This paper considers the four rescripts that survive from the troubled reign of the preceding Emperor, Probus. None contains a great legal innovation; none shows a drastic lowering of legal standards. Their importance lies in what they reveal about general matters. IUSTITIA

The revival of feminism is in many ways different from its earlier stage, although this may in large part be due to what the early feminists accomplished. They were more concerned with substantive legal change-property rights, child custody, divorce, suffrage, and others. In addition to filling in some of the substantive right gaps, we today are more concerned with social attitudes and the exercise of legal rights. Although modern-day feminists have advocated the passage of some reform legislation particularly, the Equal Rights Amendment, much of the focus of the movement is on social and cultural changes.

Roman Canon Law In The Medieval English Church: Stubbs Vs. Maitland Re-Examined After 75 Years In The Light Of Some Records From The Church Courts, Charles Donahue Jr.

Michigan Law Review

The Right Reverend William Stubbs, D.D. (1825-1901), was the Anglican Bishop of Oxford, sometime Regius Professor of Modern History at Oxford, and a scholar of considerable repute. His Constitutional History of England was, until quite recently, the standard work in the field, and his editions of texts for the Rolls Series leave no doubt that he spent long hours ·with basic source material. Frederic William Maitland, M.A. (1850-1906), was an agnostic, the Downing Professor of the Laws of England at Cambridge, and a scholar whose reputation during his life was perhaps not so wide as Stubbs' but whose work commanded …
