Chromium (Cr) is an extremely toxic metal for all living organisms and its concentration in the environment is constantly increasing due to human activities. Plants quickly absorb the Cr subsequently, it enters the human food chain and poses serious health issues. Chromium toxicity causes a serious reduction in plant growth by inducing oxidative damage and disturbing protein synthesis, enzyme activity, and nutrient uptake. Plants use diverse mechanisms to mitigate the Cr toxicity however, they are inadequate against higher concentrations of Cr. Plant parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are one of the major threats to various crops including cereals. In wheat and barleyproduction, the profitability of cultivation heavily depends on the management of cyst nematodes (CNs), especially on Heteroderaavenae, H. filipjevi, and H. latipons. In this study, field surveys were conducted in wheat and barley cultivation systems of Uşak Provinceto reveal the presence and diversity of PPNs. In total, 80 wheat and barley fields were surveyed, and samples (soil and root) wereprocessed for the isolation and identification of PPNs. Boron (B) toxicity is an abiotic stressor in plants due to the narrow threshold range between B deficiency and B toxicity.Glutathione (GSH) has been reported to reduce abiotic stress in plants, but its effect on B toxicity alleviation, particularly in riceseedlings, is not clear. Therefore, the present research yields information on the antioxidant mechanism, nitrogen metabolism, cell wallcomponents, and B concentrations that allow rice seedlings to withstand the adverse effects of B toxicity by GSH application. The resultssuggest that B toxicity suppressed the growth traits of rice. However, GSH treatment exhibited a positive influence on the growth ofrice seedlings. GSH …

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is considered important cereal crops worldwide, ensuring food security post green revolution. Our study results displayed an elevation of 10.6% in root weight density, 15.0 % of root volume density during flowering stage, respectively. The highly significant values for root weight density, root length density and root bulk density were recorded under nitrogen application of 180 kh ha-1 both at flowering and maturity stage. Moreover, delayed senescence and increase in photosynthetic rate were observed during middle and late stages of flowering enhancing light energy interception and improvement in its utilization. Herbicide selectivity is determined by the variability of herbicide degradation processes in weeds and crops. GlutathioneS-transferases (GSTs) have been widely studied in plants because of their role in herbicide metabolism. GSTs metabolize herbicides bycatalyzing reduced glutathione (GSH) conjugation. The significance of GSTs in herbicide metabolism has been understood by examiningGST in some plants. Mixing two or more essential oils (EOs) may increase effectiveness of mango anthracnose control. In this study, EOs from a wide range of plant materials were hydro-distilled and chemically characterized. EOs were tested against in vitro growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. EOs with the highest antifungal toxicity were selected for the interactive experiments. The results showed that orange had the highest extraction yield (4.94%), followed by lemon, pomelo, citronella, turmeric, ginger, lemongrass (LG), cinnamon bark (CB), cinnamon leaf (CL) and basil. To address the problem of atrazine residue in soybeans affecting the ecological environment and human health, in the presentstudy it is proposed to combine the bioorganic fertilizer DNBF10 and the highly efficient degrading bacterial strain AT-b3 with themagnetic biochar carrier MBC to form a novel DMBC-P bioremediation technology. The results indicated that the DMBC-P technologycould effectively reduce the residual amount of atrazine in soybeans and significantly enhance their growth and physiological indexes bypromoting atrazine degradation and phosphorus utilization and reducing oxidative stress. Controlled pollination, involving the transfer of pollen from Tagnanan Tall palm (male parent) to the Malayan Yellow or Red dwarf (female parent) is essential for producing MATAG coconut hybrids. The primary objective of this paper is to quantitatively analyze the number of acres planted per suitable fieldwork day and the total number of fieldwork days available for the complete planting of soybeans (Glycine max L.) in Arkansas. Total days to plant soybeans in each spring from 1980 to 2023 averaged about 33 days, indicating that roughly 33 days are expected, on average, from the month of April to May based on USDA-NASS weekly crop progress and condition data. The aim of the Western Australian soil groups (WA soil groups) is to classify soils of Western Australia into a limited set using criteria that are easy to recognise in the field. It is a general-purpose classification with a focus on agronomic and rangeland grazing potential. The WA soil groups are designed for WA needs. Mean daily temperature effects on plant development rates and quality were evaluated for compact container-grown tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Compact tomato varieties ‘Siam’ and ‘Red Velvet’ were grown in greenhouses at 18 to 26 °C (Expt. 1) and 20 to 30 °C (Expt. 2) under supplemental high-pressure sodium lighting and 16-h photoperiod. The number of days to first open flower, first ripe fruit and from flower to ripe fruit were measured and development rates calculated by taking the reciprocal (e.g., 1/d). Seed priming is a critical pre-sowing strategy to enhance germination and early seedling vigour under diverse environmental conditions. This study evaluated the effects of various priming agents, including Boric acid, DAP, CaCO3, FeCl2, Urea, PEG (5%), CuSO4, MOP, PEG (10%), and ZnSO4, on germination parameters-germination percentage (GP), germination speed (GS), germination energy (GE), and vigour index (VI)-across rice, wheat, and maize varieties. A two factorial experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design, with ANOVA revealing significant effects (p < 0.001) of variety, treatment, and their interaction on germination traits. The results demonstrated that FeCl2 significantly improved germination in rice, particularly for the BRRI Dhan-66 variety, while CaCO3 and PEG treatments showed varying efficacy across crops. In wheat, the Bijaya variety exhibited superior performance with CaCO3 treatment, whereas DAP was more effective for Banganga. Maize showed the highest germination rates overall, with Sundarharaicha-LR1 responding positively to ZnSO4 and boric acid. Correlation and PCA analyses highlighted strong interdependence among germination traits, with GS and GP emerging as robust indicators. Varietal clustering in PCA revealed genetic variability in response to priming agents. This study provides valuable insights into optimizing priming techniques for enhancing seed performance in cereals. The findings emphasize the importance of tailored priming strategies based on crop species and variety to maximize agricultural productivity.

Aminopyralid is a synthetic auxin herbicide which is applied to grass pastures to control broadleaf weed populations. Aminopyralid can contaminate compost through inputs derived from treated pastures such as manure and grass clippings. This possibility poses the threat of inadvertent herbicide exposure to sensitive vegetable plants through using compost contaminated with aminopyralid. Biochar can absorb pollutants and has a synergistic effect with compost when applied to the compost mixture. Additionally, Florida is a leading cow-calf production state in the United States which is impacted by numerous factors internal and external to the industry itself. The Theory of Reasoned Action was used to explore current trends of the Florida beef cattle industry as perceived by Florida cattle industry leaders. In partnership with Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District (SBSRD), we undertook a study of ecological conditions and user preferences within a quaking aspen recreational destination forest. The location, in two sections know as Run-A-Muk and Right Turn Sage (RAM/RTS), has experienced some forest die-off in the principally aspen dominated forest dissected by ski, bike, and hiking trails. Katuray (Sesbania grandiflora), whose flowers are consumed as steamed vegetables, is an important green manure crop in the Philippines. Understanding different processes leading to seed maturity can aid in determining S. grandiflora’s seed quality, preventing premature harvesting for seed increase, ensuring efficient propagation and production of seedlings, and breeding new varieties of this crop. Multiple flowers were tagged, and three to five pods were collected five days after anthesis (DAA) and at a five-day interval thereafter until 100% germination was achieved. In this study, both untreated and pre-treated green pea grain samples dried at different microwave output powers (90, 180, and 360 W) were rehydrated at three different temperatures (30ºC, 50ºC, and 70ºC). The rehydration kinetics of dried peas were analyzed using both the Peleg and the first-order kinetic models. Observations revealed that the Peleg model exhibited better agreement with the experimental data. As both microwave power and rehydration temperature increased, the rehydration capacity also increased in both pre-treated and untreated peas. Population control of golden apple snails (GAS, Pomacea canaliculata) is beneficial in rice farming; however, the associated control measures can be expensive and time-consuming. Currently, farmers use synthetic molluscicides such as niclosamide to control GAS infestation, but this has some drawbacks. For example, niclosamide has broad toxicity to non-target organisms and negatively affects the growth of rice seedlings. Plant extracts with potent bioactivity and low toxicity to non-target organisms are attractive alternatives to synthetic molluscicides.
