Background/aim: The aim herein was to investigate epileptiform discharges on electroencephalogram (EEG), their correlation with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 autoantibody (GAD-ab) in newly diagnosed pediatric type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) patients and interpret their medium-term utility in predicting epilepsy. Background/aim: To compare the effectiveness of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) used in myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) and to determine whether they are superior to conservative treatment (CT). Background/aim: The aim of this study was to develop a gestational diabetes risk assessment scale (GEDRISK). Materials and methods: This methodological study included 652 pregnant women who presented to six public health institutions in İstanbul between September 2021 and February 2022. Content validity was evaluated using the content validity index, while construct validity was assessed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Item discrimination was examined using Cronbach's alpha coefficients, Spearman-Brown and Guttman coefficients, item-total correlation tests, and 27% lower and upper quartile t tests. Background/aim: To investigate the effects of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and the use of ultrasound elastography on testicular torsion. Materials and methods: Herein, 6 equal groups of rats were formed (n: 48): control group, sham group, torsion/detorsion (T/D)-1 h group, T/D-1 h + ASA group, T/D-8 h group, and T/D-8 h + ASA group. The Lumbar Spine Instability Questionnaire (LSIQ) is a simple and low-cost tool for evaluating disturbed back stability in people with low back pain. Background/aim: To determine the knowledge about and acceptance level of monkeypox vaccine in men who have sex with men (MSM). Materials and methods: A 14-item questionnaire, developed by the European Centers for Disease Control (ECDC), was presented online to MSM, aged ?18 years old, via smartphone applications (Grindr and Hornet), between June 30th and August 12th, 2022. Results: Of the 737 participants who completed the survey, 678 were born in Türkiye and 59 were migrants/visitors born in different countries. All of the participants were living in Türkiye. Background/aim: To present the incidence of recurrent lumbar disc herniation (RLDH) and to identify radiological and patient-related risk factors that lead to recurrence after lumbar disc herniation (LDH) treatment with microdiscectomy. Materials and methods: Between January 2013 and December 2021, 1214 patients who had undergone microdiscectomy for LDH were included in this retrospective study. In this context, it was aimed to examine the efficiency of the serum amylase (SA) value on postoperative day (PoD) 1 in predicting the occurrence of POPF.
