Exploring The Non-Communicable Disease Burden In Indonesia – Findings From The 2023 Health Survey, Akifa Laila Rusyda
Indonesian Journal of Public Health Nutrition (IJPHN)
The present study rigorously examines the correlation between obesity, high-risk dietary consumption, and unhealthy lifestyles with the prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Indonesia. The study employed a cross-sectional study design using secondary data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey, analyzing 38 units (n) representing Indonesia's provinces in 2023. The correlation analysis, conducted using Pearson's test with a significance level of 95% (α<0.05), revealed significant regional disparities in the prevalence of NCDs, dietary consumption, and lifestyle factors across Indonesia. Moreover, the findings reveal a statistically significant positive correlation between obesity, high-risk food consumption, and lifestyle risk factors with the prevalence of several NCDs, including diabetes mellitus, heart disease, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. These results underscore the potential impact of our research on public health in Indonesia. The results highlight also the urgent need for targeted public health initiatives, such as policies promoting healthier food choices, controlling the food environment, encouraging physical activity, and supporting smoking cessation to mitigate the growing burden of NCDs in Indonesia.

Background Cesarean sections are frequently performed every day, and the rate of cesarean deliveries in Egypt is rapidly escalating. Surgical site infection is a complication of cesarean sections associated with numerous risk factors, elevating maternal morbidity and potentially resulting in maternal mortality. Several strategies are followed to minimize SSI risk after CS, which can improve both the mother's and the newborn's health. Patient and methods This prospective case-control study was carried out throughout 12-month from November 2023 to November 2024, at the obstetrics and gynecology department of the EL-Sahel Teaching Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. In the study 947 CS were …
Correction Of Post Keratoplasty Refractive Error By Two Step Femto-Lasik Approach, Hazem Abdallah Elnashar
Correction Of Post Keratoplasty Refractive Error By Two Step Femto-Lasik Approach, Hazem Abdallah Elnashar
Journal of Medicine in Scientific Research
Background: Vision rehabilitation following a successful keratoplasty remains difficult. Occasionally, Post Keratoplasty Refractive Error cannot be corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses. In such situations, refractive surgery may be the answer. It has been demonstrated that Femto-LASIK is a safe and effective procedure for reducing postoperative refractive error in keratoplasty patients. Aim: To assess the visual and refractive effect of using two step Femto-LASIK approach for correction of post keratoplasty refractive error. Methods: Prospective interventional study involved 12 patients with high refractive error after keratoplasty that a Two-step Femto-LASIK procedure was performed on after corrective lenses (contacts or glasses) failed …

Journal of Medicine in Scientific Research
Background: Cerebral palsy children with hemiparesis manifest impaired balance during static and dynamic activities which impact gait, functional activities, and quality of life. Purpose: To determine the effect of mirror-based lateral walking training on balance in cerebral palsy children with hemiparesis. Methods: The study included 60 children of both sexes with hemiparesis between the ages of five and seven who met the following inclusion criteria: they able to walk independently at level II on the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), with spasticity at grade 1+ to 2 on the modified Ashworth scale. Results: Following training, both groups showed statistically …

Current developments in counseling show significant improvements, especially with the increasingly deeper integration of artificial intelligence (AI). This research focuses on analyzing research development trends in counseling and artificial intelligence, with data collected from Scopus-indexed publications from the beginning of 1982 to 2024. From this period, 470 relevant articles were identified for further analysis. The analysis process is carried out using bibliometric methods with PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework, with the help of R-Biblioshiny software, which allows in-depth analysis of patterns and trends in the literature. The analysis results show that this topic has experienced …
