This study aimed to understand the effects of adopting peer support in physical education (PE) class on university students’ body composition and circumference. Two university PE classes were recruited and assigned randomly to class with peer support (CWP; n=41; 8 underweight, 23 normal weight, 5 overweight, and 5 obesity; mean age=19.6±1.3yrs; height=169.5±8.0 cm) or class without peer support (CWOP; n=41; 9 underweight, 23 normal weight, 4 overweight, 5 obesity; mean age=19.3±1.1yrs; height=169.1±6.7 cm). Exercise promotes functional improvements in aged tissues, but the extent to which it simulates partial molecular reprogramming is unknown. Using transcriptome profiling from (1) a skeletal muscle-specific in vivo Oct3/4, Klf4, Sox2 and Myc (OKSM) reprogramming-factor expression murine model; (2) an in vivo inducible muscle-specific Myc induction murine model; (3) a translatable high-volume hypertrophic exercise training approach in aged mice; and (4) human exercise muscle biopsies, we collectively defined exercise-induced genes that are common to partial reprogramming. Swimming can impact the physical and mental well-being of persons with ASD, which in turn may improve their caregivers’ well-being. The purpose of this qualitative evaluation study is to assess the necessity, acceptability, feasibility, fidelity, and beginning effectiveness of a 12-session swimming training program (STP) at an indoor university pool designed to teach persons with ASD how to swim, and to teach caregivers precautions for safety around water. However, updated prevalence rates and assessment of risks across sports, academic status, and genders are needed. Previous studies demonstrate that endothelial function is improved through exercise, and that young, active adults experience impaired endothelial function following short-term physical inactivity interventions. Background: Assessing cognitive constructs affected by Alzheimer disease, such as processing speed (PS), is important to screen for potential disease and allow for early detection. Digital PS assessments have been developed to provide widespread, efficient cognitive testing, but all have been validated only based on the correlation between test scores. Best statistical practices dictate that concurrent validity should be assessed for agreement or equivalence rather than using correlation alone.

A mode-specific swimming protocol to assess maximal aerobic uptake (VO2maxsw) is vital to accurately evaluate swimming performance. A need exists for reliable and valid swimming protocols that assess VO2maxsw in a flume environment. We investigated the role of three intensities of aerobic exercise (Low Intensity [LI], Moderate Intensity [MI], High Intensity [HI]) on information processing and cognition (IPC) by analyzing response time (RPT) and its fractionated components (1) reaction time (RT, interval between stimulus onset and muscle activation, and (2) movement time (MT, time interval between muscle activation and completion of the required motor response). This study examined the validity and reliability of a video-based smartphone application (VBA) to measure displacement and velocity in the barbell bench press, back squat, and deadlift. Nine resistance-trained subjects (three females; six males; age: 24.2±4.2 years; height 175.8±8.1 cm; body mass 87.2±18.2kg) completed two test-retest sessions for the barbell bench press, back squat, and deadlift one week apart. Eight repetitions were completed for the bench press, back squat, and deadlift with a load of 40kg and completed at fast and slow velocities. Police academies are typically the first formalized job-task-oriented exercise training for law enforcement officers (LEOs).
