Flexor hallucis longus (FHL) transfer is a widely used technique for reconstruction of Achilles tendinopathies, but the complications such as neurovascular injury and functional loss of toes have been reported. This study aimed to evaluate the morphology of FHL musculotendinous junction (MTJ), location of MKH in reference to the landmarks in foot, type and morphometry of tendinous interconnection between FHL and flexor digitorum longus (FDL) tendons and FHL tendon length in single incision, double incision and minimally invasive techniques. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of exercise training against age-induced the reduction of cardiac angiogenic capacity associated with p-Akt1, eNOS, Mdm2, p53, VEGF, and CD31 in rat hearts. A Causal Model Of Sexual Abstinence In Thai Female Adolescents, La-Ongdao Wannarit

This study aimed to develop and test a causal model of sexual abstinence in Thai female adolescents guiding by the Health Promotion Model of Pender, Murdaugh and, Parsons (2015). Data were collected from 654 first-year female students studying in six higher education institutions and six high-vocational schools in Thailand. Validity and reliability of 6 existing measures and 2 newly developed measures were established prior to data collection. The causal model was analyzed using Mplus program. It was found that the causal model of sexual abstinence fit the empirical data with Chi-square (χ2) = 434.344, p<0.05, degrees of freedom (df) = 173, χ2/df = 2.51, Comparative fit Index (CFI) = 0.967, Tucker-Lewis Fit Index (TLI) = 0.955, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) = 0.048, Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) = 0.041. Sixty-eight percent of the variance in Thai female adolescents’ sexual abstinence was explained by child-rearing promoting sexual abstinence, commitment to a plan of sexual abstinence, perceived benefits, perceived self-efficacy, and perceived barriers. Among these five variables, the child-rearing promoting sexual abstinence had the largest total effect on sexual abstinence, followed by commitment to a plan of sexual abstinence, perceived benefits, perceived self-efficacy, and perceived barriers, respectively. This model can be used by healthcare providers to promote sexual abstinence in Thai female adolescents.

This quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design aims to examine the effectiveness of the Parent Involvement-Child Behavioral Management Program (PICBMP) in reducing symptoms among ADHD children. Sixty-four children aged 6–12 years with ADHD were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group by using a random number table, consisting of thirty-two participants in each group. The participants in the experimental group participated in the PICBMP and usual care with medication, while those in the control group received the usual care with medication. The aim of this study was to compare diagnostic accuracy in proximal caries detection between bitewing radiographs exported from PACS software and taken with a smartphone viewed in a smartphone display. A total of 200 proximal surfaces from digital bitewing radiographs were included in this study. Images of all radiographs were captured from a medical-grade and a common display by an iPhone 8 Plus and stored as JPEG files. Fifty endophytic actinomycetes isolated from six medicinal plants in Thailand were identified as Micromonospora (34 strains), Streptomyces (8 strains), Microbispora (3 strains), Nonomuraea (2 strains), Plantactinospora (2 strains), and Amycolatopsis (1 strain) based on phenotypic characteristics and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Fifteen strains exhibited antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Strain CR1-09T, proposed as Microbispora cathalanthi sp. nov. was active against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and Kocuria rhizophila ATCC 9341. Streptomyces sp. 3MP-10 and 3MP-14, novel species were active against S. aureus ATCC 6538, K. rhizophila ATCC 9341, and Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633. Oxyresveratrol (OXY) is known to exert antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties but has low oral bioavailability in rats and low permeability in the Caco-2 cell monolayer model. Three ester prodrugs with different acyl chain lengths (oxyresveratrol tetraacetate (OXY-TAc), oxyresveratrol tetrapropionate (OXY-TPr), and oxyresveratrol tetrabutyrate (OXY-TBu) were synthesized to improve the permeability of OXY. Transport of three OXY ester prodrugs across Caco-2 monolayers was higher than that of OXY, and OXY-TAc exhibited the highest permeation. Free radicals lead to oxidative stress which plays an important role in the development of many diseases. Dendrobium lindleyi belongs to Dendrobium, a genus the secondary metabolites of which were reported as free radical scavenging compounds. However, the bioactivity of D. lindleyi has never been revealed. Doxorubicin (DOX) is a chemotherapeutic agent that suffers from its severe adverse effects due to non-selective cytotoxicity. This study aims to design novel beta-thiopropanamide linkers (-S-CH2-C(R)H-CONH-) for DOX conjugation to promote cancer cell selectivity and cytotoxicity. Two series of DOX conjugates with various beta-thiopropanamide linkers were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic selectivity. The phase-solubility profiles of AmB in various aqueous cyclodextrin (CD) solutions were determined. The AmB solubilization in oils and surfactants was also examined. Two CDs i.e., gCD and 2-hydroxypropyl-g-CD (HPgCD), medium-chain triglycerides (MCT oil) and phosphatidylcholine (lecithin) were chosen because of their high solubility increment of AmB. This study aimed to express recombinant protein human Dentin Matrix Protein 1 (hDMP1) in Escherichia coli and Nicotiana benthamiana and investigated the osteogenic differentiation effects in human Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells (hPDLSCs). The gene encoding hDMP1 was ligated into the pET22b and pBY2R2e expression vectors. Recombinant hDMP1 protein has been productively expressed in E. coli and N. benthamiana. Mansonones are naphthoquinone-containing compounds extracted from the heartwood of Mansonia gagei. Several studies have reported that mansonones have various pharmacological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiestrogenic, antiadipogenic and anticancer effects. Macrophages play major roles to produce several inflammatory mediators in many chronic inflammatory diseases. Current anti-inflammatory drugs target these mediators to alleviate inflammation symptoms. Searching for new anti-inflammatory agents is always needed due to problems from currently used anti-inflammatory drugs. This study aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory potential of three main compounds, arborinine, N-methylatalaphylline and S-deoxydihydroglyparvin (DDGP), isolated from Glycosmis parva leaves and branches on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated macrophage RAW 264.7 cells. Phytochemical investigations of Cissus javana DC., Dendrobium christyanum Rchb. f., Gastrochilus bellinus Rchb. f. Kuntze and Huberantha jenkinsii (Hook. f. & Thomson) Chaowasku led to the isolation of twenty-seven compounds, six of which were new naturally occurring compounds. From Cissus javana, three known compounds were isolated, including bergenin, stigmast-4-en-3-one, and β-sitosterol. From Dendrobium christyanum, thirteen known compounds were identified, namely, n-eicosyl trans-ferulate, n-docosyl 4-hydroxy-trans-cinnamate, 4,5-dihydroxy-2-methoxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene, moscatilin, aloifol I, gigantol, batatasin III, dendrosinen B, coniferyl aldehyde, methyl haematommate, atraric acid, vanillin and diorcinolic acid. Rhinacanthin-C (RN-C) is a major bioactive naphthoquinone ester found in Rhinacanthus nasutus Kurz (Acanthaceae). This compound has potential therapeutic value as an anticancer agent. Rhinacanthin-C was reported to enhance doxorubicin cytotoxicity in breast cancer cells through direct inhibition of P-gp activity. Trend of regenerative therapy for diabetes in human and veterinary practice has conceptually been proven according to Edmonton protocol and animal models. Establishing an alternative insulin-producing cell (IPC) resource is a challenge task for further clinical application. In this study, IPC generation from two practical canine mesenchymal stem cells (cMSCs), canine bone marrow-derived MSCs (cBM-MSCs) and canine adipose-derived MSCs (cAD-MSCs), was of interest. The aims of this study were to determine the N-acetyl transferase 2 (NAT2) genetic distribution of Myanmar tuberculosis (TB) patients and evaluate the association of NAT2 polymorphisms and antituberculosis drug-induced liver injury (AT-DILI) in Myanmar patients. A case-control study was conducted in adult Myanmar TB patients at Samut Sakorn Hospital. Fifty-four patients who completed anti-TB treatment without liver injury (controls) and five patients with AT-DILI during their anti-TB treatment (cases) were enrolled.
