Condition Monitoring Of Induction Motor Using Motor Current Signature Analysis, Francis Ikechukwu Obianke, Joseph Okhaifoh, Benjamin Akinloye
Al-Bahir
Induction machines serve as the cornerstone and driving force of modern manufacturing and production systems. This research aims to monitor and analyse the operating performance of induction motors using motor current signature analysis (MCSA). MCSA is employed to process the current signal of a motor into a frequency spectrum, known as the current signature by applying the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm. The underlying principle is that vibration generated in a motor is closely related to the changes of the magnetic field density, and the induced voltage varies with the stator current.

Inductive Transducers For Measuring Vibrations, S.F. Amirov, A.Kh. Sulliev, A.A. Shoimkulov
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
A new design of an induction transducer has been developed for measuring linear and torsional vibrations in different directions with high sensitivity by constructing an inertial element consisting of four mutually perpendicular sectors and making the masses of two adjacent sectors different from the masses of the other two adjacent sectors. By constructing an inertial element in the form of a sector with two mutually diametric magnetic cores and different masses, and placing it between the horizontal and vertical axes, a design of an induction transducer has been developed that highly sensitively measures linear and torsional vibrations in different directions, …

Journal of Engineering Research
In this paper, an innovative frequency-tunable rectangular patch antenna is presented, featuring interlaced circular and U-shaped narrow slots, combined with a rectangular-shaped defected ground structure (DGS). This design is specifically developed to produce radiation patterns similar to those of traditional dipole antennas. The integration of the rectangular DGS with three RF varactor diodes, along with two equivalent microstrip conductors, enables a tunable operating frequency band that ranges from 1.08 GHz to 1.7 GHz, achieving a total bandwidth of 0.62 GHz. The DC biasing network connected to the three RF varactor diodes is utilized to finely tune and adjust the resonance …

Enhancing Radiation Performance Of A 0.18 Μm Cmos 60 Ghz On-Chip Double-Slot Vivaldi Antenna, Elsayed Ibrahim Elsaidy Mr., Amr H. Hussein Prof.Dr., Mustafa M. Abd Elnaby Prof. Dr.
Journal of Engineering Research
This paper presents the design of a 60-GHz double-slot Vivaldi antenna (DSVA) using standard 0.18 µm CMOS technology. The antenna's two slots are uniformly excited in both amplitude and phase by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) power divider. A double-Y balun feeding structure is also used to transition from the CPW to the coplanar slot line (CPS). Two techniques are investigated to enhance the antenna's radiation characteristics. The first technique involves incorporating equal corrugations along the edges of the flare aperture, resulting in a significant gain enhancement of 0.9 dBi and an improvement in radiation efficiency by 7%. The second technique …

Side Lobe Level Reduction And Array Thinning Of Concentric Circular Antenna Arrays, Alzahraa H. Nosier, Ahmed M. Elkhawaga, Mohamed E. Nasr, Nessim M. Mahmoud, Amr H. Hussein
Mansoura Engineering Journal
This paper presents a new beamforming technique based on the hybrid combination of the convolution algorithm (CA) and the genetic algorithm (GA) for reducing side lobe level (SLL) and array thinning of concentric circular antenna arrays (CCAA), which is denoted as C/GA technique. The CA determines the excitations of the elements, while the GA optimizes the radii of the circular arrays to adjust the half-power beamwidth (HPBW). For CCAA consisting of uniform feeding circular arrays, we assume that there are excitation coefficients that are distributed symmetrically around the array center and arranged in a vector. The excitation vector is convolved …

Optical relaying is the best technique to implement free-space optical (FSO) communications as a terrestrial platform. However, atmospheric turbulence (AT) limits the optical-propagation path length. In this study, the implementation of some optical amplifiers (OAs) in cascaded configuration, namely, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, semiconductor OAs, and Raman amplifiers (RAs), are investigated through simulation. This study aims to search for the maximum link distance of an optical propagation and enhance the FSO performance caused by each configuration of OAs. The optical relaying network consists of three nodes, with each node designed with a space of several kilometers under the influence of AT. …

Gamma Ray Emissions From Binary Pulsar Systems, Tony A. Hall, Andrew T. Sustich
Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science
A method is developed for estimating the gamma ray flux impinging upon the earth from production in binary pulsar systems. We calculate production of the 6.13 MeV gamma ray line characteristic of 16O. These are produced by protons emitted by the pulsar interacting with 16O atoms at the surface of the companion. We examine different types of companion stars and estimate the gamma ray flux at the earth as a function of proton emission from the pulsar and distance from the earth. Prospects for detection from earth are discussed.
