Background: This study aimed to assess the effect of cisplatin-induced toxicities on biochemical and pathological parameters such as body, liver, and kidney weights, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and blood cells (RBCs and WBCs) in white Swiss albino mice.

Methods: Cisplatin’s potential toxic effects on body, liver, and kidney weights were evaluated using standard laboratory methods. Blood biochemical levels such as BUN, creatinine, and ALT levels were determined by an auto-hemolyzer using commercial diagnostic kits. Blood cells (RBCs and WBCs) were counted under a microscope by a hemocytometer.

Preclinical data have consistently suggested the pharmaceutical potential of kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), including as a substitute therapy in opioid dependence. In this case report, we present a case of a man with a long history of kratom use to help him cope with his opiate withdrawals while abstaining from illicit drug use. This is the first published detailed case report highlighting the potential use of kratom to aid opioid dependence encountered in the clinical setting. Our article is also supported by literature review with regards to kratom’s safety profile and pharmacological potential.

This case involved the management of a possible cemental tear, which resulted in poor response to nonsurgical periodontal therapy. This case was managed by exploratory surgery, along with the intention to surgically reduce the periodontal pocket. Exploratory surgery revealed a localized cemental defect. The periodontium healed with pocket closure after exploratory surgery and open-flap debridement. The difficulty in clinically diagnosing a localized periodontal destruction and the lack of consensus on managing these cases were highlighted. The possibility of an undiagnosed cemental defect in a tooth with localized periodontitis should be considered in cases not responding to periodontal therapy.

Broth microdilution assay was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of hydroethanolic extracts of the stem barks against selected bacteria and fungi. This article is an initial study that seeks to explore the results of previous studies in the field of Financial Technology in the Conditional Cash Transfer Program using the Systematic Mapping Study (SMS). The purpose of this study is to determine the topic of Financial Technology in the Conditional Cash Transfer Program that has been studied.
