การวิจัยนี้เป็นแบบกึ่งทดลองวัดเฉพาะหลังการทดลองแบบมีกลุ่มเปรียบเทียบ เพื่อเปรียบเทียบพฤติกรรมป้องกันภาวะตัวเหลืองซ้ำและระดับบิลิรูบินในเลือดของทารกแรกเกิดที่ได้รับการส่องไฟ ระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองที่ได้รับโปรแกรมส่งเสริมการรับรู้ความสามารถของมารดา และกลุ่มควบคุมที่ได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นมารดาและทารกแรกเกิดครบกำหนดที่มีภาวะตัวเหลืองและได้รับการรักษาด้วยการส่องไฟ ในโรงพยาบาลราชพิพัฒน์ สำนักการแพทย์ กรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 30 คู่ คัดเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างตามสะดวก และคัดเข้าด้วยวิธีจับฉลาก โดยจับคู่ (Matched pairs) ให้มีความคล้ายคลึงกันด้านระดับการศึกษา แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 15 คู่ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) โปรแกรมส่งเสริมการรับรู้ความสามารถของมารดา 2) แบบสอบถามการรับรู้ความสามารถของมารดา 3) แบบสอบถามพฤติกรรมป้องกันภาวะตัวเหลืองซ้ำในทารกแรกเกิดที่ได้รับการส่องไฟ และ 4) แบบติดตามระดับ บิลิรูบินในเลือดทารก ซึ่งได้ผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 5 คน แบบสอบถามทั้ง 2 ฉบับมีค่า CVI เท่ากับ 0.88 และ 0.97 ตามลำดับ และมีค่าความเที่ยง (Cronbach's alpha coefficient) เท่ากับ 0.92 และ 0.95 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลคะแนนเฉลี่ยพฤติกรรมป้องกันภาวะตัวเหลืองซ้ำในทารกแรกเกิดที่ได้รับการส่องไฟ และค่าเฉลี่ยระดับบิลิรูบินในเลือดของทารก โดยใช้สถิติ Independent t-test ผลการวิจัย พบว่ามารดากลุ่มทดลอง มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยพฤติกรรมป้องกันภาวะตัวเหลืองซ้ำในทารกแรกเกิดที่ได้รับการส่องไฟสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 และทารกในกลุ่มทดลองมีระดับบิลิรูบินในเลือด ณ วันที่มาตรวจติดตาม ต่ำกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01

Antimicrobial resistance is rising while new drug development declines, making antimicrobial stewardship crucial for optimizing use, preventing resistance, and improving patient outcomes. Antibiotics are vital for bacterial infections, but overuse and inappropriate prescribing have contributed to resistance. Although 5-35% of the global population reports β-lactam allergies, over 90% of reports are inaccurate. Adults have the highest prevalence; however, these labels are often acquired in childhood, with a notable increase among children recently. Unverified allergy labels hinder antimicrobial stewardship, leading to longer hospital stays, alternative prescribing, and a higher risk of adverse events.

On Sept. 3, 1973, a fire swept through the baghouse of the Bunker Hill mine in Idaho’s Silver Valley. The building was designed to filter pollutants produced by smelting, the melting of rocks that separates metal from its ore. The gases produced in this process carried poisons, including lead.

At the time, the prices of lead and silver were climbing toward all-time highs. Rather than wait for new filters and repairs, company officials kept the mine running. They increased production, bypassed the filtration steps and, for eleven months, dumped noxious gases directly into the surrounding area.

Problem: Every year, there are many in-hospital falls (IHFs). Nationally there are between 700,000 to 1 million falls recorded each year. Hospital falls financially burden our healthcare industry, costing approximately 34 billion annually. Context: In a local hospital in Northern California, Marin County, the microsystem has had an extraordinary number of in-hospital falls (IHFs). To date (June 2023), 13 falls have been recorded thus far; the microsystem is on track to beat the previous year's record number of 21 falls in a calendar year. Child abuse and/or neglect (CAN) is a global problem. Although nurses are mandated CAN reporters, a lack of reporting has been an issue. New Mexico (NM) is faced with higher child poverty and CAN-related substance-abuse compared to other U.S. states. This quantitative study aimed to explore factors influencing intended/actual CAN reporting behaviors among NM registered nurses (RN)s, examine relationships of these factors, and compare differences in reporting behaviors between rural and urban locations. This study sought to explore the lived experiences of Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex (D-MER) during postpartum breastfeeding. A phenomenological method based on Giorgi’s phenomenological underpinnings was used. The setting for this study was virtual interviews in a secure online platform. The sample consisted of 13 participants, self-identifying as experiencing D-MER. Semi-structured interviews, with thematic analysis of transcription were conducted. Four major themes were identified: 1) Breastfeeding concessions and toleration; 2) Something does not feel “normal”; 3) I remember a feeling like this before 4) This is real, and recognition is validating.
