Shielding Effectiveness (Se) Measurement For Maxair Waveguide Panel, Lossy Material Evaluation By Laptop Application, Xiao Li
Masters Theses
"The first part of the thesis presents the EM shielding effectiveness (SE) measurement of new kind of waveguide panel, MaxAir, which based on metal coating technology. SE Measurement tell the SE performance of MaxAir compared to the traditional metal waveguide panel. In terms of good features such as lower price, less weight, MaxAir could replace traditional waveguide panel in some applications by its SE results. There are two SE measurement methods are performed for MaxAir panel, both of them based on reverberation chamber. Measured SE for several MaxAir panel samples in different cell dimension and coating configuration. By the Measured …
Cable Discharge Events (Cde) -- A Modeling And Simulation Perspective, Viswa Pilla
Cable Discharge Events (Cde) -- A Modeling And Simulation Perspective, Viswa Pilla
Masters Theses
"Cable discharge events (CDE) typically occur when a charged cable is connected to an electronic device. Several CDE damages in Ethernet LAN and USB communication interface equipment are reported by the IC manufacturers. CDE differs from other types of ESD such as human body model (HBM), charged device model (CDM) and IEC 61000-4-2 mainly due to faster rise times, longer pulse widths and higher peak currents. Various factors such as cable geometries, charging and discharging mechanisms, and load conditions influence CDE. Several researchers have developed some measurement techniques to understand CDE waveforms. However, there is little information regarding its modeling …
Block Level Link Path Design And Multilayer Via Transition Model Assembly Using S-Parameters, Francesco De Paulis
Block Level Link Path Design And Multilayer Via Transition Model Assembly Using S-Parameters, Francesco De Paulis
Masters Theses
"In high-speed data communication systems the complexity of link path between transmitters and receivers present a challenge for designers to maintain an acceptable bit error rate. An approach is presented in this thesis to design the link path on a block-by-block basis. The unique advantage of this approach lies on the physics-based model of each block, which then relates performance to geometry and makes design improvement and optimization possible. A tool based on the manipulation of frequency domain data has been designed to help in the design and analysis process of fast communication systems. It accepts as inputs the frequency …

Inhibited Spontaneous Emission By Photonic Band Gaps In A Square Lattice Of Periodic Dielectric Medium, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi
Inhibited Spontaneous Emission By Photonic Band Gaps In A Square Lattice Of Periodic Dielectric Medium, Abdullah Al-Ghamdi
Masters Theses
The concepts of band theory for electrons can be employed to describe the behavior of electromagnetic waves propagating in two-dimensional, periodic dielectric structures. These two-dimensional, periodic structures can produce photonic band gaps in which the spontaneous emission by atoms embedded in the structure is prohibited and as a result the performance of many semiconductor devices can be enhanced. The calculations are based on finding the eigenvalues of the algebraic equation for the frequencies of electromagnetic waves moving in a square lattice composed of square dielectric rods with different dielectric constants.
