Transition Plans: A Closer Look, David Meihls, Keri L. Grubb, Amy Moore Mar 2013

Transition Plans: A Closer Look, David Meihls, Keri L. Grubb, Amy Moore

Purdue Road School

Transition Plans are only a part of what is required under the ADA. We will look closer at the entire process that surrounds the Transition Plan and the Transition Plan itself. This session will briefly discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the applicable Titles, and its relationship to other laws. We will cover the Administrative requirements and the Self- Evaluation of programs, services, and activities, which precede the Transition Plan. We will learn the basics of a Transition Plan, understand who it applies to, and provide an understanding of the required elements of a Transition Plan.

Indiana Ltap Road Scholar Core Course #10 Culvert Drainage, Thomas Burke, Megan Elberts, Bill Enslen Mar 2013

Indiana Ltap Road Scholar Core Course #10 Culvert Drainage, Thomas Burke, Megan Elberts, Bill Enslen

Purdue Road School

Legal aspects and drainage laws are discussed as well as basic hydrology, structure types, and hydraulic design and sizing.

Advanced Pavement Evaluation & Design Methods, Chuck Gemayel, Mike Maurovich Mar 2013

Advanced Pavement Evaluation & Design Methods, Chuck Gemayel, Mike Maurovich

Purdue Road School

Fiscal constraints can limit the analysis that can be done prior to pavement design. The falling weight deflectometer offers a fast and cost effective solution to obtaining information to assist in these processes. This presentation discusses its use and inputs into the new Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide Darwin-ME software adopted by INDOT.

Process To Improve Work Zone Progression, Pat Mccarty Mar 2013

Process To Improve Work Zone Progression, Pat Mccarty

Purdue Road School

INDOT performs regular construction and maintenance work zone audits. This presentation will provide an overview of the findings from reviews in 2012.

2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan:Tippecanoe County Red Flag Analysis, Anna Burman Mar 2013

2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan:Tippecanoe County Red Flag Analysis, Anna Burman

Purdue Road School

Early project-level environmental analysis can save time and money. A Red Flag Analysis reveals possible environmental issues prior to the start of the design process and adds greater certainty to the design and budgeting process. The analysis can be done as part of the long-range transportation plan or at the pre-design project level.

Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, Cindy M. Kowalski Mar 2013

Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, Cindy M. Kowalski

Purdue Road School

This session provides an overview of best practices for utility coordination. A case study of the processes used on the Ohio River Bridges will be discussed.

Incident Management, And Work Zone Patrols, Kimberly Peters, Pat Mccarty Mar 2013

Incident Management, And Work Zone Patrols, Kimberly Peters, Pat Mccarty

Purdue Road School

This presentation discusses work zone patrols and incident management, and then provide information on recent action to reduce delay, and improve work zone progression.
