Anthelmintic Efficacy Of Haloxil Against Paramphistomiasis And Neoascariasis In Dairy Cows, Somkiat Tachampa

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

Anthelmintic efficacy of Haloxil (mixture of Haloxon and Oxyclozanide) against paramphistomiasis and neoascariasis was tested in 25 naturally-infected dairy cows by using egg count as parameter. 100% egg reductions of both worms were observed in all Haloxil treated animals from the first through the tenth weeks post treatment no overt side effect was observed during that period.

Comparisons Of Videotape Observation To Direct Observation, John W. Hanlan Feb 1980

Comparisons Of Videotape Observation To Direct Observation, John W. Hanlan

Dissertations and Theses

This research examined the validity of videotaped analyses of clinical sessions in comparison to direct (live) observations. The subjects were eleven student clinicians and their respective clients, enrolled Fall Term, 1979, in Portland State University's Speech and Hearing Sciences Articulation and Language and Urban Language Clinics. The Boone-Prescott Interactional Analysis System, a numerically coded system, was used to record clinician/client interactions. Data were obtained for a randomly selected five-minute period from each of thirty clinical sessions.

Insulin Degradation By Adipose Tissue. Studies At Several Levels Of Cellular Organization, Barry J. Goldstein, James N. Livingston Feb 1980

Insulin Degradation By Adipose Tissue. Studies At Several Levels Of Cellular Organization, Barry J. Goldstein, James N. Livingston

Department of Medicine Faculty Papers

A systematic study of the degradation of physiological concentrations of 125I-labelled insulin was performed in intact fat-pads, isolated adipocytes and subcellular fractions of isolated adipocytes. The findings indicate that insulin is rapidly degraded to low-molecular-weight peptides and/or amino acids by the intact tissue and isolated cells. Of the total insulin-degradation products present after incubation with an intact fat-pad, 94% is recovered in the medium, indicating that these products are not retained by the cells or tissue. The plasma membranes do not degrade insulin significantly in the absence of reduced glutathione, and over 99% of the cellular degradative capacity is …

Antenatal Genetic Studies, Fay Redwine Jan 1980

Antenatal Genetic Studies, Fay Redwine

MCV/Q, Medical College of Virginia Quarterly

The Antenatal Genetic Testing Program at MCV began in 1973. The standard scheme for antenatal genetic testing involves counseling, the methods of carrier detection available, ultrasound, amniocentesis, and laboratory evaluation. Patients are referred because of a family or personal history of a genetic abnormality or because they have been evaluated in a carrier detection program like those for Tay-Sachs disease or Sickle Cell disease and are known carriers. After referral, patients are given genetic counseling by me and members of the Department of Human Genetics; if antenatal genetic testing is deemed appropriate, we obtain informed consent and proceed with an …
