Haloperidol is a typical antipsychotic drug; it is widely used for people with various psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and dementia. Despite its effectiveness in controlling delusions, hallucinations, agitation, and other disruptive behavioral symptoms in these psychiatric conditions, it has adverse side effects such as extrapyramidal manifestation and endocrinologic and metabolic changes. Initial evidence shows that haloperidol has antitumor properties in several cancer types by inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. Intense urbanization and increased anthropogenic activity are two important factors contributing to the decline of soil and water quality in Houston watersheds, which poses a great environmental and human health risks. This study, therefore, was designed to: 1) determine nutrient and metal concentrations in soil and water samples along Carpenters Bayou (CaB), Cedar Bayou (CB), Sims Bayou (SB), Spring Creek Bayou (SC) and Vince Bayou (VB), 2) analyze land cover changes in watersheds using Landsat image analysis and 3) evaluate socio-economic characteristics and human health risks for each watershed. Acrolein is an unsaturated aldehyde which produce chemicals used as an intermediate reactive aldehyde in the chemical industry. The primary component of acrolein, is derived from the incomplete combustion of wood, plastic, fossil fuels, the main component of cigarette smoke, the burning of fats and overheating of oil. Houston has a complex watershed in which bayous intersect one another making the city prone to flooding, as evidenced by the 2017 Hurricane Harvey flood. We sought to evaluate bacterial population dynamics in Houston watershed soils pre- and post-Hurricane Harvey; additionally, we evaluated population dynamics in neighboring, downstream bayous ~ 1 year later in the summer and winter of 2018. This study quantified bacterial loads for pre-Hurricane Harvey (June 2017) and post-hurricane Harvey (November 2017) soil samples, as well as competitive samples from one year later [summer (June 2018) and winter (November) 2018]. Food coloring dyes are substances known to enhance the appearance of food or drink by imparting color when it is added. They have been in large commercial food production as well as in its use in domestic food applications and non-food applications. The toxic effects of food coloring dyes have been seen in the enzymatic breakdown of the azo linkage of the dye molecule by enzyme; azo reductase. The degradation of such food dye products give rise to increased toxic effects that affect the nervous system.
