Many nursing students are encouraged to have a job in clinical settings in order to gain more experience. Objective: To investigate how small, local organisations were impacted by and responded to COVID-19 in their delivery of social care services to older adults (70 years and older). Lessons learnt and future implications are discussed. Methods: Six representatives from four social care services (five females and one male) participated in individual semistructured interviews. Responses were analysed thematically. Results: The key themes identified were service providers' experience, perceived needs of older adults and adapting services. Service providers positioned themselves as front-line essential workers for their older adult clients, resulting in some emotional toll and distress for the service providers. They provided …

Background: Studies show an association between agricultural occupational hazards and respiratory illnesses. Personal protective equipment (PPE) has protective effects, but limited education and inadequate respiratory protection are common among agricultural workers.
Methods: A demographic questionnaire and two pre-intervention surveys were initially administered to farmers and ranchers. The surveys measured attitude, knowledge, and behaviors related to respiratory safety and PPE practices. Pulmonary function testing, educational handouts, and respirator fit testing was provided in a variety of settings, and one N95 mask was given to each participant. Methods: A clinical protocol alongside tailored education was used to promote nurse competency for EVD management. Background: Monitoring fluid status may prevent adverse patient outcomes. Nurses and unlicensed staff are responsible for inpatient fluid status monitoring and documentation.
Methods: Registered nurses and unlicensed staff completed a pre-intervention questionnaire measuring their knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to fluid status monitoring. They then completed an education session on fluid status monitoring and the new protocol. This protocol includes use of a fluid balance chart, a standardized daily weight process, and allowed patient participation. The protocol was implemented for 2 months, and the questionnaire was completed again post implementation.

Methods: Weight management clinic patients were enrolled in the 6-week Walk with Ease (WWE) program. At the first session, each participant’s walking distance was measured over a 20-minute timeframe using pedometers. WWE group met 3 times weekly for six weeks for walking activities and with education on movement, mobility, and strength. The purpose of this dissertation research was to examine the associations among racial discrimination, social support, and psychological distress among Black pregnant women. The dissertation was guided by the Ecological Systems theory which has three domains that pertain to this research: individual, interpersonal, and community. A literature review was conducted to investigate what is known about the association between racial discrimination and psychological distress among Black pregnant women. This review found that seventeen of the nineteen studies included reported a positive association between racial discrimination and psychological distress among Black pregnant or postpartum women. การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยแบบพรรณนาเชิงความสัมพันธ์ เพื่อศึกษาความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุนและศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยคัดสรรได้แก่ อายุ สถานภาพสมรส ระดับการศึกษา ชนิดการรักษา ความวิตกกังวล ความทุกข์ทรมานจากอาการ และการสนับสนุนทางสังคมกับความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุนในผู้ที่เป็นมะเร็งเต้านมรายใหม่ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ที่เป็นมะเร็งเต้านมรายใหม่จำนวน 133 คนที่รับการรักษาในโรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย และโรงพยาบาลตำรวจ สุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยวิธีเลือกตามสะดวก เครื่องมือที่ใช้ ประกอบด้วย ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบสอบถามความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุน แบบสอบถามความวิตกกังวลตามสถานการณ์ แบบสอบถามความทุกข์ทรมานจากอาการ และแบบสอบถามการสนับสนุนทางสังคม มีค่าดัชนีความตรงตามเนื้อหาดังนี้ แบบประเมินความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุน เท่ากับ 0.88 แบบประเมินความทุกข์ทรมานจากอาการ เท่ากับ 0.8 และแบบสอบถามการสนับสนุนทางสังคมเท่ากับ 0.9 และหาค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาครอนบาค มีค่าเท่ากับ.96, .95, .85 และ 82 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ผู้ป่วยมะเร็งเต้านมรายใหม่มีความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุนในระดับน้อย (mean = 2.39, SD = 0.78) เมื่อแยกรายด้าน พบว่า ด้านที่มีความต้องการสูงสุดคือระบบสุขภาพและข้อมูล มีความต้องการระดับปานกลาง(mean = 3.09, SD = 1.15) รองลงมาคือด้านการดูแลผู้ป่วยและการสนับสนุน (mean = 2.80 SD = 1.22) ขณะที่ด้านที่มีความต้องการน้อยที่สุดคือเพศสัมพันธ์ (mean = 1.60, SD = 0.74) 2. ความวิตกกังวลและความทุกข์ทรมานจากอาการมีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05 (r = .40, .41 และ .45 ตามลำดับ) การสนับสนุนทางสังคมมีความสัมพันธ์ทางลบกับความต้องการการดูแลแบบสนับสนุนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05 (r = -.18) สำหรับปัจจัยที่ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์ได้แก่ อายุ สถานภาพ ระดับการศึกษา และการรักษา
