical models is an important area in applied mathematics. In this paper, a version of the food-limited population model with piecewise constant argument under impulse effect is investigated. Differential equations with piecewise constant arguments are related to difference equations. First, a representation for the solutions of the food-limited population model is stated in terms of the solutions of corresponding difference equation. Then using linearized oscillation theory for difference equations, a sufficient condition for the oscillation of the solutions about positive equilibrium point is obtained. Moreover, asymptotic behavior of the non-oscillatory solutions are investigated. Later, applying the …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we shall apply symmetry analysis to some first order functional differential equations with constant coefficients. The approach used in this paper accounts for obtaining the inverse of the classification. We define the standard Lie bracket and make a complete classification of some first order linear functional differential equations with constant coefficients to solvable Lie algebras. We also classify some nonlinear functional differential equations with constant coefficients to solvable Lie algebras.

In this paper an eco-epidemiological model incorporating a prey refuge and prey harvesting with disease in the prey-population is considered. Predators are assumed to consume both the susceptible and infected prey at different rates. The positivity and boundedness of the solution of the system are discussed. The existence and stability of the biologically feasible equilibrium points are investigated. Numerical simulations are performed to support our analytical findings.

We consider here generalized Lotka-Volterra system containing two predators and one prey population existing in nature. An active control design is investigated which is essentially based on Lyapunov stability theory. The considered technique derives the global asymptotic stability using hybrid projective combination synchronization technique. In addition, the presented simulation outcomes and graphical results illustrate the validation of our proposed scheme. Prominently, both the analytical and computational results agree excellently. Comparisons versus others strategies exhibiting our proposed technique …

Variants Of Meir-Keeler Fixed Point Theorem And Applications Of Soft Set-Valued Maps, Akbar Azam, Mohammed Shehu Shagari
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we prove a Meir-Keeler type common fixed point theorem for two mappings for which the range set of the first one is a family of soft sets, called soft set-valued map and the second is a point-to-point mapping. In addition, it is also shown that under some suitable conditions, a soft set-valued map admits a selection having a unique fixed point. In support of the obtained result, nontrivial examples are provided. The novelty of the presented idea herein is that it extends the Meir-Keeler fixed point theorem and the theory of selections for multivalued mappings from the …
