Anthers of Lilium formosum were collected ranging from the very young to the mature. Anthers used for the writing of this paper were gathered around Easter time or early April. The anthers were removed from the bud and the ends were cut off. Each anther was cut into three or four parts at right angles to their respective lengths. After the washing, infiltration, and imbedding was completed, sections were cut from eight to ten micra in thickness.
