Faids: Artificial Intelligence Developmental Systems Framework For Predicting And Preventing Cyberattacks In Supply Chain Networks, Lordt Becklines
Research & Publications
Cyber threats and attacks disrupt and damages supply chain networks (SCNs), which are complex and interlinked. Current methods to predict and prevent cyberattacks are inadequate and ineffective. This research proposes an AI developmental systems framework (FAIDS) to protect SCNs from cyberattacks. The framework has four components: (1) an AI threat intelligence system; (2) an AI risk assessment system; (3) an AI decision support system; and (4) an AI learning and adaptation system. The framework is tested on a simulated retail SCN. The results show that the framework can predict and prevent cyberattacks and improve the network's resilience and security. The …

Research On Path Optimization Algorithm In Dynamic Routing Environment, Xin Xie, Xiaobing Hu, Hang Zhou
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In a real dynamic routing environment, static path optimization (SPO) and traditional dynamic path optimization (DPO) tend to encounter issues such as detours, reversals and high computational complexity due to frequent real-time optimization calculation. To address these problems, a novel restart co-evolutionary path optimization (RCEPO) method based on the ripple-spreading algorithm (RSA) is proposed. This method integrates the path optimization process with the dynamic changes of the routing network environment to enhance the effectiveness of path optimization. Moreover, the path reoptimization calculation is performed only when the dynamic changes in the routing environment exceed the predicted range, thereby reducing …

However, DVL will fail in some cases, and if DVL is isolated directly, the system will become a pure inertial navigation system, which seriously affects the accuracy of navigation and positioning. In order to cope with the situation that DVL is missing in some beams, a DLinear-Informer assisted integrated navigation algorithm is proposed. Through …

Engineering and Technology Management Faculty Publications and Presentations
In the digital and global economy, business leaders need more than just business and technology competencies; they also require empathy. However, there is a notable scarcity of research on empathy in Scrum for product development. This study aims to uncover critical insights into how leaders can foster empathy within virtual Scrum teams. Accordingly, this paper proposes five pivotal themes leaders can employ: Scrum fundamentals, meditation, self- and other-analysis, healthy interactions, and informal connections. These vital strategies offer actionable methods for leaders seeking to enhance empathy within their virtual Scrum teams.
The Role Of Sensing Modalities In Shaping Collective Motion And Group Behavior, Poorendra P. Ramlall
The Role Of Sensing Modalities In Shaping Collective Motion And Group Behavior, Poorendra P. Ramlall
Doctoral Dissertations and Master's Theses
Collective behavior refers to the coordinated movements that emerge from simple interactions between individuals within a group. Traditionally, researchers have modeled these interactions assuming individuals can sense their surroundings in all directions, like having eyes all around their heads. While this is a useful simplification, it does not capture the diverse ways animals actually sense the world. In this thesis, we take inspiration from the natural world, particularly from animals like bats and dolphins that use a combination of hearing and sight to navigate their environments. We explore how combining these sensory cues in a three-dimensional space affects the way …

Specifically, the stacked FT_FSs explore the hidden features in the data by transferring data from the original data space to the high-level feature space. MPRFD_FS, on the other hand, implements classification based on multiple prototypes that characterize the distribution …

Abstract: Many existing strategies for improving particle swarm optimization (PSO) fall short in assisting particles trapped in local optima and experiencing premature convergence to recover optimization performance. In response, an adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm based on trap label and lazy ant (TLLA-APSO) is proposed. Firstly, the trap label strategy dynamically adjusts particle velocities, enabling the particle swarm to escape from local optima. Secondly, the lazy ant optimization strategy is employed to diversify particle velocity and enhance population diversity. Finally, the inertia cognition strategy introduces historical position into velocity updates, promoting path diversity and particle exploration while effectively mitigating the …
