In this research, we developed appropriate algorithms for the formation of the optimal structural composition of production - technological modules (PTM) based on the automation of the processes of determining and ensuring the functional-parametric compatibility (FPC) of their components. These algorithms are based on the developed mathematical models on the basis of the use of analytical methods for implementing the interconnection between the main components of the PTM.

Industrial robots are being used more and more for manufacturing applications that require accuracy beyond what can be obtained from joint measurement. While offline calibration techniques such as volumetric error compensation can be used to correct robot kinematic error, these methods are unable to compensate for robot deformations caused by changing tool loads during the manufacturing operation. Quantitative assessment of the adhesion strength of ceramic hard coatings on substrates is a subject of great technological importance as well as current scientific relevance. Achievement of reliable and quantitative measurements of interfacial strength has proven difficult over the past two decades. In this dissertation, how the deformation and fracture behavior of ceramic/metal/substrate interfacial regions under shear and tensile loading is influenced by the structure and chemical composition of the interfacial region were observed and discussed. This case study showcases the use of statistical tools to develop an objective Squeak and Rattle (S&R) measurement and detection test for End Of Line (EOL) sign off in an automotive manufacturing environment. Audio Induced S&R is an unwanted vibration within the vehicle caused by the sound system, impacting on customer perception of vehicle quality. Based on the transformation acoustics methodology, the design principle for achieving an arbitrary shape magnifying lens (ASML) is proposed. Contrary to the previous works, the presented ASML is competent of realizing far-field high resolution images and breaking the diffraction limit, regardless of the position of the utilized sources. Therefore, objects locating within the designed ASML can be properly resolved in the far-field region. Self-healing asphalt, which is designed to achieve autonomic damage repair in asphalt pavement, offers a great life-extension prospect and therefore not only reduces pavement maintenance costs but also saves energy and reduces CO2 emissions. The combined asphalt self-healing system, incorporating both encapsulated rejuvenator and induction heating, can heal cracks with melted binder and aged binder rejuvenation, and the synergistic effect of the two technologies shows significant advantages in healing efficiency over the single self-healing method. For the purpose of evaluating the performance of the Al-Jadriya water project, water samples were taken before and after the sedimentation basins to find out the efficiency of the sedimentation ponds, as well as water samples were taken before and after the filtration basins, to know the efficiency of the filtration basins by conducting the following tests on them (Turbidity, TDS, TC, pH) to ensure that these ponds work properly. The treated wastewater by the industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), commonly named (INGECO) in Al-Doura refinery, suffers from highly sulfate concentrations that exceed the EPA specified limits of 250 mg/L. Laboratory water quality historical data have been reviewed and analyzed to determine the annual rate, maximum, and peak sulfate concentrations, which were found to be 360 mg/L, 425 mg/L, and 550 mg/L, respectively. A field inspection was conducted to identify the reasons for the high sulfate concentrations in the wastewater of most refinery process units. Acoustic waves are widely used in structural health monitoring (SHM) for detecting fatigue cracking. The strain energy released when a fatigue crack advances has the effect of exciting acoustic waves, which travel through the structures and are picked up by the sensors. Piezoelectric wafer active sensors (PWAS) can effectively sense acoustic waves due to fatigue-crack growth. The effect of a self-pulsing non-equilibrium plasma discharge on piezoelectric PVDF nanofiber membrane was investigated. The plasma discharge was generated in air with a DC power source, with a discharge current of 0.012 mA, a nominal interelectrode separation of 1 mm, and discharge voltage of ~970 V. In a continuous fabrication process, the electrospinning method was used to generate thin nanofiber membrane with a flow rate of 0.7–1 mL h−1 and 25–27 kV voltage to obtain the nanofiber with high sensitivity and a higher degree of alignment and uniformity over a larger area. In this thesis, the design and optimization process of a novel soft intelligent modular pad (IntelliPad) for the purpose of pressure injury prevention is presented. The structure of the IntelliPad consists of multiple individual multi-chamber soft pneumatic-driven actuators that use pressurized air and vacuum. Each actuator is able to provide both vertical and horizontal motions that can be controlled independently. An analytical modeling approach using multiple cantilever beams and virtual springs connected in a closed formed structure was developed to analyze the mechanical performance of the actuator. Aligning with the global movements towards mitigating CO2 emissions and regulations to phase out HFC refrigerants, many low GWP refrigerants are being tested and proposed as fourth-generation refrigerants. R1234yf is a refrigerant with a GWP of less than one and has a high potential to replace R134a, which has a GWP of 1300, and it is the most commonly used refrigerant in domestic refrigerators. In this study, an energy performance evaluation and a life cycle climate performance assessment for R1234yf were conducted and compared to those of R134a based on a baseline domestic defrost refrigerators. This report provides a comparison between the 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation (FBC-EC) and 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), based on approved 2018 to 2021 IECC changes included in the International Code Council's Complete Revision History to the 2021 I-Codes document. The first part of this study involved developing code change listings based on the Revision History document that identify changes that have potential energy and cost impacts. This report provides comparison of the commercial provisions of the 7th Edition (2020) Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation (FBC-EC) with the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHREA 90.1-2019. The first part developed code changes listing identifying energy and construction cost impacts. The second part analyzed energy and energy cost savings potential of the 2021 IECC and the 2019 ASHRAE 90.1 compared to the 2020 FBC-EC using prototype buildings energy model and simulation. Macroscopic mechanical and failure properties of fiber-reinforced composites depend strongly on the properties of the fiber-matrix interface. For example, transverse cracking behavior and interlaminar shear strength of composites can be highly sensitive to the characteristics of the fiber-matrix interface. Despite its importance, experimental characterization of the mechanical behavior of the fiber-matrix interface under normal loading conditions has been limited. Wind energy is considered one of the major sources of renewable energy. Nowadays, wind turbine blades could exceed 100 m to maximize the generated power and minimize produced energy cost. Minimally invasive procedures are becoming increasingly more common in surgery. However, the biomaterials capable of delivering biomimetic, three-dimensional (3D) functional tissues in a minimally invasive manner and exhibiting ordered structures after delivery are lacking. Herein, we reported the fabrication of gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA)-coated, 3D expanded nanofiber scaffolds and their potential applications in minimally invasive delivery of 3D functional tissue constructs with ordered structures and clinically appropriate sizes (4 cm × 2 cm × 1.5 mm). The impact on the mechanical properties of an epoxy resin reinforced with pristine graphene nanoplatelets (GNP), highly concentrated graphene oxide (GO), and functionalized graphene oxide (FGO) has been investigated in this study. Molecular dynamics (MD) using a reactive force field (ReaxFF) has been employed in predicting the effective mechanical properties of the interphase region of the three nanocomposite materials at the nanoscale level. A systematic computational approach to simulate the reinforcing nanoplatelets and probe their influence on the mechanical properties of the epoxy matrix is established.
