Postoperative delirium is the most common complication among older adults undergoing major surgery. The pathophysiology of delirium is poorly understood, and no blood-based, predictive markers are available. We characterized the plasma metabolome of 52 delirium cases and 52 matched controls from the Successful Aging after Elective Surgery (SAGES) cohort (N= 560) of patients ≥ 70 years old without dementia undergoing scheduled major non-cardiac surgery. We applied targeted mass spectrometry with internal standards and pooled controls using a nested matched case-control study preoperatively (PREOP) and on postoperative day 2 (POD2) to identify potential delirium risk and disease markers. The quasi-static anisotropic permittivity parameters of electrically insulating beta gallium oxide (β-Ga2O3) were determined by terahertz spectroscopy. Polarization-resolved frequency domain spectroscopy in the spectral range from 200 GHz to 1 THz was carried out on bulk crystals along different orientations. Principal directions for permittivity were determined along crystallographic axes c and b and reciprocal lattice direction a*. No significant frequency dispersion in the real part of dielectric permittivity was observed in the measured spectral range. การสับเปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่ (Battery Swapping) จะมาส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มจักรยานยนต์ไฟฟ้า (Electric Motorcycles) เนื่องจากจักรยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าต้องใช้เวลาในการเติมพลังงานนานกว่าจักรยานยนต์ (Motorcycles) การสับเปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่จึงเป็นสิ่งที่จะมาแก้ปัญหาเรื่องนี้ แต่เนื่องจากรูปแบบธุรกิจนี้ยังอยู่ในช่วงส่งเสริมและผลักดัน งานวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความเป็นไปได้ของธุรกิจสับเปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่ในประเทศไทย โดยการวิเคราะห์เชิงคุณภาพเพื่อนำองค์ประกอบต่างๆที่มีผลต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจด้วย โมเดลสำหรับการวิเคราะห์ธุรกิจ (Business model canvas) และ การวิเคราะห์ความเป็นไปได้ทางการเงินด้วยการคิดลดกระแสเงินสด (Discount Cash Flow) เพื่อประเมินความคุ้มค่าในการลงทุนธุรกิจนี้ 4 รูปแบบกรณีศึกษา คือ รูปแบบปกติ, รูปแบบที่มีอัตราการใช้บริการสูง, รูปแบบที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนเงินลงทุน และ รูปแบบที่เทคโนโลยีมีการพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็ว โดยผลจากการวิเคราะห์เชิงธุรกิจ มีองค์ประกอบต่างๆ ที่เหมาะสมในประเทศไทย ซึ่งอยู่บนพื้นฐานความต้องการของผู้ใช้บริการ อาทิเช่น การจัดโปรโมชั่นต่างๆ การพัฒนาระบบซอฟแวร์ หรือ การมีตัวเลือกในการใช้บริการ เป็นต้น และผลจากการวิเคราะห์ทางด้านการเงิน แสดงให้เห็นว่าการลงทุนในรูปแบบที่มีการปรับอัตราการใช้บริการ (Utilization rate) ที่ 21%, การได้รับเงินสนับสนุน อย่างน้อย 25% ของต้นทุนดำเนินงาน และ การใช้เทคโนโลยีในการผลิตแบตเตอรี่ส่งผลให้ต้นทุนดำเนินงานลดลง 37% ทำให้โครงการมีความคุ้มค่าในการลงทุน ซึ่งมีมูลค่าปัจจุบันสุทธิ, อัตราผลตอบแทนภายใน และระยะเวลาคืนทุนที่แตกต่างกัน เนื่องจากปัจจัยต้นทุนและผลประโยชน์ของแต่ละรูปแบบกรณีศึกษาที่แตกต่างกัน เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการศึกษาต่อไป ข้อเสนอแนะบางประการได้รับการเสนอให้พิจารณาปัจจัยอื่นๆเพิ่มเติมเพื่อส่งเสริมการพัฒนาธุรกิจ และสามารถนำไปใช้อ้างอิงสำหรับผู้มีอำนาจในการตัดสินใจและนักลงทุน

Size reduction is necessary to fit the recent demand for small sized communication systems in consumer electronics. Wireless communication systems rely on antennas for long range transmission of signals, so size reduced antennas have been sought after in recent years. Also, not many antennas are designed for use in bidirectional scenarios like subways, tunnels, bridges, etc. Three sized reduced antennas with circular polarization are presented for use in bidirectional communication systems. This paper describes the design and deployment of a mobile cloud network that facilitates open educational resource content distribution. The setup utilized clustered single board computers as content, communication and monitoring servers. It was installed in a Public High School where stakeholders, using their mobile devices, were given access to preloaded content via wireless local area network. Initial tests of the mobile cloud showed good network performance. Teachers were randomly selected to evaluate the content validity and delivery of the OER content. Deep models have provided high accuracy for different applications such as person recognition, image segmentation, image captioning, scene description, and action recognition. In this dissertation, we study the deep learning models and their application in improving the performance and reliability of person recognition. This dissertation focuses on five aspects of person recognition: (1) multimodal person recognition, (2) quality-aware multi-sample person recognition, (3) text-independent speaker verification, (4) adversarial iris examples, and (5) morphed face images. This paper presents a nascent collaborative effort to achieve a Virtual Reality (VR)-based, real-time, haptics-driven patient-specific obstetrics simulator. The high-level architecture and preliminary results are presented here; the latter are based on offline birthing simulation developed by team in conjunction with open-source visualization tools. The cornerstones of this simulator will be high-fidelity generic offline birthing simulation, an anatomy-to-image nonrigid registration pipeline exploiting fetal MRI, the open-source interactive medical simulation toolkit IMSTK augmented by high-throughput deep learning-based soft tissue deformation, open-source musculoskeletal dynamics simulation platform SimTk for representing fetal motion. Electroosmotic flow (EOF) has been widely used in various biochemical microfluidic applications, many of which use viscoelastic non-Newtonian fluid. This study numerically investigates the EOF of viscoelastic fluid through a 10:1 constriction microfluidic channel connecting two reservoirs on either side. The flow is modelled by the Oldroyd-B (OB) model coupled with the Poisson–Boltzmann model. EOF of polyacrylamide (PAA) solution is studied as a function of the PAA concentration and the applied electric field. Beam Position Monitoring (BPM) systems are utilized extensively in particle accelerator facilities as a diagnostic tool to ascertain quantitative aspects of an accelerated charge-beam such as spatial position and intensity of the beam as it is accelerated to greater velocities and levels of kinetic energy within said accelerating machine. Satellite sensors have been extremely useful and are in massive demand in the understanding of the Earth’s surface and monitoring of changes. For quantitative analysis and acquiring consistent measurements, absolute radiometric calibration is necessary. The most common vicarious approach of radiometric calibration is cross-calibration, which helps to tie all the sensors to a common radiometric scale for consistent measurement. One of the traditional methods of cross-calibration is performed using temporally and spectrally stable pseudo-invariant calibration sites (PICS). The remote sensing community has extensively used Pseudo-Invariant Calibration Sites (PICS) to monitor the long-term in-flight radiometric calibration of Earth-observing satellites. The use of the PICS has an underlying assumption that these sites are invariant over time. However, the site’s temporal stability has not been assured in the past. By reducing the time component, massive instantaneous power magnitudes are achieved, scaling up to the high terawatt range in some modern applications. Natural gas customers rely upon utilities to provide gas for heating in the coldest parts of winter. Heating capacity is expensive, so utilities and end users (represented by commissions) must agree on the coldest day on which a utility is expected to meet demand. The return period of such a day is long relative to the amount of weather data that are typically available. This paper develops a weather resampling method called the Surrogate Weather Resampler, which creates a large dataset to support analysis of extremely infrequent events. Development of new algorithms for the detection of isolated astrophysical pulses is of interest to radio astronomers. Both Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) and several Rotating Radio Transients (RRATs) were detected through the application of a single pulse search algorithm. The conventional approach to detect astronomical pulses requires an exhaustive search for the correct dispersion measure. Its accelerated versions involve signal processing in Fourier transform space.

Extremely low frequencies signals are waves between 3 to 30Hz and corresponding wavelengths between 10,000 to 100,000 kilometers. The specific signals used here are generated from lightning and are excited at frequencies around 8Hz, 14Hz, 20Hz. These are often called Schumann Resonance frequencies. Several stations have been built around the world for identifying ELF waves. Due to its potential to support high data rates at low latency with reasonable interference isolation because of signal blockage at these frequencies, millimeter-wave (mmWave) communications has emerged as a promising solution for next-generation wireless networks.
