Background/aim: Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) characterized by defective immunoglobulin production is the most prevalent form of symptomatic primary immunodeficiency (PID) in adults. We aimed to reveal the clinical features of adults with CVID and to evaluate the effects of immunoglobulin replacement treatment (IRT) on hemato-immunological findings. Materials and methods: This study included 26 adult patients receiving IRT. Background/aim: A correlation between vitamin D deficiency and primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) has already been described. The limited data has been reported regarding the pathological relevance of vitamin D in primary Sjögren's syndrome. Background/aim: The study aims to evaluate the usage of gold weight implants and monitor complaints and comfort of patients. Materials and methods: A hundred and ninety-one implantations performed between January 2009 and January 2019 were analyzed. Seventy-eight patients included in this study The average age of the patients was 51.3 ± 14.5 years. Forty-five (57.7%) of them were male and 33 (42.3%) female. Patient satisfaction was measured with a questionnaire containing the most common complaints related to gold weight in the literature through telephone surveys. Background/aim: Vascular calcifications (VCs), recognized risk factor for increased mortality, are highly prevalent in hemodialysis (HD) patients. We aimed to investigate the relation between VC and warfarin use with plain radiography. Materials and methods: VCs were assessed using Adragao (radial and digital) and Kauppila (aortic) scores in 76 HD patients from six centers. Materials and methods: Data of confirmed COVID-19 outpatients over a 4-month period were analyzed retrospectively. Public Health Management System (HSYS) was used for the case-based follow-up. Background/aim: Mesenteric panniculitis (MP) is an idiopathic benign disease characterized by fat necrosis, chronic inflammation, and fibrosis. The relationship between obesity and chronic low-grade inflammation has been reported. This study investigated the relationship of MP diagnosed using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) with visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) areas.Materials and methods: We retrospectively enrolled 104 patients with no radiological findings other than MP. Background/aim: Our purpose was to determine the efficacy of levodopa carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG) in a series of Turkish patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Materials and methods: We had telephone calls with 54 patients from 11 neurology centers who were on LCIG treatment, and 44 patients or their caregivers were included in an eight-item survey between September 2015 and June 2016. The reliability and validity of the survey were evaluated with intraclass correlation coefficients for every question separately.Results: Average age of the patients were 63.48 and the duration of PD was 12.79 years. Although it has also started to be used to diagnose nonmelanocytic lesions recently, it has not been tested much on oral mucosal masses, such as oral mucoceles. Background/aim: To define the cytomorphologic findings leading to difficulties in diagnosis of Warthin tumors (WTs).Materials and methods: Forty-eight histopathologically diagnosed WT patients who had fine needle aspiration cytology preoperatively were reevaluated for defining the presence or absence of lymphocytes, oncocytic cell layer, oncocytic cell papillae, granular debris background, mucoid background, macrophages, polymorphonuclear cells, mast cells, squamous-like cells, atypical vacuolated cytoplasmic cells, and giant cells.Results: Forty-seven tumors were in the parotid gland and one in the submandibular gland. Background/aim: The objective in this study is to assess the short-term effects of a single-session mobilization in addition to subacromial corticosteroid (SACS) injection in impingement syndrome.Materials and methods: The study was designed as a prospective randomized controlled single-blind, parallel group clinical trial.
