Conduct Professionals' Experiences With Student Misconduct And Mental Health, Robyn Bauer
Conduct Professionals' Experiences With Student Misconduct And Mental Health, Robyn Bauer
Masters Theses
Over the years, mental health concerns have continued to rise in college students and is compounded by the natural stressors associated with navigating unfamiliar territory, increased social and academic pressures, as well as added responsibilities and obligations (Pedrelli et al., 2015). Mental illnesses have been linked to misconduct, disruptive behavior, or violent behavior among students (Center for Parent Information and Resources, 2017; Johnson et al., 2018; Semenza & Grosholz, 2019; Taylor & Smith, 2019). There is limited research focused on the intersection of mental health and misconduct. This qualitative study utilized semi-structured questions to explore how conduct professionals manage mental …

Identification And Cloning Of Transcripts From Triterpenoid-Induced Neuronal Outgrowth In Neuro-2a Cells From Mus Musculus, Meshael Alrashidi
Masters Theses
Neurodegenerative diseases severely reduce quality of life and are often responsible for the death of those suffering from them. In addition to the societal toll these diseases inflict on populations, the health care costs are estimated to be hundreds of billions of dollars annually for the U.S. alone. Unfortunately, direct pharmacological treatment for some of the most common of these diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, remains elusive. Traditional medicine in China and India have recommended a variety of plants for preventing and treating these diseases. For example, Centella asiatica (L.) Urban, also knows as Gotu Kola, is believed to treat and …

The Acute Impact Of Stair Climbing On Vertical Jump Height, Matthew Grossman
The Acute Impact Of Stair Climbing On Vertical Jump Height, Matthew Grossman
Masters Theses
Vertical jump (VJ) is a strong determinant of explosive power in the trained and untrained population. There is agreement among the literature that vertical jump training can be improved through progression in specific training related to vertical jump. For example, plyometrics is a widely studied training method for increasing VJ, and has been generally accepted method for increasing VJ. Within the literature, training methods are continually being studied to improve athletic performance. Exploration of improvements outside of resistance training can provide further insight on enchancing athletic performance. The present study examined the acute impact of stair climbing (SC) on VJ. …
Synthesis, Characterization And Photophysical Properties Of Ytterbium Complexes Of Functionalized Porphyrins And Porpholactone, Beibei Liu
Masters Theses
The unique structure and superior properties of lanthanide porphyrins enable them to be used in a broad variety of applications, especially in medical diagnosis fields. This research focuses on modifying the porphyrin ligands in various places, resulting in broader absorption in the red region and strong emission in the near-infrared region for these ytterbium(III) porphyrin complexes. The design, synthesis and characterization for DMPH2-BDP, DMPH2-COOH, TPLH2 ligands and YbDMP-BDP, YbDMP-COOH complexes are described. The photophysical properties of these ligands and complexes including their absorbance, fluorescence and quantum yields are also presented. Both the synthesized ligands and …
