Artemisinin is currently used as an antimalaria drug. Studies have shown its monomeric form exhibited promising anticancer effects by inhibiting the proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and increasing oxidative stress of tumor cells. Recently, several dimeric forms of artemisinin have been synthesized with more potent anticancer activity. In this study, nine dihydroartemisinin dimers with diversely functionalized linkers exhibited similar cytotoxicity against human breast adenocarcinoma MDA-MB-231 in vitro. Among these nine DHA dimers, DHA dimer oxime was selected for further anticancer activity and pharmacokinetic study. The aim of the current investigation is to develop a sustained-release dry powder inhalation (DPI) formulation through continuous Hot Melt Extrusion (HME) process and see the impact of Sodium Bicarbonate (SB) and Mannitol (MAN) on the hydrophobic Eudragit RL PO (ERLPO) polymer. Ball milling and air-jet milling were utilized to have powder with a particle size range that is required for inhalation. The total synthesis of polyhydroxylated flavones have proven to be challenging, due to the presence of more than one hydroxyl group. Direct cyclization was not successful in any of the attempts. Postoperative air leaks are the most common complication after a pulmonary resection. There is no data in the literature comparing the traditional and digital chest drainage system after a robotic-assisted pulmonary lobectomy. In 182 eligible patients, this retrospective study evaluated the association between digital and traditional drainage systems with postoperative chest tube days, hospital length of stay, chest tube reinsertion during hospitalization, and 30-day readmission for pneumothorax following a robotic-assisted lobectomy. This dissertation delineates several formulation strategies to circumvent dynamic and static constraints hampering the ocular drug delivery. Advanced vesicular systems, bilosomes and transfersomes, were prepared to improve the ocular pharmacotherapy of natamycin (NT). This study examined the macrolinguistic features of three genres (single picture description, sequential picture description, and story retell) of discourse samples collected from participants with acquired communication disorders (including two speakers with aphasia, two with mild cognitive impairment, and two with traumatic brain injury) and unimpaired controls (n=6). Comparisons were made to investigate group and genre differences. Standardized assessment scores of cognitive and linguistic evaluations were collected and correlated to features of macrolinguistic discourse analysis. These polycations interact with DNA, RNA, and influence many cellular processes. Intracellular polyamine levels are maintained via a balance of polyamine biosynthesis, catabolism, and transport. Ornithine, an amino acid obtained from L-arginine, is decarboxylated by ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) to form putrescine.
