(R2147) Effect Of Mass Variation With Log-Logistic Distribution In Perturbed Interacting Cr3bp, Abdullah Abdullah, Majhar Ali, S. K. Sahdev

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This paper investigates the motion of the infinitesimal body in the perturbed restricted three-body problem where the primary is heterogeneous in shape and secondary is with modified Newtonian potential. With the use of log-logistic distribution, space-time transformation and the above-said perturbations, we determine the equations of motion and quasi-Jacobian integral. Further, we numerically perform the locations of equilibrium points, their stability, regions of motion, periodic orbits and Poincaré surfaces of section.

(R2155) Mathematical Insights Into Cancer Cells Growth Stability And Chaos, Pardeep Kumar, Kashish Agarwal, Tripti Anand, Sarita Jha

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this research paper, we examined a recently proposed three-dimensional dynamical model of cancer cell growth that explicitly couples the populations of tumour cells, healthy host cells, and immune cells (Pardeep et al.). We aim to elucidate the model’s novel biological features relative to classical tumour–immune interaction models and to characterize its dynamical regimes. This model is governed by nonlinear differential equations featuring a quadratic tumour proliferation term and bilinear coupling terms for tumour–immune and tumour–host interactions. Then, we performed the rigorous analysis by solving the fixed-point equations and from the Jacobian matrices at the resulting equilibria to identify the …

(R2159) A Novel Extension Of Picard’S Method For Fractional Initial Value Problems With Convergence Analysis On Finite And Infinite Intervals, Jag Mohan, Anju Sood

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In recent years, fractional differential equations have emerged as powerful tools for modeling phenomena with memory and hereditary effects, owing to their non-local characteristics. These equations excel in tackling intricate problems across physics, engineering, and other fields. As analytical solutions are often infeasible, numerical methods play a vital role in their practical application. In this study, we have generalized Picard’s method to address fractional differential initial value problems with Caputo derivative, establishing an existence and uniqueness theorem applicable to both finite and infinite intervals. To substantiate our findings, we provide an example with graphical evidence demonstrating the convergence of the …

(R2134) Continuous Shooting Approach With Improved Shooting Slope For Solving Higher Integer Order Boundary Value Problem, Razaq Adekola Oderinu, Adebowale Niyi Aderibigbe, Saheed Alao, Ahmed Adeyi Yahaya

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This study presents a semi-analytical shooting method for solving nonlinear higher-order boundary value problems by integrating the Adomian Decomposition Method into the shooting technique, enabling series-form solutions. To enhance convergence, new higher-order shooting slopes and their corresponding supplementary equation formulas were introduced. Three numerical examples demonstrated the method’s accuracy: for the first two, absolute errors were computed using available exact solutions, while the third was compared with reference literature due to the absence of an exact solution. The method achieved very small absolute errors in the first two cases, and results from the third closely matched the literature. Tolerance values—defined …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this manuscript, we discuss new conditions for asymptotic stability of nonlinear Riemann- Liouville fractional mixed-delay neutral singular systems. By constructing a set of improved Lyapunov-Krasovski˘ı functionals (LKFs), we establish some new delay-dependent conditions in terms of matrix inequality, which guarantees that the systems are asymptotically stable. In the particular case, we give four numerical examples with their solutions and graphs via MATLAB software demonstrating the practical applicability of these proven conditions. With this study, some conditions existing in the literature are developed and generalized.

By analyzing the model’s qualitative behavior, we establish a biological threshold number that can predict whether CHIKV will be cleared from or persist in the body. We demonstrate the global stability of both CHIKV-present and CHIKV-free steady states …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

A nonlinear mathematical model to study the effect of transmission dynamics of COVID-19 virus in a population with variable size structure is proposed and analyzed. The model divides the total human population into five subclasses: susceptibles, self-protected susceptibles, infectives, quarantined infectives, and recovered population including a class representing cumulative density of coronavirus in the environmental reservoir. The model exhibits two equilibria, namely, the diseasefree and the endemic equilibrium. Model analysis reveals the global dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 is completely determined by the basic reproduction number. If basic reproduction number is greater than one, the endemic equilibrium is locally …

This paper has proposed a mathematical model with fractional order derivatives by correlating the model based number of infectives with the real number of infectives in India. For the system of fractional differential equations, a disease-free state has been computed and proved to be locally asymptotically stable with certain …

(R1522) Modelling The Influence Of Desertic Aerosols On The Transmission Dynamics Of Neisseria Meningitidis Serogroup A, Francis Signing, Berge Tsanou, Samuel Bowong

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

This paper assesses the role of desert aerosols and vaccine on the transmission dynamics of Neisseria Meningitis serogroup A (NmA). It is biologically well-documented that the inhalation of aerosol dust and its presence in the nasal cavity weakens the nasopharyngeal mucosa by damaging the mucosal barrier and inhibiting the mucosal immune defenses of susceptible and vaccinated individuals. We address the latter by proposing and analyzing a mathematical model for the dynamics of NmA that specifically accounts for the fast progression of susceptible and vaccinated individuals to the invasive stage of the disease. We compute the basic reproduction number and use …
