Faunistic Studies On The Species Of The Subfamily Clytrinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) Of Dedegöl Mountains (Isparta), Ali̇ Gök

We determined 20 species belonging to seven genera in the subfamily Clytrinae from Dedegöl Mountains and the vicinity between 1996 and 1998. Among them, Cheilotoma beldei Kasap is an endemic species for Turkey. Although the distribution area of Labidostomis peregrina Weise (Caucasus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Russia) is known, it has also been reported from the East Anatolian region of Turkey. The present study reports it from the western part of Turkey. The body part figures of taxonomic importance for each species are presented. In addition, their distribution generally and in Turkey are given.

Thirty-five microcrustacean taxa, comprising 21 species of cladocerans, eight species and one subspecies of copepods, and five species of ostracods were identified from Lake Sazlıgöl during a 17-month research period in 1998-1999. Of these species, Eucypris ornata (Müller, 1776) (Ostracoda) was recorded as new species for the freshwater fauna of Turkey.

Field studies were conducted by taking samples vertically and horizontally during a specific period of each month between April 2000 and March 2001 in Lake Terkos. A total of 28 species belonging to six families of Cladocera and 13 species from seven families of Copepoda are identified. Their known geographical distribution in Turkey have been given according to provinces.

Studies on the cephalopods of Turkish coasts have been going on since 1988. As a result of these studies, a total of 43 species have been determined, comprising 11 species from the Sea of Marmara, 38 from the Aegean Sea and 24 from the Mediterranean Sea. With respect to other studies carried out excluding Turkish coasts, the eastern Mediterranean cephalopod fauna has increased to 51 species. This study was carried out to investigate the species of the subfamily Tryphoninae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) in Turkish Thrace between 1992 and 1994. A total of 89 samples were collected from 42 localities and 26 species belonging to 11 genera were determined. Diagnostic keys to the species, subgenera and genera were prepared. In order to distinguish morphological characters that were mentioned in the keys, 31 original figures are given. In this study, 1812 Ephemeroptera nymphs were collected in order to determine the Ephemeroptera fauna of Lake Ulubat Basin between April 1996 and September 1999. The distribution of 38 species belonging to 22 genera and 10 families is presented. Among these, the genus Brachycercus Curtis, 1834 and the species Brachycercus harrisella Curtis, 1834 are recorded in Turkey for the first time. In addition, previous records on the distribution of all 38 species in Turkey are given.

The material of the subfamily Cryptocephalinae collected from Dedegöl Mountains (Isparta) between 1996 and 1998 consisted of 21 species belonging to the genera Pachybrachis and Cryptocephalus. A diagnostic key and distribution records for the species are presented. The species except for Cryptocephalus bipunctatus (L.), C. turcicus Suffrian, C. connexus Olivier, Pachybrachis limbatus (Menetries), P. fimbriolatus (Suffrian) and P. tessellatus orientalis Weise are new for Isparta.

This study was carried out to determine the species of the subfamily Agathidinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) in the Marmara region of Turkey. Samples were collected from 47 localities between 1985 and 1997. A total of 16 species were determined. The results revealed that Agathis fulmeki Fischer and Bassus linguarius (Nees von Esenbeck) are new records for the Turkish fauna. Agathis malvacearum Latreille, A. lugubris (Foerster, 1862) and Baeognatha armeniaca Telenga are new records for the Marmara region. Samples were collected from the islands of Gökçeada and Bozcaada between 1996 and 1997. A total of 28 species belonging to 7 genera of Microgastrinae were determined. The species which are new records for the Turkish fauna are Apanteles brunnistigma Abdinbekova, Dolichogenidea cheles (Nixon), D. lacteicolor (Viereck), D. petrovae (Walley), D. subemarginata (Abdinbekova), Choeras parasitellae (Bouché), Glyptapanteles acasta (Nixon), Cotesia setebis (Nixon), and Microplitis docilis Nixon.

This study was performed at Lakes Erikli, Hamam, Mert, Pedina and Saka (İğneda, Kırklareli) in 1999. Materials collected seasonally from the 20 stations were evaluated. The 24 species (Candona neglecta, Fabaeformiscandona fabaeformis, Pseudocandona compressa, Pseudocandona hartwigi, Pseudocandona marchica, Candonopsis kingsleii, Cypria ophtalmica, Physocypria kraepelini, Ilyocypris biplicata, Ilyocypris monstrifica, Cypris bispinosa, Eucypris inflata, Eucypris virens, Psychrodromus olivaceus, Heterocypris incongruens, Heterocypris salina, Cyprinotus inaequivalvis, Cypridopsis vidua, Limnocythere inopinata, Limnocythere stationis, Cyprideis torosa, Callistocythere diffusa, Pontocythere bacescoi and Urocythereis margaritifera) belonging to 18 genera were recorded. In this faunistic study carried out in the Anatolian part of Çanakkale province, 40 Tabanidae species distributed in the area were determined. Previous studies carried out in this province reported 31 species. Overall, 52 species belonging to Pangoninae, Chrysopsinae and Tabaninae subfamilies have been determined to date. Twenty-one of these species are first records for the province and Silvius latifrons graecus Chv., Mch., & Lyn., is a first record for Turkey as well.

With the aim of identifying cladoceran and copepod fauna of İkizgöl, which is situated 565 m above sea level on the southern slope of Yamanlar Mountain, plankton samples were collected monthly by plankton net horizontally and vertically, with a mesh size of 55µm between December 1994 and May 1996. Collected specimens were preserved in 4% formaldehyde. As a result, a total of 16 (12 cladoceran and 4 copepods) species were identified from İkizgöl.

The faunistic study was carried out in Balıkesir province between 1996-1997 and 50 Tabanidae species were determined. The total number of species reported from the province by previous studies and this study reached 57. Twenty-four of these species are the first records for this province. Five species are from Chrysopsinae, and the rest of them are from Tabaninae.

This paper presents the results of studies on the helminth fauna of the green toad, Bufo viridis, in Uzbekistan. Twently helminth species were identified. The highest diversity of helminths was recorded in toads in the newly-built districts of Tashkent (1966-76). The helminth fauna of the toads inhabiting foothills was less common.

In this study, the results of observations made in different localities (Edirne and environs, the Istranca Mountains, Iğneada and environs) of the Thrace region are evaluated. Field work was carried out during the period 1987-1996, comprising a total of 228 working days in the field. The findings were discussed and compared with data currently available in the literature. As a result, 179 species belonging to 50 families were recorded. These species and related data are collated in a table. The importance of the region and the problems that threaten the ornito-fauna are discussed.

Studies were carried out to establish the family of Pentatomidae within 50 localities in Edirne and its provinces during the seasons of spring, summer and autumn of 1992-1994. Thus, 7 species, 6 genus of Podopinae; 2 species, 2 genus of Asopinae; 25 species, 16 genus of Pentatominae and as a total of 34 species, 24 genus, 3 subfamilies, belong to the family of Pentatomidae were determined. Studies so far conducted in Turkey on the species of Vespoidea were reviewed. Including the new taxa determined in this study, a total of 234 species and 48 subspecies belonging to 51 genera have been recorded in Turkey so far. The new records for Turkish fauna are Alastor esfandiarii Giordani Soika, Brachyodynerus kopetdagicus Kostylev and Ischnogasteroides picteci tenuis (Morawitz) in the family Eumenidae. Important diagnostic characters of these species and subspecies are described and shown in figures. After a review of the literature on the Tabanidae fauna of Turkey, it was found that 156 species and 12 subspecies have been reported. Twelve of the species are from the subfamily Pangoninae, 19 species and 2 subspecies are from the subfamiy Chrysopsinae and 125 species and 10 subspecies are from the subfamily Tabaninae.

Birds of Karapınar -Konya have been studied between 1994 and 1995. In which months these species are seen have been determined. 151 species determined belong to 16 orders and 46 families. A different geological and geographical region of Turkey have been shown to inhabit a very rich avifauna. Thus, this study aims to introduce this region, which will contribute to the conservation of the region from various respects( erosion, hunting etc.).

Sixtyfour species of Tabanidae (Diptera) were determinated in Trakya region of Turkey by this study. Eight of these, Chrysops relictus Meig., Dasyramphis anthracinus (Meig.), Atylotus latistriatus (Brauer), A. venturii Leclercq, Hybomitra bimaculata (Macq.), H. pilosa (Loew), Tabanus maculicornis Zetterstedt, Haematopota gallica Szi., are new records for Tabanidae fauna of Turkey. 33 out of 64 species were recorded by their distribution patterns in Trakya region for the first time. The number of Tabanidae species in Trakya region reached to 74 with this study and the previous records.

The present study was undertaken to determine the fauna of Geometridae in Turkish Thrace. Samples were collected from 81 different localities between 19911993. Results show that Geometridae is represented with a total of 115 species belonging to 67 genus of 5 subfamilies as follows : Archiearinae; 1 genus and 1 species, Geometrinae; 4 genus and 4 species, Scopulinae; 7 genus and 41 species, Larentiinae; 22 genus and 31 species, Ennominae; 33 genus and 38 species.
