The purpose of this report is to analyze Building 310 with regards to fire and life safety. Analysis was done both prescriptively and from a performance based design standpoint. The prescriptive based analysis includes review of the building’s design with regards to egress, fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and structural fire protection. The building was reviewed against current NFPA codes and the International Building Code to examine compliance. The performance-based analysis consists of two different fire scenarios that were examined. The goal was to show that the building met safety criteria and does not pose undue risk to occupants. This report contains a life safety analysis of the fire protection systems of a chosen project building. The building examined is the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, located on the University of California Davis campus. The building was constructed in 2002 where the first performance occurred in October 2002. The State of Georgia modifies the International Building Code through State amendments, to require a fire resistance rating between residential occupancies and all other occupancies. This fire and life safety analysis report will substantiate the necessity for the barrier in a mixed-use hotel occupancy. The first-half of the report addresses the prescriptive-based code requirements, reporting a compliant design was presented. Then the performance portions primary objective was established, maintain a tenable environment for egressing guest room occupants. The primary fire safety goal is to provide building occupants with an environment that is tenable and allows for safe egress in the event of a fire, and reduce the likelihood of any catastrophic fire event. The purpose of this report is to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the fire protection and life safety design of a warehouse building that serves a large construction project. The building was recently constructed and completed in 2013 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to serve as a center for education of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Biblical principles for daily life. More than 300 congregations throughout Georgia and the Carolinas will use the Assembly Hall for their semi-annual assemblies and conventions, with an estimated annual attendance of 190,000 per year. Kennedy Library on the Cal Poly campus. The prescriptive analysis of the Library is based on the 2010 California Building- the analysis considers the building a new building and will not consider the building provision for existing buildings as permitted by Chapter 34 of the CBC.
