Background/aim: Biliary fistula is one of the most important complications in liver transplantation. Complications can vary from simple local peritonitis to death, and various techniques have been described to prevent them. In this study, we compared two different stenting methods used in biliary tract anastomosis in living-donor liver transplantation. Material and methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 41 living-donor liver transplantations that were performed due to endstage liver failure between August 2019 and November 2020. Background/aim: This study was designed to observe and compare the performance of fiberoptic laryngeal (FOL) view, leakage test (LT) and ultrasonography (USG) usage in detecting i-gel position in pediatric patients. Materials and methods: One hundred ten consecutive children were included in this single-armed prospective observational study. After anesthetic induction, i-gel placement confirmed using FOL and LT was evaluated using USG in three planes. We aimed to determine the efficacy, prognostic factors of perioperative FLOT chemotherapy in real-life gastric and GEJ tumors. In this study, two successive generations of queens belonging to a native Bombus terrestris population in the Central Black Sea Region of Türkiye were reared under controlled laboratory conditions to examine its developmental characteristics and suitability for mass production. The first generation was formed by a hundred Bombus terrestris queens which were caught from native fauna in Ordu Province, Türkiye. Craniosynostosis can be classified as syndromic or nonsyndromic according to the type of suture involved. Background/aim: To explore the correlations between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and glucose levels in older adults with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Materials and methods: A total of 783 participants aged ≥60 years were enrolled. The 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was conducted and HbA1c was measured. The participants were divided into normal glucose tolerance (NGT)HbA1c, Pre-DMHbA1c, and T2DMHbA1c groups based on the HbA1c diagnostic criteria. Background/aim: To evaluate the safety and outcomes of percutaneous transhepatic management of dysfunctioning plastic biliary endoprostheses (PBE) in patients with benign/malign biliary strictures. Materials and methods: Twenty-nine patients (22 men, 7 women; mean age of 60.7 (range 33-88) years) diagnosed with dysfunctioning PBE were included. Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage and subsequent PBE dislodgment into the bowel were performed in all cases. Patient demographics, etiology of the biliary stricture, indication, technical success, complications, and clinical outcomes were gleaned from medical records. Background/aim: Dapagliflozin (DAPA), sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, is an insulin-independent antidiabetic drug used to control hyperglycaemia by promoting glucose excretion from the kidney. Its adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension, dehydration and urinary tract and genital infections caused by glycosuria. DAPA is subjected to constant additional monitoring, as drugrelated adverse reactions are frequently updated in line with the results of case studies, clinical trials and in vivo studies. We aimed to investigate the emergence of paired somatosensory responses in relation to the interstimulus interval (ISI) change. Materials and methods: Paired stimulus with 35 ms, 50 ms, 80 ms, 140 ms, and 500 ms ISI was applied to the median nerve and evoked responses were recorded from the primary somatosensory cortex in rats. Materials and methods: Initially, data from 55 patients who underwent IPSS in our institution were reviewed retrospectively. IPSS lateralization and pituitary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results of these patients were compared with postoperative follow-up and immunohistochemical data to calculate the positive predictive values (PPVs) for IPSS and MRI. Background/aim: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in childhood, is diagnosed clinically by assessing the symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
