Effect Of Green Tea On Interaction Of Lipid Oxidation Products With Sarcoplasmic And Myofibrillar Protein Homogenates Extracted From Bovine Top Round Muscle, Nahathai Stapornkul, Tatiana Prytkova, Lilian Were
Food Science Faculty Articles and Research
The interaction between lipid oxidation products and bovine sarcoplasmic (SP) and myofibrillar protein (MP) homogenates in the presence of green tea was investigated. To monitor the effect of green tea on lipid oxidation, aldehydes were measured while effect on protein was monitored via changes in myoglobin, thiols, and tryptophan fluorescence over nine days of refrigerated storage. The presence of SP and MP decreased free aldehydes in the buffers. The SP bound more aldehydes than MP. The tea compounds exhibited more favorable binding energies than aldehydes near histidine 64 close to the heme moiety of myoglobin. Addition of tea lowered tryptophan …

Productive Pastures Pay - A Manual On Pasture Establishment And Management For The Above 700 Mm Rainfall Zone, P T. Arkell
Productive Pastures Pay - A Manual On Pasture Establishment And Management For The Above 700 Mm Rainfall Zone, P T. Arkell
Bulletins 4000 -
This manual on pasture establishment andmanagement is designed to help farmers grow productive pastures. It deals with annual and perennial pastures on dryland and irrigated farms in the above 700 mm rainfall zone and may be used by individual farmers or discussion groups. Input from discussion groups will improve futureeditions of the manual.Farmers frequently need to reseed their pastures. Pastures deteriorate and new, more productive species and cultivars come on to the market. Also improved techniques are developed to tackle land management problems like salinity, waterlogging and acidity. All these situations lead to a reseeding operation.

The Agriculture And Land Description Of The Midlands, Wongan Hills And Dalwallinu Districts Of W.A., D N. Sawkins
Agriculture reports
This report deals with the area of responsibility of the Moora District Office of the W.A. Department of Agriculture. The Moora advisory district consists of seven shires which cover 2,811,400 hectares. Agriculture in the advisory district varies according to climate and soil type, Sheep and cattle production are the main enterprises in the high rainfall (coastal) areas. Mixed cereal sheep production is the main system in the medium and low rainfall areas with cereals increasing in importance as annual rainfall diminishes.
Farm Grazing Levels, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia
Farm Grazing Levels, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Stocking rates in many dairying areas are so low that the Division has established nine grazing level demonstrations in various areas.
Their aim is to demonstrate that higher stocking rates are practical on existing farms.
High Stocking Rate On Kikuyu Dairy Pasture : Progress Report On Grazing Trials On Kikuyu-Sub. Clover Pasture At Denmark Research Station, F E. Ryan
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
KIKUYU is one of the most valuable pasture plants on dairy farms in the South-West of Western Australia.
It combines well with subterranean clover and ryegrass if heavily stocked, and pastures managed in this way can be cut for legume-grass hay in the spring. However, relatively little is known of its carrying capacity or potential for production under grazing.
W.A. Dairying : Progress In 42 Years, Maurice C. Cullity
W.A. Dairying : Progress In 42 Years, Maurice C. Cullity
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
From hardship and elementary standards, West Australian dairying has developed into a consolidated industry with larger herds, increased output and high quality production.
The changes he has seen are reviewed by Mr. M. Cullity who retired last month from the position of Chief of the Division of Dairying, after 42 years of service to the industry.
THE history of Western Australia's dairying industry has been a story of struggle against hardship, marketing problems and adverse criticism.
In spite of this the industry has steadily grown and greatly improved its efficiency.
Dairy Farming In The Busselton-Margaret River District. Part 2. Stocking Rate And Production, R A. Bettenay
Dairy Farming In The Busselton-Margaret River District. Part 2. Stocking Rate And Production, R A. Bettenay
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Survey results suggest that the production of butterfat per acre could be doubled on many farms in the Busselton-Margaret River district.—Second in a series of articles reporting a survey of farm practices on 100 farms in the district.
Grazing To Control Pasture Composition, R A. Bettenay
Grazing To Control Pasture Composition, R A. Bettenay
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
APART from grazing management, there are a number of means by which the farmer can influence pasture composition.
With the exception of grazing, all of these processes involve recurring costs, so it is important to exert the utmost possible control through the grazing animal.
