Piezoelectric polymer materials such as polyvinylidene fluoride exhibit beneficial properties for use in personal protective equipment (PPE) against viral contaminants and other foreign microparticles. The electrospinning process of this material allows for surface charge to develop over a controlled surface area. Kynar 761 at 10 wt% demonstrates increased surface charge after withstanding a flow of aerated NaCl particles from a TSI 8130 instrument. Utilizing voltage measurements from a Faraday bucket, 18 wt% Kynar 761 and MG-15 exhibit surface charge when undergoing an electrospinning process; however, Kynar MG-15 displays lower charge values than that of Kynar 761. The objective of the locomotion system was to design and implement the mechanical, electrical, and software related functions to ensure the LLAGV had the capability of maneuvering its surroundings. The LLAGV’s motors were represented in an open loop transfer function to utilize RPM feedback and a compensator when needed. The modeled compensator helped control the LLAGV’s speed and acceleration, enabling further control of the LLAGV. In order for an electrical network to be printed on a flat surface without changing the network’s input or output, it is important to consider if any wires will cross and if this problem can be avoided. If a circular network can be printed so that no wires cross, the network is said to be circular planar. In this paper, we identify a number of wiring patterns that make circular planarity impossible. We find exactly 3 wiring patterns using circular pairs with sets of two nodes, and we find exactly 78 wiring patterns using circular pairs with sets of three …

interferometry is used in many fields using all frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum and sound waves. In this study, data was collected from an FMCW radar is used at multiple heights above a flat surface on which sat a single retroreflector. These data were post-processed to discover the signal obtained from the target and then the phase form the radar at multiple locations was compared. Using the known geometry and measured phase, we find the interferometry is possible using a freerunning radar under certain geometric conditions.

Deep models have provided high accuracy for different applications such as person recognition, image segmentation, image captioning, scene description, and action recognition. In this dissertation, we study the deep learning models and their application in improving the performance and reliability of person recognition. This dissertation focuses on five aspects of person recognition: (1) multimodal person recognition, (2) quality-aware multi-sample person recognition, (3) text-independent speaker verification, (4) adversarial iris examples, and (5) morphed face images. Electroosmotic flow (EOF) has been widely used in various biochemical microfluidic applications, many of which use viscoelastic non-Newtonian fluid. This study numerically investigates the EOF of viscoelastic fluid through a 10:1 constriction microfluidic channel connecting two reservoirs on either side. The flow is modelled by the Oldroyd-B (OB) model coupled with the Poisson–Boltzmann model. EOF of polyacrylamide (PAA) solution is studied as a function of the PAA concentration and the applied electric field. In contrast to steady EOF of Newtonian fluid, the EOF of PAA solution becomes unstable when the applied electric field (PAA concentration) exceeds a critical value for …

Extremely low frequencies signals are waves between 3 to 30Hz and corresponding wavelengths between 10,000 to 100,000 kilometers. The specific signals used here are generated from lightning and are excited at frequencies around 8Hz, 14Hz, 20Hz. These are often called Schumann Resonance frequencies. Several stations have been built around the world for identifying ELF waves. Due to its potential to support high data rates at low latency with reasonable interference isolation because of signal blockage at these frequencies, millimeter-wave (mmWave) communications has emerged as a promising solution for next-generation wireless networks. This project proposes an optimization approach for day-ahead reactive power planning to ensure voltage security in transmission networks. The problem is formulated as a voltage-secure multi-period optimal reactive power dispatch (MP-ORPD) problem. The optimization approach searches for optimal set-points of dynamic and static reactive power (var) resources. Specifically, the output includes set-points for switching shunts, transformer taps, and voltage magnitudes at the regulated buses. The primary goal is to maximize the dynamic reactive power reserve of the system, by minimizing the reactive power supplied by synchronous generators. Metal 3-D printing has been relegated to high-cost proprietary high-resolution systems and low-resolution low-cost metal inert gas (MIG) systems. In order to provide a path to high-resolution, low-cost, metal 3-D printing, this manuscript proposes a new open source metal 3-D printer design based around a low-cost tungsten inert gas (TIG) welder coupled to a commercial open source self replicating rapid prototyper. Optimal printing parameters for the machine are acquired using a novel computational intelligence software. Renewable energy sources such as photo-voltaic and wind energy are integrating very rapidly in power systems. These energy-based systems typically adopt power-electronic interfaced inverters to connect to the grid. However, unlike traditional generators, these sources have low inertia, resulting in system stability issues, especially in microgrids where they are the primary sources. To mitigate the low-inertia effect, the inverters are modeled as virtual synchronous generators (VSG), and their control is designed. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the preferred modulation techniques for modern wireless communications networks, due to its high spectral efficiency and immunity to frequency selective channels. However, OFDM signals are known to suffer from a large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Variable renewable energy (VRE) integration creates additional costs, called integration costs. These costs have grown with VRE penetration, potentially increasing the total system costs delivered to customers (direct integration costs) and decreasing electricity generation revenue, discouraging investment by generators (indirect integration costs). In recent years, image super-resolution (SR) techniques based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) have achieved impressive attention from computer vision scholars and artificial intelligence (AI) companies. Due to the necessity of using the SR algorithms in real-world applications, designing an efficient and lightweight SR algorithm that improves the sharpness and visual quality of the SR results is a critical issue in real-time hardware implementation. สำหรับการจำแนกโรคอ้อยที่พบมากบนพันธุ์ขอนแก่น 3 ซึ่งเป็นพันธุ์อ้อยที่ได้รับความนิยมมากที่สุดในประเทศไทย จะให้ความสำคัญในการวิเคราะห์โรคที่ส่งผลรุนแรงต่อใบอ้อย เช่น โรคที่เกิดจากแบคทีเรีย เชื้อรา และแมลง จากการตรวจหาและระบุโรคที่เกิดขึ้นในอ้อยซึ่งต้องการผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่มีประสบการณ์และเวลา จึงมีแนวคิดในการสร้างระบบที่ช่วยในการจำแนกโรคอ้อยที่มีความแม่นยำอย่างอัตโนมัติ ซึ่งส่งผลให้การวินิจฉัยโรคทำได้รวดเร็วมากขึ้น เป็นระบบอัจฉริยะสำหรับจำแนกประเภทและลักษณะอาการของโรคอ้อย (Intelligent System Diagnosis Sugarcane Diseases with Deep Convolutional Neural Network) เป็นระบบที่ให้ผู้ใช้งานอัพโหลดรูปภาพใบอ้อย สามารถบ่งบอกโรคอ้อยและระบุสาเหตุพร้อมวิธีการป้องกันหรือควบคุม โดยระบบมีความสามารถในการจำแนกชนิดของโรคอ้อย 5 คลาส ได้แก่ โรคเส้นกลางใบแดง (Red Rot) โรคราสนิม (Rust) โรคใบจุดวงแหวน (Ring Spot) โรคใบขาว (White Leaf) และใบสมบูรณ์ (Normal) ที่มีค่า Mean Average Precision (mAP) สูงถึง 0.8681 หรือร้อยละ 86.81

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้นำเสนอการจำลองทำงานของโพรโทคอลการเข้าถึงตัวกลางแบบฟูลดูเพลกซ์แบบอสมมาตรด้วยโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ เพื่อใช้ในการประเมินสมรรถนะของระบบทั้งในสภาวะที่มีและไม่มีสถานีซ่อนเร้น ในงานวิจัยนี้เริ่มจากการศึกษามาตรฐานโพรโทคอล IEEE802.11 และประเมินค่าทรูพุตของระบบโดยพิจารณาถึงผลกระทบของการมีอยู่ของสถานีซ่อนเร้น ผลการทดสอบพบว่าสถานีซ่อนเร้นเป็นปัญหาหลักของโพรโทคอลการเข้าถึงตัวกลางที่อาศัยกลไกการจับมือสองทาง กล่าวคือ ค่าทรูพุตของระบบลดลงจากกรณีที่ไม่มีสถานีซ่อนเร้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ ในทางปฏิบัติ การใช้กลไกการจับมือแบบสี่ทางเป็นวิธีที่ถูกนำมาใช้งานเพื่อแก้ปัญหาของสถานีซ้อนเร้น ผลการทดสอบด้วยโปรแกรมที่พัฒนาขึ้นกับตัวอย่างโครงข่ายกรณีศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่าการเพิ่มกระบวนการการขอการส่งแพ็กเก็ตอาร์ทีเอสและการตอบรับด้วยแพ็กเก็ตซีทีเอสเป็นกลไกที่ช่วยลดผลกระทบของสถานีซ้อนเร้นได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ สอดคล้องตรงกับงานวิจัยที่มีอยู่เดิม ผู้เขียนได้ทำการพัฒนาโปรแกรมต่อยอดให้สามารถจำลองการทำงานของระบบการสื่อสารแบบฟูลดูเพลกซ์แบบอสมมาตร เพื่อใช้ในการศึกษา วิเคราะห์ และประเมินสรรถนะ ในการใช้งานโปรแกรมสามารถกำหนดให้สถานีอยู่ ณ ตำแหน่งใด ๆ ก็ได้ เพื่อให้สามารถจำลองสถานการณ์ที่มีสถานีซ้อนเร้นในรูปแบบต่างกันได้ตามต้องการ โดยได้ทำการจำลองในหลาย ๆ สถานการณ์ ในขนาดหน้าต่างช่วงชิง 16 และ 32 ผลการทดสอบพบว่าการที่สถานีไม่มีการซ่อนเร้นกันเลยทำให้ไม่สามารถสร้างฟูลดูเพลกซ์ได้ เนื่องจากสัญญารบกวนกันของสถานีที่อยู่ใกล้กัน เมื่อนำวิธีผลกระทบจากการยึดได้ มาใช้งาน ผลการทดสอบทำให้สามารถสร้างสร้างฟูลดูเพลกซ์ได้ และได้ค่าทรูพุตที่ดีขึ้น ในการทดลองต่อไปคือการทำในรูปแบบที่มีสถานีซ่อนเร้นกัน ผลการทดลองพบว่าสามารถสร้างสร้างฟูลดูเพลกซ์ได้ และเมื่อนำวิธีผลกระทบจากการยึดได้ มาใช้งานทำให้ค่าทรูพุตดีขึ้นประมาณ 5-10 % โดยประมาณ การทดลองต่อไปเป็นการทดลองเพิ่มสถานีส่งให้มากขึ้น ผลการทดลองพบว่าค่าทรูพุตจะลดลงตามลำดับจำนวนสถานีทั้งในกรณีที่ใช้ผลกระทบจากการยึดได้ และไม่ใช้เพราะสถานีที่มากขึ้นจะทำการแย่งกันส่งสัญญาณชนกัน และสิ่งที่สังเกตที่ได้จากการทดลองของการใช้ผลกระทบจากการยึดได้ ก็คือสถานีปลายทางจะรับข้อมูลได้อย่างยุติธรรมมากขึ้น
