Over the last decade there has been distinct growth in the area of library-based research data management (RDM) programs and services. Yet for many academic and health research institutions, 2025 has been a year of steep budget cuts, requiring institutions to devise creative ways to assess and sustain local data services. In this poster we explore how a “cultured collaboration” between the George Washington University health sciences library (Himmelfarb) and the main campus library (GW Libraries and Academic Innovation/LAI) is being utilized to expand service offerings and retain vital services despite fiscal challenges.

Background: Empathy has been identified as a crucial skill for all healthcare providers who treat patients with chronic pain. It has been directly linked to higher patient satisfaction and improved health outcomes. It has also been linked to reduced burnout, fewer medical errors, and improved job satisfaction among healthcare providers. Despite the many interventions that have been developed to promote empathy, the decline of empathy in healthcare providers and trainees continues to be of great concern, especially in pain management and opioid prescribing, thus affecting the quality of care given to these patients. Background: Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death in adults over age 65 (CDC, 2024). Traditional exercise-based interventions may have an impact on fall prevention (US Preventive Services Task Force et al., 2024). Providing these programs is resource-intensive, however mHealth applications may expand comprehensive fall prevention. We seek to know if there are differences in the interactions with mHealth in adults ages 65-89 in the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) population and if these differences are related to social determinants of health (SDOH).

Background: One tobacco trend of the 21 st century is smoking hookah or waterpipes. Hookah smoking is thriving on a false widespread belief that it is a safe alternate to smoking cigarettes when in fact it has adverse effects on health and is not safer. Background: Patient engagement (PE) in clinical research has become “extensively and internationally recognized as important and gained growing policy attention, supported by scientific evidence” (Al-Tannir et al., 2017, Background section). The proliferation of PE directives has driven the paradigm shift in drug development from a paternalistic approach to a more patient-centric approach influenced by regulatory agencies, funders, and academic initiatives (Bombak & Hanson, 2017). However, too often, PE activities are not well considered for discovering actionable insights but are merely an empty formality. Background

High-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are aggressive hematologic malignancies with poor prognoses, where extending survival often comes at the cost of substantial morbidity. This study was grounded in the quality of survival (QoS) framework, which emphasizes that treatment outcomes should balance longevity with the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) experienced during the period of survival. In this context, patient-reported outcomes are crucial to capturing what truly matters to patients. However, existing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) used in MDS/AML clinical trials may not fully reflect patient priorities. This qualitative descriptive case study investigates the relationship between organizational culture and the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) across multiple research institutions. Utilizing elements of the Cultural Dynamics Model and the Implementation Drivers Framework, the study examines how institutional structures and cultural norms shape research integrity practices. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students, as well as an artifact review of institutional policies, training resources, and guidance for research best practices.

For more than thirty years, extensive research has focused on understanding and supporting healthy aging among older adults in the United States. This research has emphasized the importance of community engagement, access to resources, and interpersonal relationships among the broader older adult population, However, it has largely overlooked how transgender older adults experience aging and how those experiences shape their social participation. Additionally, understanding how intersecting marginalized identities—such as race and transgender identity—affect social participation is essential.

Background: More than 50% of patients with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) are left without explanations for their losses. However, current research suggests that up to 90% of these individuals could receive explanations through evidence-based laboratory testing. Professional guidelines vary in their recommendations for laboratory testing and RPL evaluation, which can contribute to delayed or fragmented care and untreated maternal disease. Inequities in access to genetic testing further complicate the diagnostic landscape of RPL since payor policies often determine which tests are covered, leaving many patients without access due to financial constraints.
