Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari fermentabilitas dan kecernaan ransum lengkap sapi perah berbasis jerami padi dan pucuk tebu teramoniasi in vitro. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) enam perlakuan yang diulang lima kali. Perlakuan terdiri atas R1 (60% RG + 40% konsentrat), R2 (30% RG + 30% JPA + 40% konsentrat), R3 (30% RG + 30% PTA + 40% konsentrat), R4 (30% JPA + 30% PTA + 40% konsentrat), R5 (60% JPA + 40% konsentrat) dan R6 (60% PTA + 40% konsentrat). In order to examine and obtain a better understanding of the local food system within Adams County, Pennsylvania, this study explores the characteristics and perspectives of the customers and vendors at the farmers markets in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Survey findings from the Gettysburg Farmers Market and the three Adams County Farmers Markets include customer demographic information, perspectives and shopping behavior as well as vendor product information, farm size and location and preference for market management. The Trade And Welfare Impacts Of Australian Quarantine Policies: The Case Of Pigmeat, John C. Beghin, Mark Melatos

We analyze the trade and welfare impact of quarantine measures imposed by Australia on imports of pigmeat. In particular, we account for changes to Australia’s pigmeat quarantine policy over time, including those changes related to the recent resolution of a WTO dispute between Australia and the European Union. Using a random utility model and applying it to corner solutions in import decisions, tariff equivalents (by major trading partner) are estimated for the different pigmeat quarantine regimes implemented by Australia during the period 1988-2009. Health-oriented juices are prime candidates for the nutraceutical market due to their inherent healthfulness and convenience. Fruits such as açaí berries, blueberries, blackberries, black cherries, Concord grapes, cranberries, and pomegranates are rich in potentially health-supporting polyphenolics, which makes the juices of these fruits attractive for nutraceutical optimization. The compositional, sensory, and stability properties of blueberry, blackberry, and Concord grape juice blends were explored in an extended shelf-life study. Initially, 100% blueberry juice had the highest total monomeric anthocyanins (67.40 mg/100mL), 100% blackberry juice had the highest total phenolics (249.24 mg/100mL), and 100% Concord juice had the highest polymeric color (23.21%). …

This Essay analyzes how the New England states' planning processes are envisioning revitalized local, state, and regional food systems. This Essay has five parts. First, it begins with examining compelling reasons for promoting more sustainable food systems based on national and global trends, and identifies strategies for promoting regional food systems approaches with a brief introduction to the major influences on the national and New England food system. Second, it describes the states' planning efforts and their enabling legislation or source of authority.

The markets and industrial utilization of agricultural commodities have undergone considerable change in the last few decades.

In Zambia, sorghum was considered a traditional crop with limited industrial uses.

Research and transformations in consumer tastes and preferences have led to the development of new uses for sorghum.

Potential markets for industrial utilization of sorghum have been identified as food processing, beer brewing, feed concentrates and energy production.

Needed to grow our market and to do this we needed to make beer cheaper
