The extensive consumption of petroleum fuel directly correlates with both hazardous exhaust emissions affecting human health and contributing to global warming. Initially, biodiesel fuels were proposed as a viable alternative to address these issues. This perspective finds support in numerous published studies that highlight how the significant catalytic effect of nanoparticles allows for their integration into biodiesel blends, resulting in improved combustion characteristics, reduced exhaust emissions, and enhanced performance. Numerous unconventional intersection designs have been suggested as a creative solution to mitigate traffic congestion at heavily crowded at-grade signalized intersections. A lot of these unconventional configurations have demonstrated superior performance compared to conventional intersections regarding average control delay and overall intersection capacity. This study aims to compare the operational, safety, and environmental effectiveness of one such unconventional intersection design known as Displaced Left-turn (DLT). Abstract- This research aims to investigate the obstacles, enablers, and suggested improvements for innovation in the Egyptian linear construction projects. The study is motivated by the need to understand the dynamics of innovation within these projects and identify practical approaches to overcome obstacles to innovation.
Owners, contractors, and consultants involved in linear construction projects constituted the target population of the study. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from a representative sample of 70 participants.

Three-phase induction motors have a widespread use in industry, and starting of loaded induction motors is an important matter. However, there are few studies on motor starting using variable-frequency drives (VFDs). The existing control schemes, described by these studies, have disadvantages such as dependence on derived characteristics, adjustment of settings, design of controllers, or burden of calculations on the control processor. This study presents the combustion and emission results obtained from a laboratory furnace equipped with a 35 kW industrial burner that utilizes co-combustion of pulverized biomass and diesel fuel. The experiment compared the co-combustion of pulverized biomass and diesel fuel with diesel fuel alone. Three different loading ratios of pulverized biomass from residual beet samples were used. Temperatures were measured at various positions inside the furnace to analyze combustion performance. It was observed that increasing the biomass loading ratios led to higher flame temperatures and improved combustion compared to diesel fuel alone. The concentrations of pollutants such as Co, HC, …

This study explores the seismic performance of a prototype block-type quay wall using the PLAXIS 2D software. The numerical model was forced by historical records of two earthquakes employing four soil types including sand, clay, gravel, and rock. The study investigated the influence of the earthquake seismic motion level, seismic motion configuration, peak ground acceleration (PGA) value, tidal range, and soil type on the structure behavior under the seismic action. In this study, the effect of three different lengths (short, medium, and long) of flanged shrouded Savonius wind turbines is investigated three-dimensional (3-D) numerically by ANSYS-FLUENT. The 3-D numerical model of a simple rotor is validated by comparing the results with previous published experimental ones at the same operating conditions and geometry. Achieving an optimal therapeutic level is crucial in effectively eradicating cancer cells during treatment. However, conventional chemotherapy-associated systemic administration of anticancer agents leads to many side effects. To achieve the desired control over the target site, active targeting of HER2-positive breast cancer cells can be achieved by conjugating liposomal vesicles with Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2 (HER2) and inducing release of the encapsulated drug using ultrasound. To further enhance the delivery efficiency, nanoemulsion droplets exhibiting responsiveness to low-frequency ultrasound are encapsulated within these lipid vesicles.
