The existing calculation methods for texture depth of asphalt pavements are easily affected by external and human factors.Therefore,a multi-region plane fitting algorithm for the texture depth based on three-dimensional (3D) linear laser data was proposed.The algorithm preprocessed the collected 3D height data matrix of the pavement and derived a slope-based adaptive filtering algorithm for point cloud data.Then, the 3D height matrix was divided into multiple regions,and the local extremum of the center point was determined.Finally,with the three-point and one-surface plane fitting algorithm as the core,the texture depth of asphalt pavements was calculated.The experimental results show that the correlation between this …

In order to compare the performance difference among the composite stress absorption layer, SBS stress absorption layer, and glass grille stress absorption layer, the dynamic response law of the composite stress absorption layer was explored. In this paper, based on the composite stress absorption layer composed of glass grille + rubber-modified asphalt gravel sealing layer, the UTM-25 test system was employed to carry out inter-layer shear, inter-layer tension, low temperature bending, and four-point fatigue test. To compare the light reflection and exhaust degradation effect of common road coating fillers, this paper prepared three kinds of road surface coatings with Nano-TiO2, Nano-ZnO, and Micro-TiO2 as fillers respectively. Meanwhile, the reflectivity tests of the coatings with different mixing contents of fillers were conducted by adopting a self-developed light reflectivity tester to determine the optimal mixing content of fillers. In view of the factors influencing the temperature field of CRC+AC composite road surfaces, this paper analyzed the temperature field distribution and influencing factors of CRC+AC composite road surface structures based on the meteorology and heat transfer theories, and conducted 3D solid modeling and numerical simulation by adopting Abaqus finite element software. The results show that in certain conditions, the deeper distance from the road surface leads to smaller temperature change of the road surface structure. To detect the icing condition and icing thickness of asphalt pavement in extreme weather conditions, this paper firstly compared the performance indexes of polymer optical fiber and quartz optical fiber, chose polymer optical fiber as the optical transmission medium, and selected the distribution mode of coaxial sensor probes. To improve the early serviceability of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures, this paper studied the effect of curing conditions on the mechanical strength and stability of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixtures by conducting indoor tests. The results show that in the same test conditions, the indoor emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture can better characterize the serviceability of practical projects. Compared to the indoor specimen mixture, the stability and cleavage strength of field mixture core samples are increased by an average of 5.5% and 10.7% respectively. By taking the high vertical sand barriers deployed on the top of the complex longitudinal sand ridges in the hinterland of Taklamakan Desert as the object, this paper investigated the sand protection effect from the long-term perspective on the basis of several years’ comparative observation. In order to study the effects of temperature and light on the characteristics of asphalt emissions, atmospheric pressure chemical ionization–time-of-flight mass spectrometer (APCI‑TOF MS) and electron impact ionization mass spectrometry (EI‑MS) were used to quantitatively characterize the composition information of PG 62-22 asphalt emissions at different temperatures (40–200 °C). The effects of different temperatures and light on total emission factor, SOA conversion factor, intermediate volatile organic compound (IVOC)/semi-volatile organic compound (SVOC) volume fraction, and aromatics volume fraction of asphalt emissions were studied. To study and verify the compaction control method for high liquid limit clay subgrade in the humid and rainy regions of Guizhou Province, a series of experiments were conducted on high water content and high liquid limit clay from the Kaiyang Expressway (Kaili to Yangjia) in Guizhou. The experiments included wet heavy compaction tests, CBR strength tests, basic physical property tests, consolidation tests, thermogravimetric analysis, and trial road tests to analyze the performance of high liquid limit clay in road applications. Selection Of Phase Change Materials For Asphalt Pavement Based On Molecular Dynamics Simulation, Liu Fujun, Tian Xin, Liang Meichen, Guo Meng

Phase change materials (PCMs) have significant application potential in temperature regulation for asphalt pavements. To select suitable PCMs for road applications, this paper utilizes molecular dynamics simulation to analyze the molecular behaviors of lauric acid and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Experimental studies were conducted to validate the simulation results. The results show that molecular dynamics simulation provides an efficient and convenient method for comparing the performance of PCMs. PEG outperforms lauric acid in terms of molecular density, cohesive energy density, solubility parameters, and thermal conductivity, making it more suitable as a phase change material for asphalt pavements.

Study On Microstructure Of Asphalt Modified By Oil‐Coal Blend, Guo Pengfei, Zhou Xinfeng

To investigate the microstructure and modification mechanism of asphalt modified with oil-coal blend, SK-90# asphalt was mixed with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% (external blending method) oil-coal blend to produce modified asphalt. The performance and microstructural changes of the modified asphalt were analyzed using contact angle testing, infrared spectroscopy, cross-sectional SEM, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that the oil-coal blend exhibits good compatibility with asphalt. During the modification process, esterification reactions occurred, resulting in a decrease in hydroxyl-containing aromatic compounds and an increase in carbonyl-containing aromatic compounds. Macroscopically, the oil-coal blend-modified asphalt demonstrated excellent high-temperature performance.
