Introduction: Meniscus tears are associated with progressive cartilage degeneration and worsening osteoarthritis. Although several previous studies have explored the relationship between meniscus tears and cartilage damage, few have examined the relationship between tear location and cartilage wear in all knee compartments using an arthroscopic grading system. Objectives: Evaluate the association between meniscus tear location and the prevalence and severity of high-grade cartilage wear in knee compartments. Carotenoids are naturally abundant fat-soluble pigmented compounds, with dietary, antioxidant and vision protection advantages. The dietary carotenoids, Beta Carotene, Lutein and Zeaxanthin, complexed with in bovine serum albumin (BSA) in aqueous solution, were explored using Raman spectroscopy to differentiate and quantify their spectral signatures. UV visible absorption spectroscopy was employed to confirm the linearity of responses over the concentration range employed (0.05-1mg/ml) and, of the 4 source wavelengths, 785nm, 660nm, 532nm, 473nm, 532nm was chosen to provide the optimal response. This personal film documents the journey of a Haitian-American woman dealing with sexual trauma in a culture that doesn’t speak candidly on the topic. How can women of the African- American diaspora break the cycle of sexual trauma and what are coping mechanisms to navigate their life choices with awareness?

The Never-Ending Lap will follow Ennica’s own healing process, delving delve into the cycles of sexual trauma. The film will explore past experiences through journal entries, therapy sessions and her love for track and field as she is on the road to search for coping mechanisms and healing.

The purpose of this clinical study is to determine the effectiveness of the updated treatment for acute osteomyelitis. This treatment plan consists of early transition from intravenous to oral antimicrobial therapy. The efficaciousness of these therapies were compared with post-discharge outcomes and complication rates. This study will utilize patient records during 2011 to 2016 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center. The study includes patients aged from 1 month to 18 years for acute or unspecified osteomyelitis. Postoperative adhesions are pathological attachments that develop between abdominopelvic structures following surgery. Considered unavoidable and ubiquitous, postoperative adhesions lead to bowel obstructions, infertility, pain, and reoperations, and represent a substantial health care challenge. Despite over a century of research, no preventive treatment exists. Based on the hypothesis that postoperative adhesions develop from a lack of movement of the abdominopelvic organs, we proposed a relatively simple treatment approach using a modified manual therapy technique that mobilizes abdominopelvic structures in the immediate postoperative period while they are otherwise rendered …
