Background/aim: Hantavirus is a rodent borne zoonosis caused by the members of the virus family Bunyaviridae, genus Hantavirus. In this study, we aimed to determine the role of peripheral blood leukocyte ratio in differential diagnosis of Hantavirus disease. Materials and methods: The medical records of patients at the Düzce University Medical Faculty were examined retrospectively. Background and aim: Creating potential clinical markers for risk assessment in patients with COVID-19 continues to be an area of interest. In this study, we aimed to evaluate whether serum albumin level and thrombocyte/lymphocyte ratio are related to the severity of the disease. Materials and methods: The patients were divided into two groups according to the severity of disease. Demographic data, serum albumin value, lymphocyte count, TLO-1 values (thrombocyte/lymphocyte ratio-1), the highest thrombocyte count during hospitalization, TLO-2 (thrombocyte/lymphocyte ratio-2) values formed by the highest thrombocyte count, were recorded. Background/aim: To investigate the relationship between imaging findings and peripheral blood cell counts of COVID-19 patients and the degree of thymus fat involution of these patients. Materials and methods: Computed tomography (CT) images of 87 patients with COVID-19 positive through RT-PCR testing were evaluated retrospectively by two radiologists. Ground glass densities and other signs of viral pneumonia were recorded, lung involvement was scored quantitatively. The patients thymus fat involution was graded on CT. Background/aim: Analysis of the characteristics of influenza virus in imported cases in Guangxi province of China. Materials and methods: Throat swabs of imported cases with influenza-like symptoms were detected by real-time PCR from July 2016 to December 2019. Results: 1292 laboratory detections of influenza were reported in 3974 influenza-like cases, of which 71.67% (926) were influenza A. The ratio of test positive was 32.82%. The proportion of detections of influenza B was 28.33% (366). A total of 70.51% of the cases mostly came from Vietnam (911). Background/aim: The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of ruxolitinib in patients with myelofibrosis. Materials and methods: From 15 centers, 176 patients (53.4% male, 46.6% female) were retrospectively evaluated. Results: The median age at ruxolitinib initiation was 62 (28-87) and 100 (56.8%) of all were diagnosed as PMF. Constitutional symptoms were observed in 84.7%. The median initiation dose of ruxolitinib was 30 mg (10-40). Dose change was made in 69 (39.2%) patients. Background/aim: The aim of this study is to present our experience on various endovascular treatment modalities of basilar fenestration aneurysms and reviewing our findings together with literature data. Materials and methods: A total of 26 basilar artery fenestration (BAF) aneurysms in 24 patients were endovascularly treated in two different neurointerventional radiology clinics. All patients had been evaluated with computed tomography (CT), CT angiography, and digital subtraction angiography before the procedure. This work aimed to evaluate the role of miRs (miR-4649-3p, miR-6867-5p, miR-4296, miR-210, and miR-1910-3p) that target the FOXP3 mRNA and IL-17A mRNA in psoriasis. Background/aim: To characterize the clinical course of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) and high flow humidified nasal cannula ventilation (HFNC) procedures; perform risk analysis for ventilation failure. Material and methods: This prospective, multi-centered, observational study was conducted in 352 PICU admissions (1 month-18 years) between 2016 and 2017. SPSS-22 was used to assess clinical data, define thresholds for ventilation parameters and perform risk analysis. Results: Patient age, onset of disease, previous intubation and hypoxia influenced the choice of therapy mode: NIPPV was preferred in older children (p = 0.002) with longer intubation (p < 0.001), ARDS (p = 0.001), lower respiratory tract infections (p < 0.001), chronic respiratory disease, (p = 0.005), malignancy (p = 0.048) and immune deficiency (p = 0.026). The failure rate was 13.4%. sepsis, ARDS, prolonged intubation, and use of nasal masks were associated with NIV failure (p = 0.001, p < 0.001, p < 0.001, p = 0.025).
