Electro-Magnetic Responsive Ni0.5zn0.5fe2o4 Nano-Particle Composite, Jaiprakash Kanagaraj Jan 2018

Electro-Magnetic Responsive Ni0.5zn0.5fe2o4 Nano-Particle Composite, Jaiprakash Kanagaraj

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study is to simulate and synthesize a Radar (or Radiation) Absorbent Material (RAM) by using polymers and nickel zinc ferrite (Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4) magnetic nanoparticles. There is an ardent desire in military, space and electronics for lighter, faster, cheaper and widespread bandwidth providing RAM materials. Electromagnetic property such as magnetic permeability and electric permittivity play a major in controlling the radiation. The appropriate combination of permeability and permittivity properties is acquired for the synthesis of RAM providing wide-ranging bandwidth. The apt property is achieved by rule of mixture, mixing of particular composition of epoxy polymer having low permeability …

Environmentally Friendly Synthesis Of Transition Metalorganic Hybrid Nanocomposites, Aubrey N. Penn Apr 2017

Environmentally Friendly Synthesis Of Transition Metalorganic Hybrid Nanocomposites, Aubrey N. Penn

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Research on metal nanoparticles (MNPs) synthesis and their applications for optoelectronic devices has been a recent interest in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology Photovoltaics are one of such systems in which MNPs have shown to be quite useful, due to unique physical, optical, magnetic, and electronic properties, including the metal nanoparticles synthesized in this research.

Owing to the challenges with the most common physical and chemical methods of preparing MNPs, including the use of high temperatures, toxic reducing agents, and environmentally hazardous organic solvents, there is a critical need for a benign synthesis procedure for MNPs. In this work, …

Synthesis, Characteristics, And Material Properties Dataset Of Bi:Dyig-Oxide Garnet-Type Nanocomposites, M Nur-E-Alam, Mikhail Vasiliev, Kamal Alameh

Research outputs 2014 to 2021

The fabrication, annealing crystallization processes, and material properties of (Bi,Dy)3(Fe,Ga)5O12:Bi2O3 nanocomposites are investigated and summarized. The stoichiometry of these nanocomposites is optimized for magnetooptic applications using the approach of stoichiometry adjustment (implemented by means of varying RF power densities applied to the sputtering targets used to prepare the nanocomposite thin films). The crystallization processes for all developed batches of as-deposited films are carried out by annealing runs at different temperatures and process durations. This paper describes the methodologies used to optimize the compositions (by calculating the volumetric fractions of excess bismuth oxide to be mixed with the garnet-stoichiometry species during …

Multiscale Study Of Batio3 Nanostructures And Nanocomposites, Lydie Louis Louis Aug 2013

Multiscale Study Of Batio3 Nanostructures And Nanocomposites, Lydie Louis Louis

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Advancements in integrated nanoelectronics will continue to require the use of unique materials or systems of materials with diverse functionalities in increasingly confined spaces.

Hence, research on finite-dimensional systems strive to unearth and expand the knowledge of fundamental physical properties in certain key materials which exhibit numerous concurrent and exploitable functions.

Correspondingly, ferroelectric nanostructures, which particularly display a plethora of complex phenomena, prevalent in countless fields of research, are noteworthy candidates. Presently, however, the assimilation of zero-(0D) and one-dimensional (1D) ferroelectric into micro- or nano-electronics has been lagging, in part due to a lack of applied and fundamental studies but …
