The logistics industry is among the world’s largest and most essential. Specifically, trucking is a massive component of the modern logistics system. In 2012, truck transportation carried 68% of all freight tonnage in the U.S. However, trucking currently faces significant problems with efficiency and sustainability. Of all miles driven by trucks yearly in the U.S., 25% are driven with empty loads and 36% are driven with underutilized loads. The problem of creating a compact refrigeration zone for absorbers with tubular-lattice nozzles made of pipes with spiral turbulators is discussed. Research has been carried out on the influence of the groove depth h/D and α/αгл of the step of their placement t/D on the degree of heat transfer intensification α/αо in the transition region of the gas-liquid flow. In the paper, the mathematical models of the new magnetoelastic sensor for measuring power and vibration parameters are developed taking into account the aggregation or scattering of the parameters of electromagnetic chains and the characteristics of the magnetization curve of the magnetic conductor material. The analysis of the generated mathematical models and graphs based on them showed that the magnetic chain in which the coils are assembled does not take into account the nonlinearity of the magnetization curve of the magnetic conductive material (electrotechnical steel), the result is 12 ÷ 15% of the experimental results. Theoretical estimates were made and significant factors of dissolution of ozone-containing gases in water during bubbling in tanks were determined. The expediency of using microbubbles for more efficient saturation of water and aqueous solutions with ozone and generation of ozone with maximum concentration is shown. It is shown that when bubbling gas in water, including ozone-containing gas, the most important indicator is the volume gas content, which determines the ratio of the volume of the gas phase to the volume of the gas-liquid mixture in the contact apparatus. The problems of improving of methods for determination of the total thermal resistance of textile materials are considered. A comparative analysis of the applied methods based on stationary and non-stationary heat exchange is performed. A higher accuracy of non-stationary methods based on measuring the cooling time of a heat cell with subsequent determination of the cooling rate and the total thermal resistance of the material under study is noted. The problems of synthesis of control systems for multidimensional dynamic objects in the conditions of parametric uncertainty which are based on invariance theory are considered. When constructing stable synthesis algorithms, a recurrent method for determining pseudo-solutions of linear algebraic systems of equations is used. Computational algorithms for the solution based on singular matrix expansions are given. These computational procedures allow us to regularize the problem of synthesis of the considered algorithms for the synthesis of control systems for multidimensional dynamic objects under conditions of parametric uncertainty and improve the quality indicators of control processes.

Health issues related to gold mining cannot be underestimated. Gold mining produce acid mine drainage (AMD), which in turn releases heavy metals into the nearby environment, hence causing environmental pollution. Adaptive task allocation is used in many human-machine systems and has been proven to improve operators’ monitoring and/or performance with automated systems. However, there is little knowledge surrounding the benefits of adaptive task allocation in automated vehicles. In this study, participants were presented with media depicting driving scenarios of both low and high workload at two levels of automation. In 2017, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that Americans generated over 268 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW). The majority (52%) of this waste ends up in landfills, which are the third largest source of anthropogenic methane emissions. Our recommendations are made with consideration to existing manufacturing processes and demonstrate how using an AGV would be a net positive investment for the company. By first examining the current operating costs, a three-tiered proposal is tailored based on increasing investment cost. A key complaint of logistics managers is the lack of knowledge when developing routes for vehicles attempting to navigate through areas which may be flooded. Bulge effect is the out-of-plane displacement of a panel of a corrugated fiberboard box from its original position. This bulge effect often is the result of excessive weight being placed on a box that rests at the bottom of a palletized load. Panels that are out-of-plane reduce the stacking strength of the box and can result in damage to products inside the containers.
