This study presents a novel hybrid Turkish text summarization system that combines structural and semantic features. The system uses 5 structural features, 1 of which is newly proposed and 3 are semantic features whose values are extracted from Turkish Wikipedia links. The features are combined using the weights calculated by 2 novel approaches. The first approach makes use of an analytical hierarchical process, which depends on a series of expert judgments based on pairwise comparisons of the features. A linearly slotted waveguide antenna (LSWA) is investigated. The slot is placed in one of the narrow faces of a rectangular waveguide, which operates at Ka-band (26.5--40 GHz), which is in a frequency range including upper microwaves and the lower edge of millimeter waves. Analytically, the magnetic current approach is applied. Some antenna parameters of this structure are experimentally measured and it is observed that the antenna radiates a single transversal-polarized beam that scans with frequency. We propose a neural network (NN)-based adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) for link adaptation in MIMO-OFDM systems. The AMC optimizes the best modulation and coding scheme (MCS) under a packet error rate (PER) constraint. In our approach, a NN with a multilayer perceptron (MLP) structure is applied for the AMC and its performance is compared with the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) algorithm under the frequency-flat (1-tap) and frequency-selective (4-tap) wireless channel conditions. This paper presents a solution for the emission-controlled economic dispatch (ECED) problem of medium-sized power systems via an artificial bee colony algorithm. The ECED problem, which accounts for the minimization of both the fuel cost and the emission, is a multiple objective function problem. The classification of power quality (PQ) disturbances to improve the PQ is an important issue in utilities and industrial factories. In this paper, an approach to classify PQ disturbances is presented. First, a signal containing one of the PQ disturbances, like sag, swell, flicker, interruption, transient, or harmonics, is evaluated using the proposed approach. In this paper, a robust sliding mode prediction model is combined with a sliding mode voltage model observer to achieve a sensorless predictive torque control method. In order to compensate the uncertainties of the stator and rotor resistances and the offset of measured current, sliding mode feedbacks were added to the voltage model observer. To reduce the effect of the errors that are injected from the observer to the prediction model in the sensorless application, the prediction model was also reinforced by a sliding mode feedback. Motivated by the dynamic characteristics of underactuated mechanical systems with 2 degrees of freedom, a decoupling adaptive fuzzy sliding mode decoupling controller (DAFSMDC) is presented in this paper. By exploiting the universal approximation property of fuzzy logic systems and the sliding mode control method, this paper proposes a new decoupling strategy of the system into 2 second-order subsystems and introduces an adaptive control algorithm that guarantees the convergence of both subsystems. A differential pair-based, high-performance, first-generation current conveyor is proposed. The proposed circuit is laid out using the Mentor Graphics IC Station layout editor. The performance characteristics have been determined from HSpice postlayout simulations using the Austria Mikro Systeme 0.35 \mu m, 3.3 V process parameters. During the simulations, \pm 1.65 V supply voltages and a 25 \mu A biasing current are used. The power consumption is about 1.12 mW. In this paper, we describe an essential problem in data clustering and present some solutions for it. We investigated using distance measures other than Euclidean type for improving the performance of clustering. We also developed an improved point symmetry-based distance measure and proved its efficiency. We developed a k-means algorithm with a novel distance measure that improves the performance of the classical k-means algorithm. The proposed algorithm does not have the worst-case bound on running time that exists in many similar algorithms in the literature. An improved back projection imaging algorithm for subsurface target detection is presented in this paper. Firstly, the characteristic of the scattering data at each time-delay curve in the traditional back projection imaging procedure is analyzed. Secondly, a weight factor is designed for each focal point and an improved back projection imaging algorithm is presented. Thirdly, the simulation of the improved imaging algorithm is processed. The imaging results of both the simulation data and the real ground penetrating radar data show the effectiveness of this imaging algorithm.

Harmonic distortion and flicker severity have become the main concerns in power transmission networks. Different types of harmonic and flicker sources exist in power systems, such as arc furnaces and cycloconverters. A power quality problem found in networks can cause additional temperature rise, losses, noise, and irritation in the lighting equipment. The aim of this study is to identify the level of harmonics and flicker in the 380-kV transmission network of Turkey. This paper presents a multiobjective optimization methodology to find the optimal location for an optimal unified power flow controller (OUPFC) device. Moreover, the installation cost function of the OUPFC device is developed. The objective functions are the total fuel cost, power losses, and system loadability with and without the minimum cost of the OUPFC installation. The \varepsilon-constraint approach is implemented for the multiobjective mathematical programming formulation. The proposed algorithm is implemented in the IEEE 30- and 118-bus test systems. In this study the attenuation in mobile communication due to atmospheric events like snow and rain is simulated using the discrete propagation model. In this work, spherical raindrop and oblate spheroid raindrop modeling are used. To check the validity of simulations, the commonly used and accepted ITU-R rain model is used. The flexible altering current transmission system (FACTS) controllers such as static synchronous series compensators (SSSCs) and unified power flow controllers can strongly improve the different parameters of power systems. This paper presents a 5-bit flash analog-to-digital converter design using the 0.18-\mu m Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's CMOS technology library. The designed system consists of 2 main blocks, a comparator array, and a digital decoder. The digital decoder contains a latch, 1-of-N decoder, and fat-tree encoder units. The 1-of-N decoder is implemented using 2 \times 1 multiplexers. As a result, the active die area and the power consumption are reduced, in addition to an increase in the sampling frequency. Stuttering assessment through the manual classification of speech disfluencies is subjective, inconsistent, time-consuming, and prone to error. The aim of this paper is to compare the effectiveness of the 3 speech feature extraction methods, mel-frequency cepstral coefficients, linear predictive coding (LPC)-based cepstral parameters, and perceptual linear predictive (PLP) analysis, for classifying 2 types of speech disfluencies, repetition and prolongation, from recorded disfluent speech samples.
