Development Of Hybrid Self-Cleaning Coating Using Lanthanide-Based Light Spectral Response Material To Enhance Photovoltaic (Pv) Panel Efficiency In Operational Environment, Khishn Kumar Kandiah

Student Works (2020-2029)

The efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) panels is crucial, as solar energy has become an alternative energy source that meets today’s global energy demands. Hence, dust accumulation and spectral mismatch have major effects on the efficiency of PV panels, around 20 %, but in extreme situations, this can reach up to 64 %. Therefore, initiatives are underway to address these issues, including PV cooling systems, conventional cleaning methods, and various coatings to enhance efficiency. In this work, a novel coating is fabricated with high transparency, excellent self-cleaning properties, and good spectral-modifying properties. Two types of powder composites are employed in this …

Epitaxial Growth Of Semi-Polar (11-22) Gallium Nitride For Uv Photosensing Application, Abdullah Haaziq Ahmad Makinudin

Student Works (2020-2029)

Semi-polar (11-22) gallium nitride (GaN) epilayers have attracted numerous interests in GaN based technology as it possess significant advantages over its polar (c-plane) counterparts such as low to none spontaneous and piezoelectric polarization which is known to impair the device performance. However, growth along semi-polar (11-22) orientation has been known to exhibit numerous defect densities such as dislocations and stacking faults (SFs). In order to acquire high quality semi-polar (11-22) GaN epilayers, various growth optimizations must be employed. In this work, the semi-polar (11-22) GaN epilayers were grown on planar m-plane sapphire substrate with the use of a 2-inch capability …

Schottky And Poole-Frenkel Conduction Mechanisms In Zron/Sic System, Lusus Vanessa

Student Works (2020-2029)

In this work, the conduction mechanisms of Schottky Emission (SE) and Poole–Frenkel (PF) Emission for the ZrON/SiC system with a temperature range between 400 oC to 900 oC were analyzed. Understanding of the conduction charge mechanisms will help to estimate leakage characteristics of the ZrON/SiC system. Based on the J-E plot measured at different temperatures for 15 minutes, the obtained r2 was ranged between 0.90–0.98, which confirmed the data obtained complied with the standard SE model. Furthermore, the data plotted from the Effective Barrier Height Extracted from the SE plot showed the highest values of

Morphological, Structural, And Optical Studies Of Undoped And Doped-Zno Nanostructure., Ramin Yousefi

Student Works (2010-2019)

Research concerning one-dimensional nanomaterials has grown tremendously ever since carbon nanotubes were discovered by Iijima (1991), silicon nanowires were grown by Lieber's group (1998), and ZnO nanowires and nanobelts were found by Wang's group from Georgia Tech (Pan et al., 2001). Such researches on one-dimensional structures have been one of the most important branches of science during recent decades. We can now observe the impact of these studies on the technology of one-dimensional materials and also the advanced prospect of developing new technologies. Based on this motivation, this thesis attempts to investigate some unknown properties of ZnO nanostructures as …

Alternatively, dry etching method was conducted via Inductively Coupled …

Oxidation-Induced Stacking Fault In (100) And (111) Silicon Wafers, Mei Keat Liang Jan 2002

Oxidation-Induced Stacking Fault In (100) And (111) Silicon Wafers, Mei Keat Liang

Student Works (2000-2009)

Oxidation-induced stacking fault (OISF) dimension and density change on (100) and (111) wafers, as a result of repeated preferential etching were studied using AFM. optical microscope and angular polishing techniques. Density on (100) and (111) wafers is independent of surface removal up to 3.0µm. This indicates the single layer nature of OISF formed from the sand blasted wafer. Besides having higher density, OISFs from (100) wafer were longer than OISF from (111) wafer. OISF width increases linearly with surface removal however the length does not change significantly with surface removal. ln the OISF normal depth studies using angular polishing technique, …
