Characteristics Study Of Carbon Fibre Material For Bioapps Romicp® Foot Prosthesis / Shen Wenhui, Shen Wenhui
Characteristics Study Of Carbon Fibre Material For Bioapps Romicp® Foot Prosthesis / Shen Wenhui, Shen Wenhui
Student Works (2020-2029)
In this research project, to study the characteristics of materials used in BioApps RoMicP® Foot Prothesis and improve its performance in diferrent parts which are in different positions and can withstand different types of force. The material studies is the composite including Onyx and Carbon Fiber(CF) which were utilized in markforged Mark-Two 3-D printer to produce a light foot prosthesis with high performance and low cost. To investigate the mechanical properties, samples with different CF contribution way and with different components of carbon fiber were produced. Three types of mechanical test involving tensile test, compression test and 3-point bending test …
Surface Modification Of Biomaterials To Reduce Polyethylene Wear In Metal-Polymer Contact / Tan Mean Yee, Tan Mean Yee
Surface Modification Of Biomaterials To Reduce Polyethylene Wear In Metal-Polymer Contact / Tan Mean Yee, Tan Mean Yee
Student Works (2020-2029)
This research focus on studying different surface modification (Texturing and DLC coating) on the metal part of TKR (Total knee replacement) in improving UHMWPE (Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) wear. TKR was widely being used to relieve knee pain due to osteoarthritis and further restore knee function of patients. Generally, TKR consists of metal femoral component, metal tibial component, and UHMWPE tibial insert. TKR will fail due to various factors over time, however, this study will be focusing on failure cause by loosening. Loosening failure of TKR was mainly caused by wear debris generated during articulation motion, where UHMWPE wear was …
Biomechanical Investigation Of Individual With Over-Pronation And Over-Supination Foot During Walking, Ghani Nur Saibah
Biomechanical Investigation Of Individual With Over-Pronation And Over-Supination Foot During Walking, Ghani Nur Saibah
Student Works (2020-2029)
Over-pronation and over-supination foot conditions are foot deformity that can lead to unstable ankle and subtalar joint during walking. They are define as condition where the foot roll in and out excessively from its neutral line and can lead to misalignment of the foot and leg in human in which can create abnormal gait cycle. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to analyze the foot-ankle joint biomechanical behavior including the range of motion, joint moment, joint power and GRF in a complete gait cycle for all subjects in this study and to compare the foot-ankle biomechanical behavior between normal …
Electromechanics Modelling Of The Effects Of Myocardial Infarction On Left Ventricular Remodelling, Chin Neng Leong
Electromechanics Modelling Of The Effects Of Myocardial Infarction On Left Ventricular Remodelling, Chin Neng Leong
Student Works (2020-2029)
Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the diseases with the highest mortality rate. Following MI, myocardium experiences abrupt changes in its loading condition due to the presence of infarct. In response to such changes, myocytes undergo adaptations to maintain homeostasis. However, maladaptation can happen and lead to remodelling, in which the left ventricle (LV) gradually loses its function and eventually turns into heart failure. Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying LV remodelling are still poorly understood. In this study, a generic LV model was developed, incorporating realistic fibre orientation and excitable contracting myocardium. It was demonstrated that the developed model is capable …
Kinematic Analysis Of Forehand Drop Shot And Long Shot Services In Table Tennis, Ibrahim Norzuria
Kinematic Analysis Of Forehand Drop Shot And Long Shot Services In Table Tennis, Ibrahim Norzuria
Student Works (2020-2029)
Table tennis is one of the most widely played sports in the world. A frequent hand movement is compulsory to execute stroke than other limbs, especially the projection of racket and ball speeds, which can help to improve players’ performance. Until now, research on table tennis serving is limited. Service was assumed important in table tennis because the effective serve may allow the serving player to have advantage and control over the game. The 3D dynamic analysis is the appropriate method to analyze a sport activity such as table tennis. Therefore, the aim of research was to determine the kinematic involved …
Study Of Carbon Black-Epoxy Based Fat Tissue Phantom And Its Dielectric Properties., Hatem Mohamed Al-Gabroun
Study Of Carbon Black-Epoxy Based Fat Tissue Phantom And Its Dielectric Properties., Hatem Mohamed Al-Gabroun
Student Works (2010-2019)
Microwave imaging techniques for medical applications have been reported in the literature for many years. However, the progress in imaging algorithms, numerical techniques, microwave hardware and computational speed has renewed the interest in this field. Breast cancer detection is particularly attractive from a microwave imaging perspective, the major reason referred to the potentially high dielectric contrast between cancerous tissues and normal breast tissues depending on water content. Low water tissues tend to be low permittivity as fat, whilst high water content tissues tend to be high permittivity as cancerous tissues. All of that increased the need for effective phantoms that …
