COVID-19 patients showed changes in biochemical and hematological parameters which may cause other complications. D-dimer is one of the prognostic biomarkers used to predict COVID-19 infection, the elevated level of it considered one of the risk factors for mortality especially in adult COVID-19 patients and indicated the positive correlation between D-dimer and disease severity. Another biochemical biomarker is ferritin and CRP, which consider a key mediators of the immune dysregulation via direct immune suppressive and contributing to cytokine storm. This quantitative study will seek to provide valuable insight into the needs and preferences of Hispanic women during labor with the potential benefit of doula support in minimizing their pain.

This study seeks to assess whether culturally sensitive care addressing intersectional factors enhances health access and outcomes in low-income Latinx communities (Purpose). The research proposes a longitudinal quasi-experimental study involving 400 Latinx participants aged 18 and above in low-income urban Los Angeles neighborhoods.
