ความต้านทานการสึกกร่อนของรอยโรคจุดขาวจําลองของเคลือบฟันที่แทรกซึมโดยเรซินต่อเครื่องดื่มที่มีฤทธิ์เป็นกรด, จินตนาลักษณ์ พรโชติทวีทรัพย์, สุชิต พูลทอง

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบผลของความต้านทานการสึกกร่อนของรอยโรคจุดขาวจําลองกับรอยโรคจุด ขาวจําลองที่ถูกแทรกซึมโดยวัสดุเรซินไอคอน เมื่อสัมผัสกับเครื่องดื่มที่มีฤทธิ์เป็นกรด วัสดุและวิธีการ เตรียมชิ้นตัวอย่างจากฟันกรามน้อยของมนุษย์ที่ถูกถอนจํานวน 80 ซี่ สุ่มฟันเป็น 4 กลุ่มทดลอง ดังนี้ 1) แช่เครื่องดื่มน้ําอัดลมโคล่า 2) แช่เครื่องดื่มน้ําส้มคั้น 3) แช่เครื่องดื่มเกลือแร่ หรือ 4) แช่น้ําปราศจาก ประจุ เตรียมชิ้นฟันตัวอย่างโดยตัดตัวฟันในแนวดิ่งให้ได้ชิ้นตัวอย่างด้านใกล้กลางและด้านไกลกลางเป็น 2 ส่วนเท่า ๆ กัน นําชิ้นตัวอย่างมาฝังลงในเรซิ่นหล่อใสให้ด้านแก้มอยู่ใกล้ผิวด้านนอกของเรซิ่นหล่อใส ขัดเรซิน ออกจนผิวเคลือบฟันด้านแก้มโผล่จากเรซินหล่อใส และมีพื้นที่ประมาณ 1 X 1 ตารางมิลลิเมตร นําชิ้นตัวอย่าง มาแช่ในสารละลายเพื่อสร้างรอยโรคจุดขาวจําลองของผิวเคลือบฟัน โดยให้ชิ้นที่หนึ่งที่มาจากฟันซี่เดียวกัน ใช้วัสดุเรซินจากผลิตภัณฑ์ไอคอน ส่วนชิ้นที่เหลือไม่ใช้วัสดุใด และแช่ในเครื่องดื่มแต่ละชนิดดังที่กล่าวมา โดยแช่ เครื่องดื่มก่อน 5 วินาที ตามด้วยแช่น้ําลายเทียม 5 วินาที สลับกันไปรวมทั้งหมด 10 รอบ ทําซ้ําแบบเดิมอีกสอง รอบทุก ๆ 6 ชั่วโมง วัดค่าปริมาตรและความลึกเฉลี่ยที่เกิดขึ้นจากการสึกกร่อนของรอยโรคจําลองโดยใช้เครื่องวัด ความหยาบพื้นผิวโปรไฟโลมิเตอร์ ทําเช่นเดิมในเครื่องดื่มแต่ละชนิด นําค่าปริมาตรและความลึกเฉลี่ยที่ได้มา ทดสอบด้วยสถิติการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนสองทาง และสถิติการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียวร่วมกับสถิติ การเปรียบเทียบเชิงซ้อนแบบแทมเฮนที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ผลการทดลอง กลุ่มที่ใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์เรซินไอคอนที่แช่เครื่องดื่มที่มีฤทธิ์เป็นกรด มีค่าเฉลี่ยของปริมาตร และความ ลึกในการสึกกร่อนของเคลือบฟันมากกว่ากลุ่มที่ไม่ใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์เรซินไอคอนทุกกลุ่ม และพบว่ากลุ่มที่แช่ในเครื่องดื่ม โคลามีค่าเฉลี่ยของปริมาตรและความลึกในการสึกกร่อนมากที่สุด จากการทดสอบทางสถิติพบว่า การใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์เรซินไอคอนและชนิดของเครื่องดื่มมีผลต่อค่าเฉลี่ยของปริมาตรและความลึกในการสึกกร่อนอย่างมี นัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p < 0.0001) และยังเป็นปัจจัยร่วมทางสถิติ (p < 0.0001) สรุป การใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์เรซินไอคอนแทรกซึมเข้าไปในรอยโรคจุดขาวจําลองไม่สามารถต้านทานการสึกกร่อนจาก เครื่องดื่มที่มีฤทธิ์เป็นกรดได้ (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2555;35:179-88)

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาค่ากําลังแรงดึงไดอะเมทรัลและความทนแรงอัดของวัสดุอุดฟันชั่วคราวชนิดซิงค์ออกไซด์- แคลเซียมซัลเฟตที่พัฒนาขึ้นใหม่ วัสดุและวิธีการ สังเคราะห์โคพอลิเมอร์ระหว่างพอลิเมทิลเมทาคริเลตและพอลิสไตรีนด้วยกระบวนการ พอลิเมอไรเซชันแบบดิฟเฟอเรนเชียลไมโครอิมัลชันเพื่อใช้เป็นวัสดุเสริมแรงให้กับวัสดุอุดฟันชั่วคราว โดยปรับ เปลี่ยนอัตราส่วนระหว่างพอลิเมทิลเมทาคริเลตและพอลิสไตรีนเป็น 1:1 112 113 และ 14 จากนั้นนํามาผสมกับ ซิงค์ออกไซด์ แคลเซียมซัลเฟตและวัสดุอื่น ๆ ซึ่งจะได้วัสดุอุดชั่วคราวที่พัฒนาขึ้นใหม่ทั้งหมด 4 สูตร และแบ่งเป็น 4 กลุ่มเพื่อใช้ในการศึกษา โดยใช้เควิต เป็นกลุ่มควบคุมเตรียมชิ้นตัวอย่างกลุ่มละ 15 ชิ้น เพื่อหาค่ากําลังแรงดึง ไดอะเมทรัลที่ดัดแปลงจากดาร์เวลล์ และเตรียมชิ้นตัวอย่างกลุ่มละ 30 ชิ้น เพื่อหาค่าความทนแรงอัดตามวิธีที่ ดัดแปลงจากมาตรฐานสากล ไอเอสโอ 3107/2004 วิเคราะห์ผลโดยใช้สถิติการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว ที่ระดับนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ 0.05 ผลการศึกษา วัสดุอุดฟันชั่วคราวชนิดซิงค์ออกไซด์ แคลเซียมซัลเฟตที่เสริมแรงด้วยโคพอลิเมอร์ของพอลิเมทิล เมทาคริเลตและพอลิสไตรีนในอัตราส่วนต่าง ๆ ให้ค่าเฉลี่ยกําลังแรงดึงและความทนแรงอัดที่แตกต่างกันทุกสูตร เมื่อปริมาณของพอลิสไตรีนเพิ่มขึ้น ค่าเฉลี่ยกําลังแรงดึงและความทนแรงอัดมีค่าลดลง โดยสูตรที่ใช้อัตราส่วนของ พอลิเมทิลเมทาคริเลตต่อพอลิสไตรีนเท่ากับ 1:1 ให้ค่าเฉลี่ยของกําลังแรงดึงไดอะเมทรัลและค่าเฉลี่ยความทน แรงอัดมากที่สุด และยังมีค่ามากกว่าเควิตอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) สรุป วัสดุอุดฟันชั่วคราวที่พัฒนาขึ้นใหม่ที่เสริมแรงด้วยโคพอลิเมอร์ของพอลิเมทิลเมทาคริเลตและพอลิสไตรีน ในอัตราส่วน 1:1 มีกําลังแรงดึงไดอะเมทรัลและความทนแรงอัดมากกว่าเควิตอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2555;35:157-66)

Dental implant placement in the esthetic zone requires knowledge of various concepts and techniques, and a thorough oral examination of both hard and soft tissues. A meticulous treatment plan can then be developed, which ultimately will lead to an esthetically pleasing result. This article is a case report of a patient who lost left permanent maxillary lateral incisor, canine and left permanent maxillary first premolar and alveolar bone due to the enucleation of eosinophilic granuloma. Also, the report described how a multidisciplinary approach may improve the esthetic outcome when only orthodontic treatment was insufficient. The early loss of permanent anterior teeth affected the harmony of the incisors shown and ultimately the esthetics of the smile, and was a challenge in treatment planning. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the compatibility of dental gypsum with three recently introduced irreversible hydrocolloid (alginate) alternatives. The test materials were Alginot® (Kerr™), Position Penta Quick® (3M ESPE™) and Silgimix® (Sultan Dental™). The irreversible hydrocolloid impression material, Jeltrate Plus antimicrobial® (Dentsply Caulk™) served as the control. Materials and Methods: Testing of materials was conducted in accordance with ANSI/ADA Specification No. 18 for Alginate Impression Materials. Statistical Analysis: The 3-Way ANOVA test was used to analyze measurements between different time points at a significance level of (p < 0.05) Outcome: It was found that there was greater compatibility between gypsum and the alternative materials over time than the traditional irreversible hydrocolloid material that was tested. A statistically significant amount of surface change/incompatibility was found over time with the combination of the dental gypsum products and the control impression material (Jeltrate Plus antimicrobial®).

Titanium nitride and/or nitrogen ion implanted coated dental materials have been investigated since the mid-1980s and considered in various applications in dentistry such as implants, abutments, orthodontic wires, endodontic files, periodontal/oral hygiene instruments, and casting alloys for fixed restorations. Multiple methodologies have been employed to create the coatings, but detailed structural analysis of the coatings is generally lacking in the dental literature. PURPOSE: To investigate the use of extra-orally applied near infra-red (NIR) phototherapy for the reduction of oral pain secondary to chemo- and radiation-therapy induced mucositis in adult and pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients.

METHODS: 80 HSCT were divided into regular (R) and low (L) risk groups, then to experimental (E) and placebo (P) groups, resulting in 4 groups (ER, EL, PR, PL). Experimental subjects received (670 (+/- 10) nm gallium-aluminum-arsinide light emitting diode (LED) device for 80 sec at an ~50mW/cm2 energy density and power exposure of 4J/cm2. Participants were recruited from low-income senior housing in Hartford, CT. In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted to obtain data on demographics, oral health status, oral health knowledge and factors that affected use of dental care including finances, perceived oral symptoms, cultural factors, and beliefs about dental care. The objective was to evaluate implant bone remodelling using radiographic bone level changes (RBL) as the variable, from baseline to six months, between the test and the control groups.
