Effect Of Development Time On Polymer Phase Separation In A Pmma Resist, Mohammad Naeem Khalid, Shazia Yasin, Mohammad Riaz Khan Jan 2004

Effect Of Development Time On Polymer Phase Separation In A Pmma Resist, Mohammad Naeem Khalid, Shazia Yasin, Mohammad Riaz Khan

Turkish Journal of Physics

Developer composition type and development technique are known to influence surface and edge roughness in polymethylemethacrylate (PMMA); and it is during development, we believe, that the result is most influenced by the phase separation into polymer-rich and polymer-poor regions. This polymer phase separation is more prominent in a weaker developer and low temperature. In this paper, we investigate the effect of development time on the extent of polymer phase separation in an exposed PMMA developed in a standard developer i.e. 1:3 MIBK:IPA at 20 °C and rinsed in pure IPA for 30 sec. The polymer phase separation is found to …

Analysis Of Rgu Photometry In Selected Area 51, Selçuk Bi̇li̇r, Sali̇h Karaali̇, R. Buser

Turkish Journal of Physics

A low-latitude anticenter field (l = 189°, b = +21°) is investigated by using the full calibration tools of RGU photometry. The observed RGU data are reduced to the standard system and the separation of dwarfs and evolved stars is carried out by an empirical method. Stars are categorized into three metallicity classes, i.e. -0.25

Empirical Models For The Correlation Of Monthly Average Daily Global Solar Radiation With Hours Of Sunshine On A Horizontal Surface At Karachi, Pakistan, Firoz Ahmed, Intikhab Ulfat

Turkish Journal of Physics

A new set of constants for Angstrom-type correlation of first and second order, to estimate monthly average daily global solar radiation, has been obtained employing sunshine hours data recorded at Karachi, Pakistan (Lat. 24^° 54' N, Long. 67^° 08' E). Least square regression is performed to derive these constants. The correlation equations developed are employed to calculate the monthly average daily global solar radiation. These results are then compared with various other existing correlations and the measured data. Excellent agreement has been found between the estimated and the measured values.

Thermochemical And Green Luminescence Analysis Of Zinc Oxide Thin Films Grown On Sapphire By Chemical Vapor Deposition, Abdelkader Djelloul, R. A. Rabadanov

Turkish Journal of Physics

This study has been carried out to detail an integral thermochemical analysis of the principal reaction in the production of zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films, including developing an analytical form of the equilibrium constant. Zinc oxide thin films prepared by chemical vapor deposition have been studied in terms of deposition time and substrate temperature. The growth of the single-crystal films present two regimes depending on the substrate temperature, with increasing constant growth rates at lower, and higher, temperature ranges, respectively. Growth rates above 6 \mu m \cdot min^{-1} can be achieved at T_s = 880 K. The variation of the …

Polar Optical Phonon Modes And Fröhlich Electron-Phonon Interaction Hamiltonians In Coaxial Cylindrical Quantum Cables, Li Zhang, Hong-Jing Xie Jan 2004

Polar Optical Phonon Modes And Fröhlich Electron-Phonon Interaction Hamiltonians In Coaxial Cylindrical Quantum Cables, Li Zhang, Hong-Jing Xie

Turkish Journal of Physics

By using the dielectric continuum approximation, the polar optical phonon modes of coaxial cylindrical quantum cables with arbitrary layer-number were studied. In order to describe the vibrating of the longitudinal-optical (LO) phonons, a set of legitimate eigenfunctions for LO phonon modes are constructed and adopted. In order to deal with the interface optical (IO) phonon modes, the transfer matrix method is employed. The quantized LO and IO phonons fields, as well as their corresponding Fröhlich electron-phonon interaction Hamiltonians, are also derived. Numerical calculations on a four-layer GaAs/Al_xGa_{1-x}As QC have been performed. Results reveal that there are six branches of IO …

Single Mode Optical Radiation Distribution And Reflectivity Calculations In Novel-Hot Electron Light Emission And Lasing In Semiconductor Heterostructures Vcsels, Ebru Şenadim Tüzemen, Yüksel Ergun

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this work, we calculate the power reflectivity in vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) using a new method. In VCSELs, the stop band of the reflectivity spectrum should exhibit a dip at the lasing wavelength, which is a condition for lasing. This current approximation method gives a simple analytical expression to find the power reflectivity as a function of wavelength in the vicinity of lasing wavelength, \lambda_°. The proposed method can generally be applied to semiconductor VCSEL systems for a given lasing wavelength.

The Zero Position Of The Forward-Backward Asymmetry In The B \Rightarrow K\Ell^+\Ell^- Decay With New Physics Effects, Altuğ Arda Jan 2004

The Zero Position Of The Forward-Backward Asymmetry In The B \Rightarrow K\Ell^+\Ell^- Decay With New Physics Effects, Altuğ Arda

Turkish Journal of Physics

Using the most general model-independent effective Hamiltonian comprising local four-Fermi operators (scalar, vector, and tensor operators), we study the sensitivity of the zero position of the lepton asymmetry to the new operators beyond the Standard Model (SM) in the B \rightarrow K\ell^+\ell^- decay. It is found that among all operators, only the scalar and tensor operators contribute to the forward-backward asymmetry, in which case the forward-backward asymmetry has a non-vanishing value.

Physical Characteristics Of Polymer Magnetic Microspheres, Rasim A. Ali-Zade Jan 2004

Physical Characteristics Of Polymer Magnetic Microspheres, Rasim A. Ali-Zade

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this study the structure and the magnetic properties of polymer microspheres, filled with magnetite nanoparticles are investigated. Average particle size of magnetite nanoparticles before and after being introduced into polymer microspheres, and the distance between nanoparticles in the polymer microspheres, are measured. Magnetization curve of polymer magnetic microspheres (PMMS) is determined. The magnetic susceptibility of PMMS with various diameters, and the dependence of PMMS magnetic susceptibility on diameter are determined. Magnetization occurs due to the orientation of PMMS as a magnetic moment. The total magnetic moment of PMMS is the sum of magnetic moments of PMMS sections which consist …

Simulation Of Millimeter-Wave Gunn Oscillations In Gallium Nitride, Cem Sevi̇k, Ceyhun Bulutay Jan 2004

Simulation Of Millimeter-Wave Gunn Oscillations In Gallium Nitride, Cem Sevi̇k, Ceyhun Bulutay

Turkish Journal of Physics

High field transport in wide bandgap semiconductors like GaN is of great technological importance. The negative differential mobility regime at high fields, under suitable conditions, can lead to millimeter-wave Gunn oscillations. Using extensive simulation based an ensemble Monte Carlo technique, the prospects of GaN Gunn diodes are theoretically investigated. The possibility of operating these Gunn diodes at their higher harmonic modes are explored. The main finding of this research is that the carrier dynamics in GaN can be tailored by an optimum choice of doping profile, temperature and bias conditions so that the efficiency of higher harmonic Gunn oscillations can …

Electrical Properties Of Hydrogen Transport Vpe Grown N-Cdte Epilayers On Znte/Gaas, Murat Bayhan Jan 2004

Electrical Properties Of Hydrogen Transport Vpe Grown N-Cdte Epilayers On Znte/Gaas, Murat Bayhan

Turkish Journal of Physics

Electrical characterisation of n-CdTe epilayers grown by hydrogen transport vapour phase epitaxy (H_2T-VPE) on insulating ZnTe/(100)GaAs substrates through the temperature dependent Hall measurements is reported. Double-crystal X-ray diffraction assessments indicate the material high crystalline quality. Samples grown at temperatures, T_G < 650 °C were p-type, but appeared to be n-type for the temperatures above T_G > 650 °C. Hall measurements performed on n-type samples of different thicknesses grown at T_G = 764 °C showed room temperature carrier densities in the range of 10^{11}-10^{14} cm^{-3}. The electron density and Hall mobility characteristics may be in principle well explained with a two-level affective model. The model of scattering by lattice and ionised impurity were found to be limiting …

Structural Characterization And Magnetization Of Mg_{0.5}Cu_{0.5}Y_{X}Fe_{2-X}O_4 Ferrites, Mansour Al-Haj Jan 2004

Structural Characterization And Magnetization Of Mg_{0.5}Cu_{0.5}Y_{X}Fe_{2-X}O_4 Ferrites, Mansour Al-Haj

Turkish Journal of Physics

Mg_{0.5}Cu_{0.5}Y_xFe_{2-x}O_4 ferrites were prepared by the solid state reaction method and were characterized by X-ray diffraction and magnetization measurements. A single spinel phase was obtained in the range 0 \le x \le 0.08. The lattice parameter was found to increase with the increase of x except at x = 0.08, which may indicate a distortion in the spinel lattice. The saturation magnetization was found to decrease with increasing x due to replacement of the magnetic Fe^{3+} ions by the nonmagnetic Y^{3+} ions.

Calorimetric Studies Of The Crystallization Growth Process In Glassy Se_{70}Te_{30-X}Ag_X Alloys, N. Mehta, D. Kumar, A. Kumar

Turkish Journal of Physics

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is performed at different heating rates under non-isothermal conditions to study the crystallization kinetics of Se_{.70}Te_{.26}Ag_{.04} and Se_{.70}Te_{.24}Ag_{.06} chalcogenide glasses in terms of the activation energy of nucleation and growth process. To understand the nucleation and growth process, the values of the growth morphology parameter n and the numerical factor m of crystallization mechanism have been evaluated using different non--isothermal methods. The values of n and m have been found to be nearly equal, indicating that the present glasses have sufficient nuclei before DSC experiment and the activation energy for nucleation process E_N is zero. Hence, …

Cyclotron Resonant Heating And Acceleration Of Protons, O Vi & Mg X Ions In The North Polar Coronal Hole, E. Rennan Pekünlü, Kadri̇ Yakut, Hi̇cran Şart

Turkish Journal of Physics

Ultraviolet Coronograph Spectrometer aboard Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) has revealed the existence of temperature anisotropy of many minor ion species that populate the north solar polar coronal hole. In this study, we examined the propagation characteristics of ion-cyclotron waves which resonate with protons, O VI and Mg X ions. In our empirical model, radial variation of the magnetic field, electron and ion number densities, perpendicular and parallel temperature of protons, O VI and Mg X ions are adopted from the measurements of various instruments aboard SOHO. Since most of the measurements of SOHO instruments begin at 1.5 R (=r/R_{\odot}) …
