Eastern Wheatbelt Farm Economics, Peter Eckersley
Eastern Wheatbelt Farm Economics, Peter Eckersley
Soil conservation survey collection
This booklet outlines the current cost structure and profitability of a farm in the eastern wheatbelt. Rather than being figures for an 'average farm', they reflect the use of practices widely recommended by the Department of Agriculture on a typical property in the area. This does not mean the Department of Agriculture believes every farm in the area should be run this way. The best way to run any particular farm depends on the resources and objectives of that farmer.
Economic Implications Of Alternative Dry-Bulk Fertilizer Supply Systems: A South-Central Nebraska Case Study, Mary Berglund, Dale G. Anderson
Economic Implications Of Alternative Dry-Bulk Fertilizer Supply Systems: A South-Central Nebraska Case Study, Mary Berglund, Dale G. Anderson
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Research Bulletins
This study analyzed the economic implications of alternative patterns of rail service for a case-study area in south-central Nebraska. Special attention was given to effects of branchline abandonments on the delivery system for dry-bulk fertilizer. The study was an extension of an earlier Nebraska track abandonment study which focused only on grain traffic. The purpose of the latest study was to establish the effect of including dry-bulk fertilizer, the major commodity moving into the area by rail, on the earlier results. The addition of fertilizer to the analysis did not appreciably change the outcome of the earlier grain-oriented study.

Costs Per Hour And Per Acre For Machine Operations, Herbert R. Allen
Costs Per Hour And Per Acre For Machine Operations, Herbert R. Allen
Agricultural Experiment Station Agricultural Economics Pamphlets (1941-1991)
Machine costs are affected by many variables. Size, age, purchase price, maintenance, fuel type, and hours of use each year are just a few of the many factors involved. They may be different in each individual farm situation. List prices employed in arriving at costs are based upon 1979 price levels. These prices may vary because of geographic location as well as special options available on most machines. However, prices used in this publication are believed by the author to be representative of investment requirements for the machines that are listed.

Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Developments In 1978-79, Bruce Johnson, Ronald J. Hanson
Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Developments In 1978-79, Bruce Johnson, Ronald J. Hanson
Nebraska Farm Real Estate Reports
Farm real estate values in Nebraska have trended upward for several decades with only a few interruptions. In Nebraska as well as most of the Nation, dramatic increases have occurred within the last six years. The year 1978-79 was no exception.
Data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for February 1, 1979 showed a 22 percent increase in the average value of Nebraska farmland from a year earlier. This was certainly in contrast to the 4 percent drop in land values reported for 1977-78.
Results of the second annual Nebraska Farm Real Estate Market Survey conducted by the Department …

A Forecasting-Programming Method For Placement-Sales Decisions For A Beef Feedlot, Franz Schwarz, J. B. Hassler
A Forecasting-Programming Method For Placement-Sales Decisions For A Beef Feedlot, Franz Schwarz, J. B. Hassler
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Research Bulletins
This bulletin reports on a practical multi-period linear programming procedure as a management tool for decisions on placements and marketings for a beef feedlot operating over time under market uncertainty. Although the conclusions were based on application to an individual firm with uniqueness in time and space, the model should be equally appropriate for any firm's production and marketing decisions through time.

Farm Management Information - Comparative Costs And Return Whole Farm Budgets, Machinery Costs, Gross Margins, A. F. Herbert
Farm Systems and Economics published reports
The cropping costs, gross margins, and whole farm budgets contained in this booklet are published to assist you in your selection of enterprises on the farm, and to give background information for prospective farm purchasers in the Esperance/Dundas area.
The worked examples have attempted to approximate reality. However, individuals do things differently and it is pointless to generalize. The information presented should only be used as a guide. You need to prepare your own budgets for your own situation using your own assumptions and up-to-date costs and prices.
Services of the Department of Agriculture are readily available should you wish …
An Econometric Analysis Of The Cash Receipts From Crops In South Dakota, Dennis James Senger
An Econometric Analysis Of The Cash Receipts From Crops In South Dakota, Dennis James Senger
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
It is the intent of this research effort to fill a void left in the previous research efforts. This study will not be concerned with how farmers adjust production in response to price or government policies. The attempt will be made to adept single equation regression models to the examination of how the level of prices and supplies affect a major portion of the income farming sector receives, specifically the cash crop receipts. The specific objectives of this study are as follows: 1. To construct an economet5ric model of South Dakota crop receipts. 2. To demonstrate the model’s use as …

Contour Cultivation : Cheap Erosion Control, T R. Negus, B. Barrett
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Although the benefits of contour cultivation are well recognised, it makes cultivation more difficult, particularly if the paddock is split by contour banks and grassed waterways. However, a comparison east of Pingelly indicates that contour cultivation is little more expensive or time-consuming than ordinary cultivation.
