Energy is at an exponentially growing demand, and to keep up with these demands new technologies for renewable energy have received increased attention. Hydrogen plays a vital role in water electrolysis and fuel cells, as the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is the main step water splitting process. Flexible packaging is an integral part of the food supply chain due to its unique thermal, mechanical, and barrier properties. The many advantages (e.g., lightweight, product protection, reduction in food waste, communication medium, etc.) come with certain drawbacks (low recyclability rate, pollution of ecosystems, etc.). Still, the heavy reliance of the food industry on these products, many of them being non-sustainable polyolefins, is unlikely to diminish in the foreseeable future. Enzymatic transesterification of triglycerides to produce biodiesel has been gaining increasing attention owing to its advantages over chemical processes. Being catalysts, enzymes are not consumed during the processes in which they are used. Therefore, a successful technique to allow their repeated use can significantly enhance the economic feasibility of the process. The most common approach to allow easy separation of the enzymes and to eliminate their wastage is immobilization on a support matrix. Heat pipes are used to transfer heat through phase change in a liquid/vapor contained in a metal tube. They are passive devices that require no pumps to circulate the fluid and can transfer heat far more efficiently than a solid copper rod of the same diameter. They are commonly used in laptop computers where copper heat pipes filled with water take heat away from the CPU and transfer the heat to air through a heat exchanger. Soluble enzymes have the unique ability to assist the conversion of complex substrates in fewer steps compared to conventional chemical synthesis; however, when immobilized to a surface, the insoluble enzyme's activity and stability can suffer in its new environment. To improve upon future immobilized enzyme efficacy, a fundamental understanding of the interactions across the enzyme, linker, and surface during covalent, site-specific immobilization that can be detrimental to its activity is required. More specifically, using a well-characterized and model enzyme, T4 lysozyme (T4L), 28 different cysteine attachment points' effects on site-specifically immobilized activity are examined. Earth-abundant transition metals (i.e., Fe, Co, and Ni) have attracted attention due to their high availability, low cost, and catalytic characteristics that are in many cases found in and exploited by nature. Accurate and economical modeling of near-surface transport processes is a standing challenge for various engineering and atmospheric boundary-layer flows. In this paper, we address this challenge by utilizing an economical stochastic one-dimensional turbulence (ODT) model. ODT aims to resolve all relevant scales of a turbulent flow for a one-dimensional domain. Here ODT is applied to turbulent channel flow as stand-alone tool. Rapid breakdown of hepatic glycogen stores into glucose plays an important role during intense physical exercise to maintain systemic euglycemia. Hepatic glycogenolysis is governed by several different liver-intrinsic and systemic factors such as hepatic zonation, circulating catecholamines, hepatocellular calcium signaling, hepatic neuroanatomy, and the central nervous system (CNS). Of the factors regulating hepatic glycogenolysis, the extent of lobular innervation varies significantly between humans and rodents. Multiphase flow is a complex phenomenon which can be modeled on numerous different length scales, both macroscopically and microscopically. The use of a Euler-Euler model for Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of subcooled boiling phenomena is discussed in detail. The CFD conditions have been set up to mimic previous experimental conditions. A cylindrical vessel with subcooled liquid flow is heated along part of the axial wall of the vessel. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) enable detailed historical preservation of large-scale infrastructure and contribute to cultural heritage preservation, improved maintenance, public relations, and development planning. Aerial and terrestrial photo data coupled with high accuracy GPS create hyper-realistic mesh and texture models, high resolution point clouds, orthophotos, and digital elevation models (DEMs) that preserve a snapshot of history. Prior to its combustion, fuel for future-highspeed aircraft will experience supercritical conditions, causing the fuel to undergo pyrolytic reactions that lead to the formation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), precursors to fuel-line solids that hinder aircraft’s safe operation. Therefore, understanding the formation pathways of PAH under supercritical conditions is important to preventing formation of these solids.

Neurological and functional recovery is limited following central nervous system injury and severe injury to the peripheral nervous system. Extracellular matrix (ECM)-mimetic hydrogels are of particular interest as regenerative scaffolds for the injured nervous system as they provide 3D bioactive interfaces that modulate cellular response to the injury environment and provide naturally degradable scaffolding for effective tissue remodeling.
