Electrochemical Determination Of Hg(Ii) At Gold Nanoparticles@Carbonaceous Microspheres Modified Electrode, Tian-Yu Qiu, Ming-Chun Wang, Xian-Feng Du, Tian-Jia Jiang, Xing-Jiu Huang

The gold nanoparticles@carbonaceous microspheres (Au@CMSs) and  Au@CMSs modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) were prepared. The Au@CMSs modified  GCE was further examined for possible sensitive detection of mercury ions (Hg(II)) in an aqueous solution by square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). The excellent performance was found in the stripping analysis of Hg(II) in 0.1 mol•L-1 NaAc-HAc(pH=5.0) with a sensitivity of 25.863 A•(mol•L-1)-1 and a detection limit of 3.69×10-8 mol•L-1 based on the 3σ method.

A novel electrochemical platform for the high sensitivity detection of riboflavin was constructed by Au nanoparticles/polydopamine/carbon nanotubes (Au-PDA-MWCNTs) nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode. The Au-PDA-MWCNTs nanocomposite was synthesized by in situ reduction method. The characteristics of the as-prepared Au-PDA-MWCNTs nanocomposite modified electrodes were investigated by using UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) were used to study the electrochemical behavior of riboflavin (RF) at Au-PDA-MWCNTs nanocomposite modified electrodes. The electrochemical intercalation and surface morphology of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) electrode in 2 mol⋅L-1 HClO4 were studied by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Porous nano-silicon (Si) was prepared by acid etching Al-Si alloy powder method, and used as an active material for fabricating a grapene/porous nano-Si electrode. The results of SEM and TEM measurements indicated that porous nano-Si powder was uniformly mixed with graphene by emulsification dispersion-ultrasonication method. As an anode for lithium ion battery, the graphene/porous nano-Si electrode presented relatively high performance in 1 mol•L-1LiPF6/EC:DMC = 1:1(by volume) + 1.5% (by mass) VC solution. The adsorption/oxidation of CO on the 55 nm [email protected] nm Pt nanoparticles electrode in both potentiodynamic and potentiostatic modes were investigated by surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy in a thin layer electrochemical flow cell under controlled mass transport, with the aim of clarifying the origin CO oxidation at lower electrode potentials (in current pre-wave region of corresponding cyclic voltammograms). The Ru-Ir-Sn metal oxide anodes coated on titanium (Ti/Ru-Ir-Sn) were prepared by thermal decomposition. The effects of amounts of carbon naotubes (CNTs) on anodic properties were studied by TGA, SEM, EDS, cyclic voltammetry, EIS, polarization measurements and accelerated life test. The thermogravimetric analysis and EDS spectrum data showed that the high temperature oxidation decomposition of CNTs did not take place under the condition of the sintering temperature of 470 ℃, and the CNTS still existed in the anode coating in an element form. Porous Co3O4 Hollow Nanospheres Cathode Catalyst For High-Capacity And Long-Cycle Li-Air Batteries, Tong Liu, Na Li, Qing-Chao Liu, Xin-Bo Zhang

In this paper, a high specific surface area of porous Co3O4 hollow nanospheres was successfully synthesized via hydrothermal carbonization at 140 °C, followed by calcination using cobalt nitrate hexahydrate (Co(NO3)2·6H2O), hexamethylenetetramine (HMT), sucrose, and sodium citrate (Na3C6H5O7). The porous Co3O4 hollow nanospheres consisted of nanoparticles with high specific surface area of mesoporous structure, and could provide active reaction sites for OER and ORR. When used as lithium-air battery cathode catalyst, the Co3O4/Super P (SP) electrode exhibited excellent cycle performance, resulting in high capacity and long life of lithium-air batteries.

A Novel Nitrite Sensing Electrode Based On Au/Fe3O4/Chitosan Nanocomposite, Ying Dong, Yong Wang, Huan-Huan Xing, Jian-Ying Qu

A novel nitrite sensing electrode based on gold nanoparticles and iron oxides (Fe3O4) magnetic nanoparticles was fabricated with chitosan as the protective film on glassy carbon matrix. Experiment results showed that the sensing electrode exhibited good electrocatalytic activity toward oxidation of nitrite, and the oxidation peak current increased linearly with the concentration of nitrite varying from 5.0×10-6 to 2.0×10-3 mol·L-1 (R=0.9996) with a detection limit of 7.1×10-7 mol·L-1 (S/N=3). The sensing electrode exhibited good sensitivity, selectivity and repeatability.

A novel DNA-based electrochemical sensor has been successfully constructed for sensitive detection of hydroxyl radical (·OH) based on the silver-enhanced gold nanoparticle label. Thiolated DNA1 was firstly immobilized on the gold electrode through Au—S bonds. The ·OH generated from Fenton reaction could induce serious oxidative damage of the DNA1 layer on the electrode surface. Then DNA2-functionalized gold nanoparticles (DNA2-AuNPs) were linked on the electrode through the hybridization between DNA2 and undamaged DNA1. The selenium (Se) templates and hollow platinum (Pthollow) nanospheres with different sizes were controllably synthesized by adjusting the concentration of sodium dodecyl sulphonate (SDSN) (CSDSN, μmol·L-1) which was used as a surfactant. A new amperometric biosensor based on Nafion, thionine and latinum nanowires was developed for sensitive detection of glucose. Initially, positively charged thionine molecules were immobilized onto the surface of Nafion-modified glassy carbon electrode through the interaction between -SO3- and -NH3+, and glucose oxidase was then assembled on the modified electrode by using platinum nanowires as the cross-linkage. The preparation process was characterized by using cyclic voltammetry. Glucose oxidase (GOx)-gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) composite was synthesized by the one-pot enzyme reaction in the mixture solution of NaAuCl4, GOx and glucose, and a Nafion/GOx-AuNPs/glassy carbon electrode was fabricated by the cast-coating method to examine the direct electrochemistry of GOx and the biosensing performance on this electrode. Such a GOx-AuNPs composite showed good direct-electrochemistry activity and bioactivity of GOx, probably because the enzyme-mediated AuNPs are close to the redox active centers of GOx. Bimetallic PtRu nanotubes array electrodes (NTAEs) with varied Pt to Ru atomic ratios have been prepared by electrochemical codeposition in 3-aminopropyltri-methoxysilane modified porous anodic alumina (PAA) membranes. The structure and morphology of the catalysts were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. Electrochemical results showed that the NTAEs with varied atomic ratios could be achieved by controlling the precursor concentration for deposition. The novel modified electrode was fabricated by electropolymerizing alizarin red onto the surface of multi-walled carbon nanotubes on glassy carbon electrode surface, which exhibited good electrocatalytic activity for folic acid. The experimental results showed that the reduction peak current of folic acid at -0.63 V was linear to its concentration over the range of 1.25×10-6 ~ 4.00×10-5 mol·L-1 in the optimized experimental conditions (R = 0.9985). The nano-cubic Pt modified by tin (Sn) was synthesized and used to investigate the role of this adatom played in the ethanol oxidation. The onset potential of ethanol oxidation was significantly shifted negatively which can be forward about 300 mV when the coverage of Sn (θSn)was 0.9. The electrtochemical in situ FTIR result demonstrated that the amount of CO2 increased first, and then decreased with θSn increased, and reached the maximun when θSn was 0.38. Graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by modified Hummers method. Using the GO solution as "ink", Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) and GO were transferred to the surface of ITO substrate modified with (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane (APTES/ITO) in a sequence. The transferred AuNPs and GO could form a uniform and dense composite pattern which was characterized by FE-SEM and AFM. Moreover, using the APTES/ITO substrate surface potential as zero, the sequences of the surface potential were APTES>GO>Au.

By measuring cyclic voltammograms and polarization curves, the inhibition effects of benzimidazole (BMIH) concentration in acetonitrile system on a nickel electrode were investigated. It was found that the oxidation and the corrosion potentials shifted positively, and the oxidation current decreased with the increase in the concentration of BIMH. Potential dependent adsorption and film formation behavior of BMIH on the nickel electrode were investigated by in situ SERS spectroscopy. With the potential moving from negative direction to positive direction, the complexes made of BIMH and nickel were formed, preventing the nickel electrode from corrosion. Silver-based catalysts have been extensively investigated as the platinum substituted catalysts due to their high catalytic efficiency, low cost and long-term durability. In this study, the surfactant-free silver nanoparticles supported on graphene quantum dots were synthesized through a facile approach without addition of any other protecting ligands and reducing agents. The “surface-clean” silver nanoparticles had remarkable electrocatalytic performance towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) with the most efficient four-electron transfer process. Room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) is used as a soft-template to organize a meso-macroporous material constructed by self-assembled giant gold nanoparticles which are capped by L-cysteine. First, L-cysteine capped gold nanoparticles can self-assembly to form nanowires and sub-micrometer spherical giant particles due to the static interaction and/or the condensation reaction between the carboxyl and amino groups at the outer terminal of the ligand. By utilizing in-situ AFM force curve measurements systematic investigations have been carried out on Au(111)-ionic liquid interface in BMIPF6 and OMIPF6 of imidazolium-based ionic liquids with different lengths of alkyl side chains. The temperature dependence of the number, thickness and stability of the layered structures of each system are studied by performing AFM force curve measurements at potentials far negative of the PZC. A label-free electrochemical sensing electrode for highly sensitive detection of adenosine was constructed based on the signal amplification of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The change in the interfacial feature of the modified electrode was characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Using [Ru(NH3)6]3+ as the signaling moiety, adenosine with concentrations as low as 0.027 nmol·L-1 can be selectively detected. Additionally, the fabrication of this present aptasensor was simple, time-saving and cost-effective. Compared with other reported aptasensors, the proposed aptasensor had advantages of excellent sensitivity, selectivity and simplicity, which plays a potential role in development of aptasensor.

Semiconductor photoelectrochemical hydrogen production is an important and promising technology for utilizing solar energy. The efficiency of hydrogen production depends on the efficiencies of separation and transport of photo-generated carriers. A deep understanding of the behavior of these processes has guiding significance for designing efficient solar hydrogen device. photoelectrochemical and transient absorption spectroscopy methods are powerful tool for studying the microscopic dynamics and mechanism of photocatalytic reaction. This review describes the part of the latest results of the author regarding the semiconductor photoelectrochemical hydrogen production obtained by these methods,and the problems and future research priorities in this field are proposed.
