Modulating Electronic Structure With Linearly Fused Pyrazine Units For High-Voltage And Stable Zinc-Organic Batteries Cathode, Min-Jian Zhao, Li-Bin Zhang, Jin-Tao Wang, Kun Ding, Hai-Mei Liu, Yong-Gang Wang

Journal of Electrochemistry

High-voltage n-type organic cathode materials are critical for constructing zinc-organic batteries (ZOBs) with high energy density and long cycle life. However, the intrinsically unfavorable electronic structures and relatively high LUMO energy levels of most n-type materials often lead to sluggish kinetics, high solubility, and suboptimal discharge voltages (< 0.8 V). Here, we design a small molecule, quinoxalino[2’,3’:5,6]pyrazino[2,3-f][1,10]phenanthroline (DPQP), as a ZOB cathode by introducing locally electron-deficient motifs into the conjugated backbone of aromatic compounds. The linearly fused pyrazine units extending the pyrazine–benzene framework effectively optimize the electronic structure, thereby significantly enhancing the discharge voltage. Meanwhile, the expanded π-conjugated plane suppresses dissolution and accelerates charge-transfer kinetics. Benefiting from these features, the DPQP electrode exhibits an exceptional increase in average operating voltage from 0.61 V to 1.07 V (vs. Zn2+/Zn) at 0.1 A·g–1, with an overpotential of only 140 mV. Notably, no discernible voltage decay occurs as the current density increases, indicating rapid and highly reversible redox kinetics. Furthermore, the DPQP cathode delivers outstanding cycling stability, maintaining over 2000 h of continuous operation at 0.1 A·g–1 …

Journal of Electrochemistry

High-entropy oxides (HEOs) present significant scientific challenges in both design and synthesis due to their multielement and high-entropy nature, which involves complex combinations of multiple metal cations and oxygen anions, typically arranged in equimolar ratios to achieve structural stability. Herein, one-dimensional (Co,Ni,Mn,Cu,Zn)O high-entropy oxide nanotubes (HEO-NTs) are fabricated by means of a gradient electrospinning strategy with a tailored polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) molecular weight distribution and controlled pyrolysis. Benefiting from the HEO features and the synergistic effect of multicomponent sites, the as-synthesized (Co,Ni,Mn,Cu,Zn)O HEO-NTs exhibit exceptional bifunctional electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen evolution and hydrazine oxidation reactions (OER/HzOR). This study offers …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Vegetable oil production is characterized by high variability in output indicators due to nonlinear interactions between raw material parameters, equipment modes, and heat and mass transfer conditions. Existing approaches to applying machine learning in this field, as a rule, do not account for the impact of hyperparameter adjustments on forecasting quality across specific technological stages. The article presents a systematic methodology for adjusting model parameters (Ridge regression, SVR, GBM, LSTM) applied to three key tasks: predicting residual oil content in oil cake, color index during bleaching, and free fatty acid content during deodorization. In a set of 1000 observations, including …

Data-Driven Neuro-Fuzzy Modeling And Rule Optimization For Intelligent Prediction Of Bioreactor Dynamics, Kamala Najaf Mammadzada

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Modeling wastewater bioreactors is a challenging problem in environmental engineering because the processes are constantly changing and the microorganisms do not behave in a linear or predictable way. This makes it difficult to predict and control the system behavior. This research investigates three artificial intelligence approaches for modeling wastewater bioreactors: the Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (FIS), the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), and clustering-based fuzzy models. These models help us predict what is happening in the bioreactors. For instance they help us predict how the amount of substances in the water is changing over time like dS0/dt dSs/dt …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This paper examines the development of regularized algorithms for synthesizing control devices in control systems for polynomial objects, described by multidimensional Volterra functional series. The synthesis problem is solved using a two-stage procedure. In the first stage, the optimization problem is initially solved for an open-loop system. The second stage involves determining the parameters of the control device, i.e., its impulse response functions, by using the relationship between the characteristics of the open-loop and closed-loop systems. Regular algorithms are presented for finding the impulse response functions of the control device based on methods for regularizing the solution of operator equations …

Structural Decomposition-Based Control Synthesis For Multivariable Systems Using Oblique Projection Operators, Abdukaxxarov Inomjon Ilxom Ugli Mr, Oripjon Olimovich Zaripov, Jasur Usmonovich Sevinov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This paper proposes a novel approach to control synthesis for multivariable systems with algebraic constraints using oblique projection operators and their structural decomposition. The method transforms a standard control law into a structured form by decomposing the control input into constraint-satisfying and null-space components. A generalized oblique projector is constructed using a dual matrix, ensuring flexibility in shaping system properties. Furthermore, a recursive decomposition algorithm is developed, allowing the global projector to be represented as a sum of local operators corresponding to subsystem structures. The proposed framework enables modular control design, decoupling of interactions, and efficient implementation for large-scale systems. …

Water-Driven Solid Electrolyte Interphase Governs Continuous-Flow Ammonia Electrosynthesis, Peng-Bo Liu, Sheng-Liang Zhai, Ji Huang, Zhong-Shuo Zhang, Jie Zeng, Shao-Feng Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

Flow-cell architectures have emerged as a powerful platform for continuous and stable lithium-mediated nitrogen reduction (Li-NRR), enabling ambient-condition electrochemical ammonia synthesis and offering a promising alternative to Haber-Bosch processes. However, Li-NRR is exceptionally sensitive to trace water, and even minor variations in water content can profoundly alter interfacial chemistry. Here, we systematically investigate how initial water concentration affects Li-NRR performance in a continuous-flow cell. Excess water drives the formation of a thick solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer, which may impede nitrogen access to metallic lithium and hinder lithium-ion transport. As a result, the ammonia Faradaic efficiency collapses from ~61% to …

Journal of Electrochemistry

Economical Fe-N-C catalysts are considered as promising alternatives to platinum group metal catalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Despite exhibiting robust activity on rotating disk electrodes, their performance within membrane electrode assemblies often experiences limitations, such as decreased O2 diffusion, high H2O2 formation, low proton conduction, and a lower electron transfer number. In this study, key factors, including proton transport, electron conduction, and gas diffusion within air-breathing PEMFCs, have been investigated by adjusting cathode catalyst layer (CCL) compositions. From the experimental results, the optimal peak power density was obtained when the loading of Fe-N-C …

Molecular Catalysts For Electrochemical Nitrogen Activation Toward Sustainable Ammonia Synthesis, Jin-Xiu Han, Hao Xue, Xian-Biao Fu

Journal of Electrochemistry

Homogeneous electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) provides a powerful framework to interrogate molecular nitrogen-fixation pathways under mild conditions. By tuning the metal center, ligand architecture, and reaction medium, these systems enable capturing key intermediates and delivering mechanistic insight at the molecular-level resolution. Nevertheless, advances remain constrained by highly reduced operating potentials, intense competition from the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), limited durability in turnover, and inadequate long-term stability.

In this review, we take electron delivery to the molecular active site as the guiding principle for organizing homogeneous electrochemical N2 activation and transformation. We classify reported systems into direct electron transfer …

Mathematical Modelling And Optimisation Of The Reactor For The Esterification Process Of Safflower Oil With N-Butyl Alcohol, Sadritdin Makhamatdinovich Turabdjanov Academician, Hasan Sadriddin Ugli Fozilov, Ozoda Bakhronovna Axmedova, Sadriddin Fayzullayevich Fozilov

Technical science and innovation

This study addresses the mathematical modelling and optimisation of a reactor for the esterification of safflower oil with n-butyl alcohol. To improve process controllability and reduce the need for numerous pilot-scale trials, an ideal-mixing continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) model was adopted. Incorporating reaction kinetics, the effect of contact time on the relative viscosity of the product mixture was analysed. The modelling results indicate that achieving an acceptable degree of feedstock conversion is difficult when a single ideal-mixing reactor is used. Therefore, a CSTR cascade was proposed, and the configuration with N = 2 reactors was selected as the most appropriate …

Axial Sulfur-Coordination Engineering Boosting Fe–N–C Catalysts For High-Performance Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells, Lin Lin, Xiu-Xuan Hou, Zhe-Chen Fan, Yi-Xuan Yin, Wei-Yi Zhao, Kai Wei, Yu-Die Zhou, Li-Na Hou, Ying Wang, Hao Wan, Jun-Jie Ge

Journal of Electrochemistry

Fe-N-C catalysts have long suffered from kinetically sluggish oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) due to excessive adsorption strength toward oxygen intermediates and low site utilization. Heteroatom doping effectively accelerates ORR reaction kinetics through electronic structure modulation of metal sites for optimal intermediate adsorption, while chemical vapor deposition (CVD) enhances the turnover frequency (TOF) of active sites. Herein, we developed an FeSNC catalyst featuring abundant FeS1N4 sites via a dual-precursor CVD strategy. Experimental and theoretical analyses revealed that S incorporation disrupts the symmetric coordination of active sites, which optimizes OH* adsorption energies from 0.212 eV to 1.194 eV. Moreover, …

Deep Learning Based Control System For Multi-Zone Hvac Residential Buildings, Mohammad H. Z. Alghalayeeni

Mechanical Engineering Theses

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are major contributors to residential energy consumption. However, most homes continue to rely on single zone thermostat control, which regulates temperature based on a single sensor and cannot account for thermal variations across multiple rooms. This often leads to uneven thermal conditions and inefficient energy use in multi-zone residential buildings. This thesis presents a deep reinforcement learning based approach for improving HVAC zoning control through dynamic airflow distribution. A physics based multi zone thermal model of a residential house was developed to simulate heat transfer processes including conduction, convection, solar and internal heat …

Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi Mar 2026

Algorithms Of Stable Adaptive Observation Of A Multidimensional Undefinite Object, Tursunova Sadoqat Abdusalom Qizi

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This article presents an algorithm for simultaneously estimating the parameters and state coordinates of a multidimensional control object when some of its state variables are not directly measured. The inability to measure all state variables (coordinates) of an object is a well-known drawback of identification schemes. Such conditions require the construction of adaptive state observers. This work demonstrates that when identifying the parameters of a mathematical model for an uncertain multidimensional object, the asymptotic stability of the object and the convergence of its parameters to the model parameters are ensured, provided the input vector is sufficiently informative. The construction of …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The article proposes a new analytical method for investigating magnetic circuits with distributed parameters and nonlinear magnetic coupling. The method is based on introducing into the system of nonlinear differential equations of such circuits the condition that the second derivative of the magnetic flux with respect to the circuit length is equal to zero, as well as on assuming that one of the geometric parameters of the studied magnetic circuit – the value of the air gap between ferromagnetic cores, their thickness, width, or the linear value of the number of turns of the distributed excitation winding – is a …

Research Of Logic Elements Based On Complementary Bipolar Transistors, Nodira Batirdjanovna Alimova, Nilufar Baxtiyorovna Gulyamova

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

Important parameters for any type of inverter – a NOT logic gate – are the power consumption during switching and the supply voltage. The proposed connection of complementary (two different types) bipolar transistors reduces the current consumption and supply voltage by simultaneously using the cutoff and saturation modes of the bipolar transistors. It has been theoretically and experimentally established that an inverter using complementary bipolar transistors operates at low supply voltages, approximately 0.7 V. Power consumption is virtually independent of the inverter's static state. A method for calculating the transfer characteristic of an inverter using complementary bipolar transistors is developed, …

Synthesis Of An Adaptive Synergistic Fuzzy Discrete Controller For Nonlinear Systems, Isamidin Xakimovich Sidikov, Gulruxsor Murot Qizi Nashvandova, Feruzakhon Botirxon Qizi Sodiqova

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The paper considers the issues of synthesizing an adaptive fuzzy synergetic controller with discrete time for nonstationary nonlinear dynamic objects. The proposed approach is based on the integrated use of synergetic control principles and fuzzy logic methods, which ensure the formation of a control law for nonlinear dynamic objects that provides asymptotic stability of the control system. Such a hybrid combination makes it possible to guarantee the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system and to shape the required dynamic behavior of the object over a wide range of operating modes. In addition, this approach provides the ability to adapt to …

Adaptive-Robust Control Of Dynamic Systems Using Generalized Predictive Methods, Shuxrat Tulyaganov Mar 2026

Adaptive-Robust Control Of Dynamic Systems Using Generalized Predictive Methods, Shuxrat Tulyaganov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

This paper considers an approach to adaptive-robust control of dynamic systems using generalized anticipation, where the object is described by a locally linearized model. Known self-tuning algorithms show insufficient stability to inaccurate selection of delay or model order. A generalized predictive control approach is suggested, with simulation outcomes showing superiority over traditional methods like generalized minimum variance control and pole assignment. This sliding horizon algorithm is based on predicting future system output signals several steps ahead, based on assumptions about subsequent control actions. One effective assumption is the presence of a “control horizon,” beyond which control signal increments are assumed to …

Current Research Progress On Electrode Materials For All-Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries, Wen-Qi Wang, Jie Jin, Li-Min Wang, Xin-Yue Liu, Tao Cheng, Yong Hou, Han Xue, Zhi-Yu Wang, Bo Liu, Jia-Bao Liu, Xu-Bin Lu

Journal of Electrochemistry

The redox active species in all-vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs) reside in the electrolyte, while the heterogeneous reactions occur on the electrode surface; the electrode is therefore the decisive platform for dynamic adsorption, electron transfer, and ion conversion, especially for the VO2+/VO2+ and V2+/V3+ couples. One of the major challenges for VRFBs is the slow charge transfer in VO2+/VO2+ and V2+/V3+ reactions, mainly caused by poor catalytic performance of electrodes and weak adhesion of catalysts to electrodes. This review focuses on the key challenges and recent …
