BACKGROUND: In recent years, it has become increasingly common to incorporate the patient perspective into drug development and regulatory decision making.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to measure and quantify patient preferences (priorities and trade-offs) for attributes that characterize current and emerging refractory chronic spontaneous urticaria (rCSU) treatments.

METHODS: Adult patients with self-reported rCSU symptoms completed an online discrete choice experiment survey. Latanoprostene bunod ophthalmic solution (LBN) 0.024% is a topical nitric oxide (NO)-donating prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) analog first approved in November 2017 for reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with ocular hypertension (OHT) or open-angle glaucoma (OAG). This narrative review describes the unique mechanism of action of LBN and summarizes available real-world data. Upon instillation, LBN is metabolized into latanoprost acid and butanediol mononitrate, which is further reduced to NO and an inactive metabolite. Latanoprost acid increases aqueous humor outflow primarily through the uveoscleral (unconventional) pathway, whereas NO increases outflow through the trabecular (conventional) pathway. In 2023, the Azithromycin Prevention in Labor Use (A-PLUS) trial showed intrapartum azithromycin reduces maternal sepsis or death in women with planned vaginal delivery in low-resource settings, but whether it reduces maternal infection is unknown. Anti-PD-1 based therapies and brentuximab vedotin (BV) have significantly improved survival in patients with classic Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) and have been incorporated into earlier lines of therapy. However, there is insufficient data regarding the clinical outcomes in patients who develop refractory disease or who become intolerant of BV and anti-PD-1 therapies (double refractory/intolerant; DR/INT). Background/Purpose: The use of mobile head CT scanning in the ICU setting has both clinical and economic advantages, particularly if able to provide image quality close or equal to fixed CT scanners.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the image quality of a new portable CT scanner, compared to a fixed CT platform.

This method allows for their separation either in different ratios within a ternary mixture or in their fixed-dose combination (FDC) using HPLC. Patients with recurrent platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC) have poor clinical outcomes, owing mainly to the presence of therapy-resistant cancer stem cells (CSCs). The NCT03949283 randomized clinical trial enrolled patients with recurrent PROC to receive ChemoID-guided chemotherapy or the best physician-choice regimen selected from the same list of thirteen mono or combination chemotherapies. The primary outcome was objective response rate (ORR) assessed on CT scans using the RECIST 1.1 criteria at 6 months follow-up. Background: Previous studies suggested that SCN10A/Nav1.8 may influence cardiac electrophysiology and the susceptibility to cardiac arrhythmias. Notably, the expression of SCN10A is not uniform, showing variable expression in each cardiac chamber. The present study aims to explore the functional significance of Nav1.8 expression among different cell types present in the ventricular myocardium.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) shows limited response to conventional therapies and immunotherapy due to dense stromal barriers and poor immunogenicity. Oncolytic vesiculoviruses hold therapeutic potential for PDAC by lysis of PDAC cells to release tumor-associated antigens, increasing tumor immunogenicity. We previously reported the efficacy of a chimeric vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) expressing Morreton virus (MorV) glycoprotein in sarcoma. Hypertension is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular and kidney diseases but is often under-diagnosed and poorly managed. Electronic Health Records (EHR) can help by providing automated reminders to recheck elevated blood pressure (BP) readings, ensuring accurate measurements, and guiding clinical interventions. This study aims to determine if EHR-based reminders improve BP control in adult patients aged 21 and older, focusing on hypertension diagnosis accuracy and timely management.

OBJECTIVE: This study compared postoperative opioid use for patients undergoing short segment primary versus revision lumbar fusion.

METHODS: Patients who underwent primary or revision 1-2 level lumbar fusion (2017-2021) were included in this study. The state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program was reviewed for all patients to quantify preoperative and postoperative opioid, benzodiazepine, muscle relaxant, and gabapentin use. A 1:1 propensity match was performed to match primary lumbar fusion patients with revision lumbar fusion patients. Revision lumbar fusion patients were substratified into those with or without persistent postoperative opioid use to identify demographic differences between these patient cohorts.

BACKGROUND: The biological mechanisms by which postdiagnosis physical activity improves disease-free survival in colorectal cancer survivors remain incompletely understood. This trial tested the hypothesis that 12 wk of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, when compared with a control group, would change inflammation, CTCs, and ctDNA in a manner consistent with an improved cancer prognosis. INTRODUCTION: Klinefelter syndrome (KS) is a genetic condition characterised by the presence of an extra X chromosome in males (47,XXY). KS is associated with various phenotypic characteristics in adult life, including infertility, hypogonadism and increased risk of type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. Additionally, individuals with KS often experience mental health challenges and functional impairments that significantly impact their quality of life. Currently, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in adolescence is considered the first-line treatment by some physicians for patients with KS and biochemical signs of hypogonadism.
