Objective: This study aimed to provide a new direction for the application of protease restriction modification technique in corn protein. Methods: Corn glutelin was extracted from corn gluten meal. The response surface method was used to optimize the hydrolysis conditions of corn glutelin hydrolyzed by alcalase and protamex. Objective: This study aimed to explore a kind of food with low glycemic index (GI) and SDS serial products. Methods: Using highland barley powder as raw material. The optimal enzymolysis conditions were determined by single factor test and response surface test. The hypoglycemic activity of α-glucosidase and α-amylase in vitro was evaluated. Methods: The relationship among impact energy loss, internal stress and impact damage of strawberry during impact was studied by display dynamics simulation method. Objective: To achieve rapid detection of lactose content in milk, a new method for the determination of lactose in milk based on RCM-monosaccharide Ca2+ column and high-performance liquid chromatography has been established. Methods: Milk was precipitated with protein in a 0.2 g/mL trichloroacetic acid solution, and the resulting filtrate was diluted 100 times and filtered with a membrane before entering a high-performance liquid chromatography system. Methods: The cucumber samples were was extracted by ultrasonic acetonitrile and then were purified by dispersed solid phase extraction (QuEChERS). Methods: Using a gantry-type ultra-high-pressure pure water jet cutting platform, different parameters were selected for testing according to different parts of the lamb carcass. Compared the cutting effects, identified the appropriate cutting parameters, and analyzed the cutting losses. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the changes in quality and flavor of semi-dried gold pomfret during the thawing process of logistics transportation. Methods: The logistics transportation process of frozen semi-dried gold pomfret was simulated at different temperatures. The thawing-loss rate, changes in myofibrillar protein conformation, physical and chemical indexes of protein, lipid oxidation and changes in flavor substances were determined. Two pilot trials, investigating the aversive properties of retrorsine and retrorsine nitrogen oxide and that of frosted Senecio latifolius, were executed. Retrorsine and retrorsine-NO (the toxic principles of Senecio retrorsus), unlke sceleratine-NO (the toxic principle of another hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloid containing plant, namely S. latifolius), were not capable of establishing aversion when given to a sheep. Frosted S. latifolius given to a sheep also did not induce aversion. However, a sheep averted to S. latifolius (non-frosted) refused eating frosted S. latifolius.

Molecular breeding methods, such as marker-assisted selection and genomic selection, require high-throughput and cost-effective methods for isolating genomic DNA from plants, specifically from crop tissue or seed with high polysaccharides, lipids, and proteins. A quick and inexpensive high-throughput method for isolating genomic DNA from seed and leaf tissue from multiple crops was tested with a DNA isolation method that combines CTAB extraction buffer and lab-made SA-coated magnetic nanoparticles. Accurate estimation of reference evapotranspiration (ETr) is important for irrigation planning, water resource management, and preserving agricultural and forest habitats. The widely used Penman–Monteith equation (ASCE-PM) estimates ETr across various timescales using ground weather station data. However, discrepancies persist between estimated ETr and measured ETr obtained from weighing lysimeters (ETr-lys), particularly in advective environments. This study assessed different machine learning (ML) models in comparison to ASCE-PM for ETr estimation in highly advective conditions. Growers can choose to grow peppers out in the field or plant them under a protective structure. Sweet peppers, in particular, benefit from the unique growing environment created by a high tunnel. Planting of peppers can start at least 2-4 weeks earlier in the spring, and production can continue into the fall until the first hard freeze.
