Partial Least Squares (Pls) Generalized Linear Dalam Regresi Logistik, Retno Subekti
Partial Least Squares (Pls) Generalized Linear Dalam Regresi Logistik, Retno Subekti

Bifurkasi Hopf Dalam Model Epidemi Dengan Waktu Tundaan Diskret, Rubono Setiawan

Partial Wave Analysis Of The Reaction Γp→Pω And The Search For Nucleon Resonances, M. Williams, Gerard P. Gilfoyle, Et. Al.
Physics Faculty Publications
An event-based partial wave analysis (PWA) of the reaction γp → pω has been performed on a high-statistics dataset obtained using the CLAS at Jefferson Lab for center-of-mass energies from threshold up to 2.4 GeV. This analysis benefits from access to the world’s first high-precision spin-density matrix element measurements, available to the event-based PWA through the decay distribution of ω → π +π −π0. The data confirm the dominance of the t-channel π0 exchange amplitude in the forward direction. The dominant resonance contributions are consistent with the previously identified states F15(1680) and …

Differential Cross Sections And Spin Density Matrix Elements For The Reaction Γp→Pω, M. Williams, Gerard P. Gilfoyle, Et. Al.
Physics Faculty Publications
High-statistics differential cross sections and spin-density matrix elements for the reaction γp → pω have been measured using the CEBAF large acceptance spectrometer (CLAS) at Jefferson Lab for center-of-mass (c.m.) energies from threshold up to 2.84 GeV. Results are reported in 112 10-MeV wide c.m. energy bins, each subdivided into cos θωc.m. bins of width 0.1. These are the most precise and extensive ω photoproduction measurements to date. A number of prominent structures are clearly present in the data. Many of these have not previously been observed due to limited statistics in earlier measurements.

Highly Nitrated Cyclopropanes As New High Energy Materials: Dft Calculations On The Properties Of C3H6−N(No2)N (N=3–6), Aloysus K. Lawong, David W. Ball
Chemistry Faculty Publications
As part of a continuing study of new potential high energy materials, here we present results of calculations on cyclopropane molecules with three or more nitro groups. DFT calculations suggest that all molecules can exist as minimum-energy stationary states. Energy calculations indicate that some nitrocyclopropanes have a specific enthalpy of decomposition in excess of 8kJg−1, suggesting that they be explored as new potential high energy materials.
Equalization Of Loudspeakers And Enclosed Sound Fields, Xi Chen
Equalization Of Loudspeakers And Enclosed Sound Fields, Xi Chen
Theses and Dissertations
Equalization of loudspeakers and enclosed sound fields has been a topic of considerable interest for decades. Confusion has often arisen among audio professionals regarding the feasibility of simultaneously equalizing a loudspeaker and the enclosed field (i.e., the “room”) it excites. Because of frustrations encountered in such efforts, some have advocated abandoning simultaneous equalization altogether. This dissertation discusses the drawbacks of this approach as well as traditional in situ equalization methods. It demonstrates that many problems with traditional equalization stem from the use of measured acoustic pressure at a discrete point in a sound field as the system output. The dissertation …

We study the strong coupling of light and nanoparticle suspensions and their surface tension effect in capillaries. We show experimentally and theoretically that increasing the intensity of a narrow laser beam passing through a capillary far away from the surface results in a significant decrease in the fluid level. The underlying mechanism relies on light-induced redistribution of nanoparticles in the bulk and the surface of the fluid, facilitating continuous optical control over the surface position. The experiments manifest optical control from afar over properties of fluid surfaces.

Polymeric Ionic Liquids As Co2 Selective Sorbent Coatings For Solid-Phase Microextraction, Qichao Zhao, Jonathan C. Wajert, Jared L. Anderson
Jared L. Anderson
Two polymeric ionic liquids (PIL) were synthesized and employed as sorbent coatings in solid-phase microextraction (SPME) for the selective extraction of CO2. The two coatings, poly(1-vinyl-3-hexylimidazolium) bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide [poly(VHIM-NTf2)] and poly(1-vinyl-3-hexylimidazolium) taurate [poly(VHIM-taurate)], exhibited varied selectivity toward CO2 due to functional groups within in the PIL that imparted different mechanisms of CO2 capture. Extraction efficiencies were compared to those of two commercial SPME fibers [poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and Carboxen−PDMS]. The poly(VHIM-NTf2) PIL fiber exhibited comparable extraction efficiency at high CO2 pressure compared to the Carboxen−PDMS fiber, even though the PIL-based fibers possessed much smaller film thicknesses. Calibration curves generated in pure CO2 …

Double Superhelix Model Of High Density Lipoprotein, Zhiping Wu, Valentin Gogonea, Xavier Lee, Mathew A. Wagner
Chemistry Faculty Publications
High density lipoprotein (HDL), the carrier of so-called “good” cholesterol, serves as the major athero-protective lipoprotein and has emerged as a key therapeutic target for cardiovascular disease. We applied small angle neutron scattering (SANS) with contrast variation and selective isotopic deuteration to the study of nascent HDL to obtain the low resolution structure in solution of the overall time-averaged conformation of apolipoprotein AI (apoA-I) versus the lipid (acyl chain) core of the particle. Remarkably, apoA-I is observed to possess an open helical shape that wraps around a central ellipsoidal lipid phase. Using the low resolution SANS shapes of the protein …

Classical Modeling Of Non-Sequential Double Ionization: Recollision, Time-Delayed Ionization, Drift, And Possible Reattachment, Stanley L. Haan, Z. S. Smith, K. N. Shomsky, P. W. Plantinga
University Faculty Publications and Creative Works
We employ 3d classical ensembles to study Non-Sequential Double Ionization (NSDI) of atoms by strong laser fields at visible and infrared wavelengths. We consider in particular the wavelength dependence of final electron drift directions and the net momentum spectra parallel to the laser polarization. We find that as the wavelength is increased the spectrum transitions from a singlet to a doublet, then to a triplet, and finally back to a doublet. We also show that electrons that escape the central potential-energy well during the pulse may nonetheless be bound to the nucleus after laser turnoff.

Photoassociation Spectroscopy Of Purely Long-Range Krypton Molecules, Z. Smith, J. Banister, R. Norman, K. Hoogeboom
University Faculty Publications and Creative Works
Photoassociation spectra for purely long-range (PLR) krypton molecules are both computed and measured. The photoassociation laser is tuned just red of the 5s[3/2]2-5p[5/2]2 transition at 810.6 nm, over a frequency range in which fourteen different PLR potential wells support hundreds of vibrational bound states. In the experiment, laser light is directed into a cloud of magneto-optically trapped 84Kr atoms, and the emission of both ultraviolet photons and ions is monitored. Peaks in these signals are observed for laser frequencies within 200 MHz of the atomic resonance. Ongoing work is aimed at improving the experimental signal and understanding the degree of …

Towards Extending The Equilibrium Of Discrimination In The Internet To Its Fringes, Matthias Bärwolff
Towards Extending The Equilibrium Of Discrimination In The Internet To Its Fringes, Matthias Bärwolff
Matthias Bärwolff
The core insight to the history of the dynamics of limitations, restrictions, and discriminations on the Internet is that they are largely a corollary to the futility of obtaining an entirely 'neutral' design of the Internet that is both robust and scalable. The question then is how to arrange the necessary volume of discriminations so as to obtain a design as value free as possible, for only such a design can be in line with the premise of stipulating no values other than (1) good order at large, and (2) the appreciation of the pursuit of local purposes by individuals. …

We present precision radial velocity data that reveal a multiple exoplanet system orbiting the bright nearby G5V star 61 Virginis. Our 4.6 years of combined Keck/HIRES and Anglo-Australian Telescope precision radial velocities indicate the hitherto unknown presence of at least three planets orbiting this well-studied star. These planets are all on low-eccentricity orbits with periods of 4.2, 38.0, and 124.0 days, and projected masses (Msin i) of 5.1, 18.2, and 24.0 M⊕, respectively. Test integrations of systems consistent with the radial velocity data suggest that the configuration is dynamically stable. Depending on the effectiveness of tidal dissipation within the inner …

Metallic nitride fullerenes (MNFs) and oxometallic fullerenes (OMFs) react quickly with an array of Lewis acids. Empty-cage fullerenes are largely unreactive under conditions used in this study. The reactivity order is Sc4O2@Ih-C80 > Sc3N@C78 > Sc3N@C68 > Sc3N@D5h-C80 > Sc3N@Ih-C80. Manipulations of Lewis acids, molar ratios, and kinetic differences within the family of OMF and MNF metallofullerenes are demonstrated in a selective precipitation scheme, which can be used either alone for purifying Sc3N@Ih …

The macrocyclic ligand 3,6,9-tris(methylenebutyl phosphonic acid)-3,6,9−15-tetraazabicyclo [9.3.1]pentadeca-1(15),11,13-triene (PCTMB) was synthesized and complexes of Eu3+, Tb3+, and Gd3+ studied by X-ray crystallography, luminescence, and relaxometry. In the crystal these complexes are dimeric and possess 8-coordinate Ln3+ centers that are linked by bridging phosphonates. The rigidity introduced by the pyridyl nucleus forces the EuPCTMB and TbPCTMB to adopt a twisted snub disphenoid (TSD) coordination geometry. Examination of the 5D0 → 7F0 luminescent transition of EuPCTMB in the solid state confirmed the existence of a single distinct Eu3+ coordination environment, whereas two …

Determination Of The Activation Parameters Of Reaction Between [Fe(Cn6]-4 And K[Co(Hedta)No2]., Sammy Eni Eni
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The kinetics of the oxidation of [Fe(CN)6]-4 by K[Co(HEDTA)NO2] was studied in order to get the mechanism and the activation parameters of the reaction. Using a freshly-made Na3PO4 solution as the reaction medium with a pH of 6.00 the ionic strength was maintained at 0.10 M and the buffer molarity was 0.001 M.
The rate constant (kobs) of the reaction between [Fe(CN)6]-4 and K[Co(HEDTA)NO2] was determined at temperatures of 25.0°C, 27.5°C, 30.0°C, 35.0°, and 40.0°C. We explored this reaction by monitoring the evolution of ferricyanide, …

Predicting Flavonoid Ugt Regioselectivity With Graphical Residue Models And Machine Learning., Arthur Rhydon Jackson
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Machine learning is applied to a challenging and biologically significant protein classification problem: the prediction of flavonoid UGT acceptor regioselectivity from primary protein sequence. Novel indices characterizing graphical models of protein residues are introduced. The indices are compared with existing amino acid indices and found to cluster residues appropriately. A variety of models employing the indices are then investigated by examining their performance when analyzed using nearest neighbor, support vector machine, and Bayesian neural network classifiers. Improvements over nearest neighbor classifications relying on standard alignment similarity scores are reported.

Vitis Seeds (Vitaceae) From The Late Neogene Gray Fossil Site, Northeastern Tennessee, Usa., Fade Gong
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This study focuses on the morphometric and systematic studies of fossil vitaceous seeds recently recovered from the Gray Fossil Site (7-4.5 Ma, latest Miocene-earliest Pliocene) northeastern Tennessee. Morphologically, all fossil seeds correspond to the extant subgenus Vitis (genus Vitis) of the Vitaceae based on the smooth dorsal surface with a centrally positioned chalaza connected with a conspicuous chalaza-apex groove and short linear ventral infolds that are slightly diverged apically. A multivariate analysis based on 11 measured characters from 76 complete seeds identified three types of seeds, each representing a distinct morphotaxon. Based on comparison with modern and fossil vitaceous …
